"Now," he continued, his tone light, "tell me all about this girl."
Ginny hesitated for a moment before inhaling deeply. "Well… her name is Persephone."
"Lovely name," he remarked.
A small smile tugged at her lips. "It is." She couldn't help but think of Persephone's annoying, yet gorgeous smirk, the way her eyes gleamed when she teased her. "At first, she loved messing with me," she admitted, "and I thought she was just bluffing when she told me she liked me."
Her father raised an eyebrow. "What made you think that?"
"I don't know…" she whispered, staring down at her hands. "I just thought she wasn't serious."
Her father tilted his head slightly. "And what about now? Do you still feel that way?"
Ginny lifted her gaze, a quiet certainty settling in her chest. "No," she said firmly. "I believe her now."
