I ignored everyone as I walked into the courtyard. Ember was sitting next to my stepmom. Hazel was not there. I knew that she was with her mother.
I did not waste time asking questions like did you put thorns on my dress or not? It was all her scheme. I wondered why she did.
"Ember…" I called and she turned in my direction. She was surprised that I was looking for her.
She thought I would never find out the truth.
"Azrael?" Queen Ivy was also surprised to see me this early. She stood up and I walked to where my cousin was.
"Azrael, what happened?" Ember asked, standing up from the seat. She moved a bit from me and looked at me.
"Everything happened, Ember," I told her. "How dare you?"
Queen Ivy was surprised. She did not expect me to approach my cousin in such a manner. It was something I have never done. But Ember caused it. She went too far with her pranks or whatever she might have called them.
