Chapter 3 - - The Cause That Denies Nature’s Law

Day 23, Month 6, Year 248.

"One day before the great teleportation"

The Province of Manara, Fralias Union

North East Kolf Plains, Continent of Elara, Planet Eaven.

50 kilometers from Port Mayer.

An interesting-looking flag waving in the sky with its yellow stars that are scattered on the white background. Two men are conversing with each other with the breeze of the sea.

"The Dritas Empire navy will be on this coast by tomorrow morning according to the merchants, Master Gretalis are you sure your strategy will work?" his uniform signifies him as someone of importance.

"I'm certain, General. As long as there is no obstacle to the progress. How is the progress on the other towers?" the old magician stared at the high tower with a sphere-like structure on top.

"We are almost done with the other towers, the spheres are being placed on top of the tower as of now. They are ready to be activated on your command in about one hour."

Gretalis stroked his grand beard,

"Excellent. At the least, with this, we will be able to delay them long enough for the reinforcement to arrive at the port."

The general solemnly nodded, "I pray for your success. May Fras's light guide you."

"And you as well."

The two men's conversation ended with optimism, then they ordered their troops to rest after they are finished with the towers. Tomorrow will be the day their fates are determined.

Several nation important figures are curious about Gretalis's strategy.

At the same time, scouts are staring at the sea from watchtowers, observing the horizon for any anomaly.

Day 24, Month 6, Year 248.

06:00 A.M. Local Time.

On Fort Mayer's defense walls.

Activities are bustling everywhere. After the troops woke up in the morning, they all prepared the necessities for the upcoming invasion. From arrows, and ballista bolts, to cannon balls all the things are being carried to their weapon stations.

"Master Gretalis are you sure that this strategy will work? We are against 1000 ships with 50 wyverns carriers and 450 troops carriers! If this strategy fails then we are all doomed." the general asked worriedly.

To reassure the general, Gretalis explained the logic behind his spell, "There's no need to worry, the quantity doesn't matter. What does matter is the volume and as long as the enemy formation is not spread out too much, my spell can transport the enemy with a single spell.".

The general then sighed, thinking about thousands of soldiers under his command, "The reinforcements are three days' worth of travel from our position, and I fear that if this strategy failed then we may not hold them for long.".

Gretalis tightly gripped his staff and smiled at the general, attempting to reassure the general that everything will be alright. "Don't you worry, my dear friend. I shall show you the power of magic that will be protecting the Fralias Union from now on.".

The dire situation caused by the oncoming enemy force resulted in desperation and thus Gretalis will cast a spell that the world has not seen for millennia.

Gretalis realizing that his hand is shaking, then gently slammed his staff to the ground. With his chest held high and his beard majestically flowing with the wind, he closed his eyes, uttering a silent prayer to Fras.

After he finished his prayer, he take his time to check on his mages. They are prepared, calm, and determined. His speech has convinced them of an easy victory with their assigned job only requiring them to channel their magical energies —— one of the most simple magical tasks.

However, unbeknownst to anyone else, only Gretalis and the Fralias's generals know the truth. Gretalis is planning to replicate a lost magic that is only recently rediscovered in an old stack of ancient scrolls.

The magic became lost for a good reason, it is incredibly risky, and the magic poses a magnitude of danger that can potentially threaten the existence of the entire world.

But in the face of total annihilation, Gretalis determined that this is a risk that is worth taking. In the name of the future of Fralias Union.

After all, if other nations have been able to develop their superweapons. Why can't the Fraliasians?

05:00 P.M. Local Time.

The peaceful silence of the sea is suddenly interrupted by the sound of a bell ringing on the North East watchtower. A fleet can be seen carrying a yellow flag with octagrams in the middle.

As the fleet sailed toward the fort, the leader of the fleet can be seen standing on one of the biggest ships in the fleet.

He then signaled to one of his soldiers to start a magic broadcast to the whole fleet. After the broadcast has started he then started to speak,

"Today, we begin our first invasion on Fralias heartland! After almost three years of a grueling battle with their tributaries, we shall finally savor the glory we have long sought! Before the middle of the night, we will be occupying their territory and bringing pride to our empire! For the Glory of Dritas!".

"For the Glory of Dritas!" his soldier's shout echoed.

Inside the fort, the tension begins to rise, a soldier can be seen running to the main building where Gretalis and the generals have been discussing countermeasures if the plan failed.

The soldier then opened the door hurriedly and shouts, "Sir, the enemy has been spotted on the North East watchtower!" the soldier said while also gasping for air.

Then a general replied, "Turn on the alarm and prepare the towers". After the general said that he then stared at Gretalis and said "All hope is now on you.".

"ALL TO BATTLE STATIONS!!!" sounds coming from the alarm system that the Fralias Union had just recently developed.

Gretalis then instructed all the mages to wait for his command before channeling their magical energies, "On my command, I will start my spell and the mages must start channeling their energy.".

As the fleet sails toward the fort, Gretalis begin his incantations. The magical sphere he placed on top of the towers began to pulse with a purple light, then his mages channeled their mana to the towers. A bubble of purple light started to form in the middle of the Dritas fleet and also Gretali's stomach.

On the Dritas Empire Naval Fleet.

The breeze of wind on the sea gently touched the sides of the ships with the front side of the ships splitting the sea tides.

"Sir multiple purple lights have been seen on the fort and in the middle of our fleet, my sense is telling me that it's something very powerful." said a soldier.

"Light the cannons and tell the Wyvern pilot to take off, Now! We must start our offense quickly before the enemy finishes their plan." the general commanded the soldier hurriedly.

The general heart begins to feel uneasy and right when the soldier sends the command to the other ships the bubble suddenly enclosed the fleet instantly.

"Sir, the purple light is getting brighter!" shouts the soldier.

And then,

"Qui..."

Right when the general was about to give another order, the dawn sky that was about to go dark suddenly went bright. It's so bright that it blinds the whole fleet, then a voice can be heard.

"Apertum dies ostium".

Right as the bright light disappears, Everything enclosed within the bubble vanished, nothing managed to escape except a few 10 small ships. Then the sound of tumultuous wind and water trying to fill the vacuum that the spell left behind can be heard.

"Huuuuuuuuuuuush".

"Vuuuuup".

After the event, the few ships left to retreat to go back to their bases and report the devastating defeat.

Spectating the event, the Fraliasians troops stared in awe at the incredible feat that just happened.

With only dust remaining on the place where Master Gretalis was standing.

"May Fras's light guide you, Master Gretalis. It was an honor to serve alongside you." said The Fralisians general.
