Chereads / Overload (English Version) / Chapter 7 - SUNSET

Chapter 7 - SUNSET

Rena opened the door of her house, left her backpack on a piece of furniture near the door and took off her shoes to enter the house while she checked some things on her phone and threw herself on the couch.

-Ah… Tomorrow will probably be a busy day. Today we didn't do anything really important other than getting to know the facilities and forming groups.

Rena goes to a messaging application and enters a group that she had created to communicate between the members of the team.

~What do you think the school campus is like?

~ I see it very well equipped

~The cafeteria has very good dishes

~You tried almost everything on the menu…

~hehe…

~By the way, is Vesta-san online?

~ No, actually, we haven't heard from him since he said he'd see us tomorrow.

~Do you think it was something extremely important?

~I guess it must have been important, how important? we dunno.

~ He's inside the group isn't he?

~@Vesta Guerrero

~Let him read the chat

~…

~Will he still be busy?

Rena drops the cell phone on her chest as she lets her head rest on the edge of the sofa and watches the sunset through her window.

I should make something to eat...

Rena turns her body and gets up from the sofa to go to her kitchen, opens the refrigerator and takes out various ingredients such as tomato, lettuce, carrot, etc... which she chops very quickly and skillfully while heating a pan that she had previously placed , when you finish chopping, turn the pan over and pour certain ingredients into it while making slight movements with the pan and the spatula to sauté them. When she finishes sautéing them, she serves them on a plate that she had prepared beforehand and with that she concludes her plate, which she takes to the table and tastes a bite of it.

-Mmmmm, next time I'll add a little more pepper...

Just as she finished saying that, a notification bell rings on her cell phone, which she picks up to see the message.

~I'm sorry to have worried you, it was not a very important problem, but I had to attend to it at that time.

~It's okay, it's just that we were wondering what kind of problem it was.

~It was a personal problem that is difficult to explain.

~An ex?

~No.

~Then it is possible to explain

~Take it as a family problem

~Well Roberto-san, stop testing Vesta-san.

~I'll keep that in mind.

~The good thing is that it seems that wasn´t serious, right?

~That's right

~I'm glad to hear that Vesta-san

~Hey Rena, I'm your neighbor, but I didn't even ask you and recently I heard noises and I wonder if you live alone.

~That's right.

~ So you cook?

~Yes

~It can't be… and when I try to cook… I can burn even the water

~Hahahahaha

~I at least know how to do the basics when my mother is not in home

~And you Vesta?

~I know how to cook any type of recipe.

~You're going to have to prove that.

~Whenever you want.

~It's already a little late and I have unfinished business so I'm leaving.

~Okay.

~I will do the same as Vesta-san.

Rena turns off her cell phone, picks up her dishes and takes them to the sink where she starts washing them.

When finished, she goes to her room and opens her wardrobe where she removes a couple of folded garments and places them on her bed.

Immediately afterwards, she unbuttons the buttons of her upper garments and removes them to put on the outfit she had taken from the wardrobe, she falls into her bed with a drowsy demeanor and clutch her pillow tightly.

-… The time zones of Japan and Mexico are extremely different… they seem inverted. I think I'll sleep for a while...

A door clicked faintly in the distance and a voice echoed through the room.

- Dare?…

Rena answered the door automatically and still sleepily as she regained consciousness and the voice from the door knocked again.

- Dare?

Rena, regaining consciousness, gets up from the bed and goes to the door while she rubs her eyes and opens it, showing Sara on the other side of the door with a small bag.

-Ah… I'm sorry to wake you up.

-Don't worry, I was just resting for a bit.

-If it's a bother, it could be tomorrow.

- It's not a bother, come in.

Rena steps away from the door letting Sara pass.

-Oh right in Mexico they don't have this custom, but could you take off your shoes please?

- Huh?

-It is a Japanese tradition that shoes are only worn outdoors.

-Okay…

Sara bends down to remove her shoes as Rena hands her a pair of slippers.

- Are slippers also a tradition?

-Normally it would be a kind of special footwear called uwabaki, but they can't be found here so a slipper would be the closest thing to them.

-Ok

Sara puts on her slippers and walks into the living room of the apartment together with Rena.

-So what do you need?

-I want to talk about what happened today at the SPA, but it seems wrong for me to discuss this topic in the chat group.

Sara opens her bag from which she takes out sandwiches and places them on the table.

-I brought a little snack

- Oh!

-Yes, so… What do you think of the boys at school?

- Huh?

-I say that there are quite a few very handsome

-No…wait, we're just starting activities at the SPA. It is wrong to look for such things.

-Come on, don't blush for it, I also think that the boys we have in the group are good looking.

- We are not in a position to say that!

- Why not? It would be nice to have a goal, don't you think?

- B-But you don't just start in one place!

-Ah, I know, you prefer boys from Japan, right? After all, you were born there and that is probably what you are looking for and obviously in that case those of our team are not up to the standards.

- I did not mean that!

-Eh... Then you have someone in your sights? Tell me who is, Roberto? Vesta?

Rena blushes in a mixture of embarrassment for the subject as well as annoyance at Sara's insistence and can't help but go through all the boys she saw that day, but she quickly calms her mind by shaking her head.

-Moooo! You are interpreting things to your convenience!

-Hahahaha Ok I'll stop, but that was an expression it was pretty cute hehe.

Rena pouts in annoyance and looks away from Sara with an obvious gesture of indignation.

-Urusai…

- Uru... what?

-I'm sorry… I lost the expression in Japanese.

-And means?

-… I'm not going to tell you.

-Oh come on, don't be mean.

Rena flashes a small smile at Sara as she closes her eyes and tilts her head slightly, an action Sara immediately understands.

-It's okay, it's okay, I already understood... it's my punishment for being such an annoying girl.

-You're right.

-Well, I really just came to that, I'll see you tomorrow at the SPA.

-Of course.

They both get up from their respective seats and head to the door, where Sara picks up her shoes and leaves Rena's apartment.

Rena walks into her bathroom where she looks in the mirror for a while and remembers her conversation with Sara, she shakes her head and pats her face a little. She leaves the bathroom and goes to her bed where she lies on her back.

-Oh...it was a good day. I'm glad I got someone to talk to... I think my days here will be fun lol.

A few moments later sleep overtook Rena and she went to sleep.
