Nicholas was sitting in a helicopter across from Integra. Sitting next to him was two guards for Intergra. Nicholas was familiar with the target. One, Father Anderson, a member of Iscariot organization. A hidden arm of the Vatican and the biggest threat to Alucard.
Integra was focused on Nicholas, obviously she wanted answers, but the price was still too annoying. So, the only noise to be heard was from the helicopter's rotor. While an ocean did separate England from Ireland the distance was a few hours by sailboat and less than a half an hour by helicopter.
When they arrived, it was obvious that the building was covered in holy wards.
They arrived just in time to see Seras about to be killed by Father Anderson. Integra yelled for him to stop. He looked at her, the contempt in his eyes was obvious. He recited a passage from a prayer right before killing the two human bodyguards.
Nicholas had interceded the attack, preventing the father from place his blades against Integra's throat. Nicholas was holding the Knight's sword, surprisingly when he is holding the weapon of an active killer, nothing happens. Alexander looked at Nicholas and said, "Well, what dark corner did you crawl from? You reek like some unclean evil."
Nicholas smiled and said, "Nowhere special, just the same place as him." Before Alexander could respond, a massive hand grabbed his shoulder and sent him sliding across the hall. Integra looked at the situation and asked, "Who or what is this creature masquerading as a samurai?" Nicholas put away the sword and said, "The Oni here is a holdover from his predecessor's time." The Oni then charged at Alexander. Alexander in turn began throwing his enchanted blades. Then bats began swarming signaling that Alucard had returned.
Alexander looked at the situation and laughed, then he said, "An unkillable vampire and a monster that summons other monsters... clearly I need to preform further research." Then pages began to fly around obscuring their view and allowing Alexander to disappear.
Alucard began to lecture Seras, and the Oni disappeared. Intergra had questions but said nothing. They left and returned to the Hellsing Manor.
...
Father Alexander had just finished making his report. The fact that he failed to kill the vampire Alucard was vexing, the fact that Hellsing had somehow managed to get their hands on a new monstrosity without the Vatican noticing even more so.
Still as a faithful servant he will carry out the orders of the Pope, and the will of God. He was then greeted by fellow Iscariot members Heinkel Wulf and Yumiko Takagi. In Alexander's eye the two ladies before him were the finest pair the Vatican had in its service. Not wanting them unprepared he told them of his latest assignment.
They listened intently, wondering how best to be permanently rid of such monsters. While it filled his heart with joy at their devotion, Alexander couldn't help but wonder if there was anything they can do.
...
Nicholas sat in his room looking at his most recent arrivals. There were two, Samantha Nishimura and Lora Croft. The names were familiar, or at least one of them was. Something fun for when he returned at least.
Returning his thoughts back to the present. Nicholas was aware that Intergra was calling a meeting of the round table. Basically, it was a gathering of the people who were in charge of protecting England and keeping the activities of the Hellsing organization out of the press. Soon the Valentine brothers and their ghoul army would be arriving which will kick-start the plot into high gear.
A small growl could be heard from his stomach. He would need a true meal soon. The meeting was underway, and a crow was on the fence watching as a bus pulled up. A word came to mind as Nicholas saw this, 'Showtime.'
The gate was blown off its hinges, then the armed ghouls poured out. The Valentine brothers entered the manor, and the guards were torn apart as expected. He could hear Intergra shouting over the radio demanding answers and her guards screaming as they were torn apart in response.
Nicholas casually walked out of his room and headed toward the stairs. The distant gunfire and screams faded. He causally walked and when he reached the staircase he heard a voice yell, "Who the fuck are you?! Just causally walking along. You know what you need a good old fashioned skull fucking."
Nicholas turned to see a man in a blue track suit and has a face full of metal. The armored ghouls brought their weapons to bear. Then the Oni and Nemesis charged in. The Valentine immediately tried to aim his rifles, only to be interrupted by a hooked spear attaching to his chest. He tried to grab something, but the rifles prevented him.
As he was pulled downstairs, Nicholas casually walked down the steps. Jan struggled but could not get free. He then said, "Who the fuck are you!? Alucard was supposed to be the only monster in this house, but it looks infested with these ugly- aughk!"
Jan's rant was interrupted when Nicholas gave him a swift kick in the stomach. Nicholas knew Jan was just trying to give information to the Major and the rest of the Millennium group. Jan immediately burst into a blue ball of fire. He began laughing, his last words were, "Beware the Millennium!"
Nicholas began to walk towards the conference room, killing every ghoul that crossed his path. He reached the hallway only to hear, "Oh! Mister Nicholas behind you." He turned to see Seras with a rather massive cannon. Walter appeared just as suddenly, Nicholas said, "I've taken care of the ghouls, and one of the attackers burst into flames."
Walter said, "I see, did you manage to get anything useful from them before their death?" Nicholas responded, "His last words were: Beware the Millennium. Then he died." Seras sounded disappointed when she said, "That doesn't sound very useful."
Nicholas didn't feel the need to correct her. Right now, Luke Valentine should be turning into dog food. All that is left would be the debrief with Walter and Intergra and the subsequent clean-up. He wasn't even sure if he would be needed.
...
Intergra sat there, listening to Walter give the after-action report. The council members survived with barely a hair out of place. Still, victory came at the cost of her men. Walter was unable to confirm Nicholas's fighting method or even how he defeated a battalion of ghouls.
Walter began telling her about the replacements. A mercenary company called the Wild Geese. The reputation seems solid, but can they really replace the soldiers she had lost. Well, it is supposed to be a temporary measure until they can recruit and properly train new soldiers. Not a short-term contract in any measure.
But that was the hand she has been dealt. Integra then asked, "Was there anything more about those bastards who attacked my home?" Walter looked disheartened as he said, "Sadly no, despite our best efforts we haven't learned anything about this so-called Millennium Group."
Intergra sat there for a moment, she thought about Nicholas. There was a source of information, but the price was heavy. She could see if Walter learned anything at all, but there was no guarantee that it would be of use. She let out a sigh. She said, "Thank you for your hard work, if you learn anything let me know."
She got up and left. Walter was visibly confused, but didn't say anything. Integra soon found herself in front of Nicholas's room. Lately, not even Alucard could peer inside.
She entered, not even bothering with a knock. Nicholas was sitting at the edge of the bed. The room had a rather notable musk hanging around. He said, "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company." Intergra could tell it wasn't a question, he just wanted her to say it out loud.
She responded, "I'm considering your offer, but before I commit, I want to know what you can offer on the Millennium Group." Nicholas smiled and said, "I can tell you their history, who is leading them, how they are making those knock-off vampires, there last known location, who helped them get there, and how they are so well informed on your current situation."
It sounded like a lot, but Intergra was familiar with the concept of reading between the lines. Only a few things he was offering had any chance of being useful in dealing with her enemies, but it was definitely more than she had now. Her mind raced as she weighed her options.
Then she said, "Fine, I'll accept your deal but if you try to take advantage, I'll make sure to personally skin you alive." Nicholas laughed, then he stood up walked up to her, and gave a kiss on her cheek. He stepped back and said, "With that the deal is sealed, ask your questions and I'll answer. As well as a few other services that can be provided."
Intergra found her hand on her cheek, deciding to focus on the more important matter at hand she said, "Tell me what you know about the Millennium Group." Nicholas nodded and said, "The Millennium Group, a research and development group for the supernatural. Their original benefactor happened to be a certain German political party that lost its authority at the end of World War II. Their leader is a man known only as the Major, he is described as a insane, little fat man who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. After making a deal with certain members of the Vatican, they fled to Argentina. At the center of their research is the corpse of one Mina Harker. The majority of their current influence and information comes from fools who believe in their promises of immortality."
Intergra listened as new potential source of information became known to her. When he was done, she asked, "Do you know the names of the individuals from the Vatican who assisted the Millennium Group?" Nicholas shook his head and said, "Sadly no, recently the Vatican purged those very people. Those involved plead that they were under orders, but it was a lie. Unfortunately, whether they know it or not, the Catholic Church is able to partially obscure my sight. That being said, the one called Enrico Maxwell current head of the Vatican's section XIII has the information you seek and will gladly share what he knows with you to act like the church is all-knowing and to hide how blind he actually is."
Intergra had one more question, but it didn't have anything to do with their current enemy. She asked, "What is the secret to Alucard's immortality?" Nicholas answered, "The souls he's collected of course, whenever he dies, he bribes the devil and is resurrected. The only way to kill him permanently is to purge those souls or grant him absolution."
Intergra stood there for a moment, purging the souls from Alucard made sense but the absolution did not. Nicholas smiled, sensing her confusion he said, "The devil will always send Alucard back as long as he's the souls to pay, but the Almighty can't be bribed like that."
Not sure what to believe, Intergra left. She had the information she needed, and she had a way to verify, at least partially, that information. Still, something was bothering her, Mina Harker's burial site was supposed to be a secret. Either the Millennium Group got lucky, or somebody told them where to look.
