Chapter 006 Emotional Outburst
The silence in the darkness of the night was heard loudly, the sound of howling echoing to each other, whether it was dogs or wolves. Night insects also did not want to lose, adding to the horror of the very gloomy forest. The sound of owls and crows was heard loudly, accompanying the sound of something flapping sporadically. Who knows where the sound came from because it echoed in the vastness of the wilderness.
''Hiii...'' Aninidra screamed in her heart, ''Is the forest always like this at night?! I didn't realize it... or is this just a feeling of horror because I'm far from my family...''
Anindira muttered with her hands hugging her bent legs. Resting her chin on her knees.
''Are you afraid?'' asked the young man when he saw Anindira who was nervously shaking with her eyes busy glancing here and there.
Anindira could only stare at the young man with a pitiful face. She stared at him sharply with furrowed eyebrows, trying to understand what the young man was trying to say.
''Don't be afraid!'' the young man exclaimed, smiling at Anindira while rubbing her head, ''I'm here to take care of you.''
The young man's voice was soft with his solemn face as he looked at Anindira.
''Here,'' the young man said while holding out a tree branch, ''So that you can sleep comfortably...'' the young man added while picking leaves from the branch he was holding.
The young man was seen squeezing the leaves and then trying to rub them on Anindira's body. What the young man did surprised Anindira, and she shifted a little, she reflexively avoided him.
The young man was also surprised by Anindira's behavior, who suddenly became wary of him. But, when she smelled the aroma of the essential oil, Anindira realized that the leaves functioned to repel mosquitoes.
The young man stared at her sharply because of her sudden alertness. Seeing that, Anindira smiled and immediately offered her hand to be smeared with the squeezed leaves. Just a little squeeze of the leaves touched her skin, Anindira's face immediately winced, even a teardrop came out of the corner of her eye.
"Ahh... Ouch... It hurts..." Anindira said, complaining of pain with a trembling voice.
"Does it hurt?" asked the young man, immediately pulling his hand that was rubbing the squeezed eucalyptus leaves onto Anindira's hand.
Although his face was expressionless, Anindira could clearly see the worried look in his eyes.
"I'll look for another one," said the young man. He was about to turn around, but was immediately stopped by Anindira.
"AHH! SIR... '' Anindira screamed while grabbing the young man's strong hand who was getting up, ''Sir wait!... Wait a minute!" Anindira exclaimed, her hand still holding the young man's wrist, "Let me see the leaves!" Anindira exclaimed again while pointing at the leaves that were still intact, then raising her hand.
"This?!" asked the young man while lifting a pile of twigs filled with leaves, "Um..." Anindira answered, nodding with a smile.
Anindira accepted the leaves and examined them, looking at them and smelling them, she then tore them a little and licked them.
''That's right, these are eucalyptus leaves!'' she thought to herself, knowing that, a sweet smile was etched on Anindira's face, "It's okay... It really stings because my body is full of abrasions. But, this is very good, it will actually speed up wound healing and avoid infection,'' Anindira explained, ''Huft...'' just now a smile was etched on her face, but, it quickly disappeared, replaced by Anindira's long sigh with a disappointed expression, ''Considering... I too, it seems like I won't be able to go to the Hospital... " said Anindira while showing a bitter smile on her face, especially when she mentioned the Hospital, her face looked a little wrinkled.
The young man could only be silent, he didn't understand what Anindira was saying, but his facial expression changed slightly when he saw Anindira's face wrinkled. The emotional changes depicted in the young man's eyes were responded to by Anindira. She smiled, she sincerely thanked the young man for his concern.
"Don't worry!" Anindira shouted to the young man, patting his wrist.
Anindira took the leaves that the young man had squeezed and rubbed them on her body while wincing and sometimes groaning, holding back the pain, unable to hold back, her tears finally flowed. Between holding back the stinging and soreness on her skin, or indeed the overflow of emotions in her heart that she had been holding back since earlier.
The young man was surprised to see Anindira crying. He lifted Anindira's face with a confused expression and tried to take the squeezed leaves in Anindira's hand. But, Anindira immediately cupped the young man's hand with both hands, her eyes filled with tears, but her lips smiled with her gaze directed directly into the young man's eyeballs.
"It's okay,'' said Anindira, then took a deep breath, ''it's okay,'' Anindira repeated, ''Don't worry!" Anindira exclaimed with a pitiful face while shaking her head.
"Hehehe... '' a strange laugh formed on Anindira's pitiful face, ''It hurts a little... Just a little... Just a little... It'll heal soon... Don't worry!" Anindira exclaimed, continuing to repeat her words, while smiling and accompanying the strange laugh, with eyes that continued to fill with tears.
''I don't know if you're crying because you're sick or because of something else. I want to comfort you but whatever I say you won't understand it...'' the young man said in his heart, seeing how Anindira was expressing her emotions.
In the end, the young man just sat closer, then lifted Anindira onto his lap. Immediately after that, he stroked her head. The young man didn't understand what was wrong with Anindira. He also didn't understand every word Anindira said.
Anindira was surprised when she was lifted onto the young man's lap. But his lap was so comfortable, even very comfortable.
Anindira was reluctant to think about things, didn't care anymore, her heart exploded, she finally cried her heart out, venting all the emotions in her heart.
The young man just kept quiet, not saying anything, his hands just kept stroking her back. A few hours later after crying to her heart's content, finally, Anindira fell asleep comfortably on the young man's lap.
*****
The sun had shown itself earlier, now its heat began to be felt on her skin. Anindira blinked, waking up from her deep sleep. Her consciousness was still not fully gathered. She remembered last night's events. If she had white skin, her face would have looked red now because she was blushing.
She remembered last night's events, crying and wailing in the lap of the young man she had just met. She didn't even know the young man's name. Remembering the incident, she hoped that it was all a dream, but when she woke up, she felt pain and soreness in her body. There were crumbs of dried eucalyptus leaves around her. Finally, she had to accept it. This was reality, yesterday's events really happened. Her body ached here and there, but she slept very comfortably, as if she wasn't sleeping on a hard and rough log.
''Emmhh... Ahh... This is comfortable...'' said Anindira as she woke up from her sleep while writhing to her heart's content, ''AH!... Sir, thank you all night...'' Anindira's words immediately stopped, with her mouth still wide open.
Anindira's eyes widened, almost popping out of her eye sockets, along with her heart beating fast. Her heartbeat raced with her blood flowing straight to her head. She was shocked to the point of barely breathing.
Her body was stiff.
In less than a minute, her face was pale white, fear and surprise exploded directly in her heart and mind. So scared, Anindira didn't dare to blink, she couldn't even swallow her saliva.
A large creature with blue eyes, with jet black fur that had been Anindira's bedside table since earlier. Or rather, maybe since last night. A black Jaguar was in front of Anindira now. A large Jaguar that was even twice the size of the black Jaguar that Anindira knew.
"Ja-jag-jag... JAGUARRR!!!" Anindira exclaimed hesitantly.
