I stare at the beast and wait for it to kill me then and there but it stares at me thinking
"What are you waiting for? Aren't you going to kill me?!" I don't want to taunt it but it's gaze is making me nervous
The Beast steps out further and just as it does more beasts come out of the overgrown forest
I swallow and eye them all
There must be at least 15 of them!
The huge black one that was first to come stares at me as I slowly lean down to pick a flower I noticed among all the other flowers- it was glowing in the moonlight.
The black beast growls at me once I manage to pick it and it steps forward coming towards me slowly
I stumble back now fully aware of the danger I'm in
"Don't come any closer!" I hold out my knife
I hear a grumble from a brown gold beast behind him and feel like it finds ghis situation funny
I hold out the knife as the beast steps close to me now the knife is on it's furry chest as he lifts his teeth to open his mouth
I wait for him to bite me but he keeps his mouth open and I notice he has blood coating inside his mouth
He needs my help!
I grab my medicine pouch on my side and tug a poultice out with special healing herbs
The beast bows down and opens it's mouth wide
"I'm trusting you not to bite me, beast" I warn
It grunts
I lower my hand into it's mouth and lay a minty healing herb onto his tongue
I take my hand out and he chews the herb up fast
I notice a gash on his back leg and one on his neck and below his eye
I reach to touch the one below his eye but the beast growls
"It's okay! I promise to be gentle" I look into the beasts eyes and feel warmth
The beast slumps down in front of me and I love around to his back leg
"This will sting a bit just hold still for me will you?" I whisper
The beast hisses in pain as I apply the herbs to the back wound
I sit in front of the beast and focus on it's neck before I reach for below his eyes and he growls
I hear a low howl behind him almost sounding female and a medium sized beast steps forward but the gold brown one steps close holding her back and it growls at her
"You will be fine" I finish layering the herb poultice and stand up but the beast jumps onto me and knocks me down hard knocking the breath out of me for a moment
"Let me go!" I scream as its face hovers over mine breathing on me
As if in slow motion its jaws open and it bites down on my neck and I choke as its bite hardens
"Ack" I cough as the beast lets me go and when I look into it's eyes I feel hot
"Get off of me" I grit my teeth
The beast sits on it's haunches before watching as I lay my hand over the bite
It hurts like hell as I stretch my neck and stand up
The beast sits there like a dog and I take out a herb poultice
I rub it on my neck and make sure to not dig into the wound
I feel 2 puncture wounds deep in my skin and gasp
Three of the beast start leaving and so do 7 more
There are around 6 beasts standing around
The beast I helped stands up as the last of them leave and I watch as it turns around to leave
"Wait! I need to do something" I run up to it and I rub my palms over it's fur and notice it's soft and clean
I step closer and lean over his neck noticing an outline where his neck meets his front legs
"Wha--" I feel him lift me up and I tighten my hands around it's neck and my bag as I'm thrown onto its back
I hear a shout and get a glimpse of Noah who's my childhood friend and hes running to us
"Celeste!" he screams at the beast to stop but it surges forward and I lose sight of Noah behind us as trees cover us up
Eventually, after some time we stop at a den and a large village protected by a fence going around it
I notice people walking around --almost naked and they don't seem to care
We enter a village house and two people stand there one a female and the other a male. The female smirks at me and turns around her blonde hair swishing behind her in a ponytail
The male blinks and his green eyes reflect sunlight from the window as the sun is rising
I step off the beast and before my eyes he transforms
In the beasts place is a guy at least 15 years older than me and his hair is short but not too short and he has blue eyes as light as the sky
He has a scratch on his neck and under his eye as well as a gash in his leg healing slowly
"I wanna know how you make your herbs so well?" he steps forward
I step back as I get nervous when his eyes look so threatening at me
"The problem here is we don't have a healer and alot of our wolves are wounded from a battle that took place a week ago and we desperately need someone that's able to make healing herbs" he explains
I hear shuffling and 2 other people walk in now flanked by morr of the pack
"We need your help badly" he thinks before getting down on his knees and looking up at me
I blush "Get up right now. There's no need to bow I am not an important person"
I work at the herb shop in town with Noah and Emma my friend who recently saw the death of her parents. The town knows I am well known with my herbs and flowers as well as something I've kept secret my whole life . I can heal if I want to. I can heal with my hands
"I'm begging you to help us" he says
I grab my bag and take out a small bottle of the herbs I used on him
"This can help 4 of your pack friends" I hand it to him and he shakes it making me mad
"Don't shake it! It's not to be mixed too much or it will have side effects!"
I grab it from him and turn to the wounded beasts
"There are 5 who need it bad and 2 of my top fighters are gravely wounded" he says
I nod finally relenting
"Elijah" he names off all the wounded as I help them
Sam. Jake . Max. Eleanor. Simon. Tyler. Megan. Xavier. Trevor . Arlo. Zack .Cameron. Dwight, Carlos and finally Astrid
The last one is terrible as his leg is torn open and his arm is bent backwards while it's hanging off him
He's unconscious which is good
"He was run over by a tractor the humans use to cut grass and corn mazes"
I hesitate
"I can..I can do something better for him but ...but noone ever knew I could do it so this will be the first time I actually help someone"
He nods
I turn my head to the man who's gravely injured and smile holding my hands over his arm first
The bone connects back to him as well as turning around and stitching back into place.
I hold my hands over his leg and do the same as well as stop the bleeding
"Woah" A few of the people gaze at my work
The man opens his eyes slowly and sees me
"She saved your life alpha Conner" the guy who I met first in the woods tells the burly man I just healed
Alpha Conner grunts and slams his fist into my stomach and sending me toppling to the floor and I gasp for air
His foot lands on my chest and he pushes down hard making my breathing shorten
"Father! Your hurting her!" The guy grabs Conners arm
I feel myself slipping but then Conner is pushed off of me and I'm grabbed and pulled into someone's chest
"No harm comes to her or I will kill you"
I step away from-- Noah?!
