Chapter 21 - CHAPTER 21: Unknown-girl

A harsh voice asks from somewhere in the darkness, "Why would I tell you about Jeson? What good is it for me to inform you about that?" A rude gangster with long hair, wearing studs on his ears and eyebrows, and frightening features makes this claim.

When the gangster emerged from the shadows, Jenny huddled behind Han-na. "Are you a cop?"

Han-na replies, "No…"

A helper for the gangster says, "I ran a background check on both of them. They are not cops. He works as a reporter, and she owns a restaurant."

"Compared to reporters, police are not as dangerous. Reporters are completely transparent; they reveal everything with just tip of a pen."

Han-na says, "I am not here to gather data for my publication. I came here..." Words stumbles.

When the rude gangster got a good look at him, "Love...! Is it because of love?"

Jenny and Han-na were astonished. He adds, "I will say it with the looks in your eyes. Desperate eyes searching for a girl, right?"

He finally musters the courage to say, "Yes, I want to find a woman I love, who is in the hands of Jeson. Help me, you want money, right? I will give you all the money that I have."

The rude gangster laughs wildly, "Money...! It is just some papers. If you keep it in a locked safe, it has no value and is merely a set of papers. But, when it moves around human's hand, it is quite expensive. Like love, also, it has no value when it's kept hidden in your heart. You should let out your feelings to that girl."

Aera heard Kang's voice as she was exploring the palace. She stepped close to the chamber where the voices were coming from.

Kang yelled at his guards, "Is this how you carry out your job?"

One of the guards says, "We brought six girls for you."

"You crazy punk. There are no women among those that I need. I desire Lucy. L-U-C-Y... Do you understand what I said? I desire Lucy. Go and catch her."

Aera is eavesdropping on Kang's conversation, while her father appears out of nowhere. "Aera, why are you in this place?"

"Ahh… you frightened me."

"This place is more perilous than you may imagine. Don't do anything recklessly," he grabs Aera's arm.

Aera relinquished her father's hand from her arm, "I think that being with you is the most reckless thing that I am doing. Do not act as though you are worried about me."

Aera adds as he walks away, "Even if I explain this to you, you won't understand."

Aera again eavesdropping on Kang's conversation, "Lucy…! Who is Lucy…?"

"Happy birthday Lucy." "Happy birthday." "I wish you a happy birthday." Everyone who is present wishes her a happy birthday.

Ji-ho said as he rolled his wheelchair closer to Anderson, "Thank you Anderson and your guards for being here. Lucy was so happy of all of your presence."

Anderson replies, "You are the only family that I have. How could I deny it?"

Ji-ho timidly inquires, "Didn't hear anything about uncle? Where is he staying or what is he doing?"

"Know nothing about him. Even though I care about him, he hates me. He hated my mum and father as well. In any case, it would be beneficial for him to avoid me."

"Yes."

"When do you intend to plan a wedding?"

Ji-ho blushing with a smile. Anderson said in jest, "You are blushing..."

"Where are we going, Kang?" While riding alongside Kang, Aera asks. "My brother is surely going to kill me if he finds out I'm with you and out of the palace."

"Slow down. I'll watch out for him," as Kang said, halting his car.

They walk into a big mall. Aera exclaims, "What are we doing here? Shopping…!"

"We are throwing a large party in our Palace in two days. Various Mafias, gangster gonna attend the gathering. Similar to a get-together meeting... Next to Anderson, your parents are extremely famous around mobsters." Kang scans Aera from toe to head.

He adds, "I didn't see you, wear a nice dress. You always dress in over-sized shirts and jeans. Buy some elegant party attire here. Take what you want; it's on me."

Aera hesitantly nods, "Yes, thank you."

Both headed to a clothes boutique, where Aera purchased several outfits. While they are paying cash at the counter, a man asks, "Is my coat ready?"

The sales lady replies, "Yes, sir. Hold on a second."

Aera saw Kang glaring aggressively at him. After the man has left with the packages, she inquires, "Kang, why are you looking at him with anger? Is something happened?"

"A lot of things happened between me and Anderson," he retorted fiercely.

"Anderson..."

"He is one of Anderson's guard. I hate him when he returned..."

"Jimin is here!"

Aera hurriedly handed the bag to him, "Kang, I have to use the restroom, urgently. Something wrong with my stomach. Keep an eye out for me at the entrance." She flies away as she says.

"Stomach upset…!"

Her eyes were wandering for the man in the crowd. She asks the shop keeper, "Excuse me, could you offer me paper and a pen."

She hurried over to the man, who is heading to the Men's toilet. "Aish... Men's toilet."

She enters the men's restroom without a second thought. Everyone in the lavatory is startled. Some males ask, "What are you doing here? Don't you have eyes? It is for men's use."

"I know... Don't be alarmed. I didn't see anything," She looks for that person. When she located him, she said, "You..." She walked up to him.

That man is Cho, Anderson's guard. When Aera approached him, he instantly froze. Aera gave him a letter, "You are Anderson's guard, right?"

"No. I know nobody by that name."

Aera gasps, "I am aware that you are his guard. I don't have much time. Do me a favor; please pass it to Anderson."

She did not respond to his query, but ran away, as she had stated. Cho asks, "Girl, wait… who are you...?" He is perplexed as he examines the letter.

Aera crashed next to a woman as she quickly raced towards Kang's direction. That woman spilled coffee on Aera's shirt. Aera admits, "I am sorry, that's my mistake. I didn't say that you were coming."

That woman chuckles, "I am the one who spills the coffee. Why are you saying apologizing?"

"What happened, Aera?" asked Kang as he drew near to Aera. He looks at the woman as he asks, "You…? We've already met, right?"

That woman say, "You are Kang, right?"

Aera was giving them a blank look. She picks up the phone as it rings for that woman. Aera wonders, "You know her...!"

"I encountered him three or four times at your brother's firm. She is Lucas's..."

"Girlfriend…?"

"You know what, your family is quite complicated. In my knowledge, what I know about your family is all lies. Your family's secrets, which I don't know about, are also lies."

"I am a bit confused."

"I, too, confused when I look at your family," both of them were muttering.

That woman says, "Now that I've heard, Lucas is staying at your Blue Mountain Palace. Could you give me a ride?"

Kang responds with a smile, "Sure."

Anderson recalls the time he made a visit to Aera's home. Additionally, Jenny's restaurant, which was totally damaged.

He also remembers the man said, "I looked up the address you provided. When I queried the neighbors, they replied that they had been there for four days before; suddenly, they vanished out of nowhere. The entire flower garden and the house were in horrible condition, and had collapsed."

He was moving around the room while continually reflecting on the issue. Rang says as she walks inside Anderson's work-room, "You are lost in thought. What is it? Tell me."

"No, if I say so, you will get confused."

"No. Who said that to you? In high schooling, I outperformed you academically in every subject. Tell me. What's going on?"

Anderson begins, "There is a girl, who lives alone."

"What girl? Does she not have a name?"

"No. Just an unknown-name-girl who resides in an unknown-city. Her family abandoned her in an orphanage when she was five years old."

"Such a cruel family."

"Don't interrupt me. Her child would be in danger if she allowed them to keep her with them, according to some unknown-shaman prophecy. So they left her behind. She was raised alone. Things are going quite well. One day, an unknown-girl just vanished into thin air. What happened to her?"

Rang gave some thought and said, "Unknown-girl lived in an unknown-city… Maybe, the Shaman again said that, Ahh… like…. May be that prophecy period had passed, so she may have gone to her parents."

"Here is the problem, unknown-girl parents too vanished into from nowhere."

Rang seemed slightly puzzled, and remarked, "Perhaps that fore-teller indicated it would be best if they left the country for the sake of that unknown-girl."

Anderson again adds, "May be that makes a little bit of sense. But…"

"What but?"

"Unknown-girl friend also disappeared; when I went to the place of an unknown-girl friend, it was completely destroyed, and she wasn't there. The home of an unknown-girl parents was similarly in the same state of total collapse."

Rang was completely confused, "Unknown-girl… vanished… parents vanished..."

Anderson shook his head, "Yes… And friends too."

"Hey, how could I answer this query? No name for the girl, and she abruptly disappeared from where she was residing… Just provide me with the address. I will look into it."

"No. Just figure it out with the given clues."

"Hey, you didn't even give me the clues. Just give me the parents address."

"No…. Use your brain, Rang. You were the top student in our class. Give some thinking, you will find the answer."

"Are you insane? I am totally confused by this story. You find it on your own. Leave me alone…" He lamentably exited the room, "Unknown-girl… vanished…. "

Cho was walking across the lawn, "Should I give it to Anderson sir, what if it is some threatening notes? Or should I read this letter first, what if something personal thing on this letter?"

He was walking around the garden holding the letter when some black-coated men approached him and snatched the letter. Cho shouts, "Give it to me the letter. It is important… or less important… I am not sure. Give it to me."

One of the black-coated men hilariously teased him, "Is that a love letter?" As he says, he passed the other men the letter.

Cho tries to grab the letter, but he is unsuccessful. Another man says, "Is it from a girl? Is she pretty or lovely?" The letter was passed to another man's hands once more.

Cho begs, "Give me the letter. I had no idea what was said in the letter."

The other man says, "Then I read it loudly; everyone will know."

Cho says, "No, no… don't open it."

The letter accidentally slipped into the fire as the man opened it very close to the fire drum.

Cho screams, "No..." He approached the drum and put his hand on his head. The letter is attempted to be retrieved, but the paper is completely burned.

The black-coated men's are pitifully glancing at him. "Sorry Cho." "Sorry."

"Why didn't you keep an eye on Aera?" Lucas raged at his mother. "What if she ran away? That scumbag Kang..." Aera enters the palace as he finishes speaking, grinning broadly.

Lucas says, "Aera, where have you been? I told you to stay at the Palace."

She didn't even hear him say those words, "My brother, guess what? Who I came with… Ta-DA…" said with a smile. "Your girlfriend."

"Hii… Lucas," that woman says.

Lucas exclaimed in profound shock, "Bella…"

"Bella is her name. Whoa..!" Wonders Aera.

Rushing over, Lucas seized her hand and said, "Come with me."

"Lucas, hold on… introduce her to our mother." But he didn't hear what she said, hurried to his room.

Aera and Kang are eager to hear what they are talking about via the window in Lucas's room. Over Kang's head, she positioned her chin.

Aera asks, "Do you hear anything, Kang?"

"Nothing. But your brother is so furious."

Aera chuckles, "When doesn't my brother become angry? He is enraged with my parents, my father, and now you have joined us. Getting reprimands from him."

Kang says, "Your brother is such a crank."

"Obviously." They were talking while looking out the windows.

Inside the room, Lucas aggressively scowled, "Bella, what the hell are you doing here? Because of Aera, this place is already a mess."

Bella says passionately, "I miss you. How long I can wait for you to come to me. You don't even regard me as a living thing. This time I am not going to leave you."

"Stop it, Bella. Shit… don't leave the room till I say to."

Jenny and Han-na were out drinking at night with the rude gangster and his henchman. The rude gangster laughed and says, "I like you, young man. You are so handsome, dashing, and attractive. If I have a daughter, I will without a doubt, permit my daughter to marry you."

His henchman says, "Boss, but you weren't even married?"

"I overlooked that. If I get married, I'll let my daughter wed you."

With a big smile and a blushing, Han-na says, "Thank you, Mr. Daniel. With those hairstyles and studs, you look really stylish. You appear to be a university student. I've never seen a more attractive gangster." Both are slightly inebriated.

Jenny sits next to Han-na, frowned, "What handsome? I can't see any handsomeness on this gangster's face. Both lost their minds."

The gangster man passed out as they were conversing. He is picked up and escorted to his room by one of the henchmen.

"Hey Han-na, how could you manage to talk freely to that gangster? With cheesy words, university student..! Handsome...! He really is enchanted with your words. You are incredible."

Han-na added with a smile, "My father used to be a thug."

"Thug...!"

"Used, in past. Not a Mafia. And then he was a successful conglomerate; he leveraged his influence to enter politics. Now he is a politician. I was around thugs when I was young, so I easily became hooked on them."

"Quite interesting." Both individuals raise their glasses in unison and say, "Cheers."
