Ayden picked up quite a few items, some of which were marked rare, but they were only materials. Nothing major dropped from the boss. He could sell them to vendors and probably make some credits, but he decided it would be best to try to craft the items into something that would be worth much more. Luckily he knew how to fix things just by looking at them, so given that he had instructions, he should be able to create whatever was there without issue. However, he would also need the tools to do so. "Looks like I will not be able to sell all my credits. I will need to spend some credits on tools. But I think I can triple my money back…. At least I hope…."
Ayden collected all his items and then walked over to the flower that had fallen to the ground and picked it up. It was red and shaped like a drill. It was true to its name Red Drill Flower. "Now to head back to the city."
After checking the area one more time to make sure he did not miss anything, Ayden left the forest. He ran into a few monsters on the way back, which gave him a few more items, but the experience rate had dropped by a lot.
It was only when he arrived back at the forest entrance that he suddenly saw a person he did not wish to see. "It's you! You damn bastard, I will kill you!" Trasheater yelled out. He hated the fact that this newbie had killed him. He has played so many online games where he would rob new players, but this was the first time he had ever been the one to die and be robbed!
Hearing Trasheater's words, Ayden frowned and quickly rushed forward and drew his fist back. Since the bastard wanted to kill him, he would send him back to respawn! Trasheater would never have thought that Ayden would suddenly charge at him and at such a ridiculous speed. Before he even knew what was going on, he felt a sharp pain in his neck, and then the world around him changed. He sat at the forest respawn, staring at the sky in disbelief. "That bastard killed me again!"
Trasheater quickly sent a message in his team chat. "Guard the city entrance. That bastard came out of the forest! When you see him kill him!"
Earwax and Redtail, who had received the message, both furrowed their brow. They did not understand why they were going to the city entrance to ambush him. Couldn't Trasheater deal with a newbie with ease? But since Trasheater was their leader, they still did as he said and quickly moved to the city entrance and waited for Ayden to appear.
While this was going on, the ingame forums were blowing up…
IAmAGirl: Did you see that someone killed a mini boss solo?
ThatDude: @IAMAGirl How do you know they killed it solo?
IAmAGirl: @ThatDude Because the announcement only mentioned one person! Normally when a boss dies, all participants, no matter how small the contribution, will be named!
Isabella: I actually saw the fight! I was nearby, and it was really one person who fought the mini boss. And I will say he was quite amazing.
ThatDude: @Isabella You need to tell us everything!
Isabella: I recorded it. I will post it now.
Isabella, who was standing on a tree branch with a bat in her hand and a small mechanical imp on her shoulder. She started to upload the video she had taken. She couldn't help being mesmerized by how well the young man was able to deal with the situation. She also felt he was quite handsome.
The thing about CyPunk Online was there was no character creation. What you looked like in the real world is what you looked like in game. Only those who were willing to pay a hefty fee would be able to customize their avatar. But not many people knew of this method since it was something you had to contact the company about. The company did this for a few reasons. One was to stop kids from playing adult avatars. Two was to make the sync in deep dive between consciousness and the avatar sync up one hundred percent allowing for a more natural experience. Third was to keep an eye on anyone preying on the people playing. They had a comprehensive A.I. that tracked player movements making sure nothing funny was going on. If anything seemed out of place, it was reported to the authorities based on the location of those involved. It was a very comprehensive system and kept the game fun for all. Just this portion of the game cost them half a billion credits to create.
But one thing Isabella noticed when she was watching the video was that the young man seemed to be a new player. So as such, as the upload was still going, she hit the red button and canceled it. She decided it wouldn't be fair to expose someone who might not want the exposure.
Isabella: Sorry, guys, I can't upload the video. It wouldn't be right to expose them.
ThatDude: @Isabella You blue balled me! How can you not show the video after saying you were going to upload it!?
IAmAGirl: @Isabella Yeah, come on, don't do us like this!
Isabella snorted and closed the forum. She could care less what people thought about her. She stood up on her tree branch and stretched her arms. "Time to hunt! Maybe in the future, I will run into this Edge guy again."
Isabella jumped down from the tree she was in, her long black hair fluttering in the wind.
Meanwhile….
"You are both useless! How can you die to a newbie!?" Trasheater looked at his team chat to see both Earwax and Redtail yelling at him for setting a trap for them. They didn't even last a few seconds before they were sent to respawn. Trasheater couldn't understand it. He had no idea how that newbie was able to kill them so easily. The first time they were caught by surprise, so it was understandable, but this time…. He had finished all of them in a matter of seconds!
