Who don't know about that year? people tend to not to. The reason were obvious. Many loses their family in this year, many people died in this year. No one, and literally NO ONE like this year. Some might show you a very distasteful reaction when they heard it being mentioned, some just didn't care but inside they clearly despised this year.
How come they not when, like what I said before, lose their family and the bestest of friend in this year. The cause? Pandemic.
Pandemic Covid-19, virus; Corona. Corona was said to start showing up in China. And because Chinese people is basically spread all over the world, they unintentionally spread the said virus. The virus also spread itself from the tourist that came to the said country.
And in this year too that some academics people found it very hateful. Pandemic, something children don't like. Children to teenager to adult did not like it. In fact, the children who hates schools and things really don't like it, especially the students from an elite school.
Why? because their grade is at the edge over the cliff! All their grades dropped to bellow average. The laziest students don't even like it because the one that is threatened here is their allowance, some were fine though, but they did found it irritating.
While for a girl named Emaline Harlotson, she hate everything about Covid-19 to the core.
She was an ordinary girl whose life were not any better than that of an average teenage girl. She had lived her 18 years of life like how normal kids did except the constant travelling after her mother's death and her father being out in daily basis which were 20 hours out of 24.
And right now, things couldn't get any worse now right? Well apparently yes! (A/N: That's is definitely a sarcasm in my eyes)
As you can read, she's right now sitting on a hospital bed. Emaline can't really do anything since the disease she's having were none other than COVID-19! An illness that just recently have an immunities to it but that doesn't mean it will cure her or other who got caught in the virus hand.
She sighed as she read over her book, she were still in the early stages that can't be cured at this point, but oddly she can still sit and do things... effectively.
Though the disease did make her feel so weak. It felt like dying were better than living right now. But she endured it, she need to.
She read over the book in her hand, it was one of the Rick Riordan's series book namely [The Heroes of Olympus] a series continuation of [Percy Jackson and The Olympians] series. She already read all Rick Riordan's book, right now she just reading them over again to have her "fun" before her death. Though the laugh is not really good for her health.
Her favorite character were clearly Percy Jackson himself, after all her first Rick Riordan book were PJO(Percy Jackson and the Olympians). She loved everything about it. She felt pity to the characters because of the constant PTSD that were clearly added to their mental state, especially Percy as he were leading over a war and his first war were exactly the day of his birthday and many people that were demigods and those who are close to him and he respect died, for example Charles Beckendorf and Silena Beauregard also not to forget Luke Castellan.
After she finished the book [The Heroes of Olympus: The House of Hades] she felt her emotions start to sadden. also a thought over about her own conditions which were not really good. Sighing were the only thing she could do.
She pondered over her life.
Really, things start to change after the death of her mother. Her father were becoming more distance if she see it in some imagination point of view while her mother were not in the picture of it anymore. She no longer had friends. And now to add to her suffering is having incurable disease.
Not noticing it, a tear fell down to her pale cheeks. Truly, she do not want to die yet. Not now, not when her father can't even move closer to her by 5 meter or anything proper, not when no one can move close and hug her corpse. No, that's not what she wanted, she don't even want to think about it.
She wants to live, live a life where she can do things like in the past when she were fine.
She then start to notice her tears flowing like waterfall. She grinned, it had been long since she cried.
"Ding!"
"Huh?" Emaline look at her phone, which were placed beside her bed. The doctor let her brought it since it did calm her down after some... things.
Emaline grab her phone and unlock it, she search for anything weird but didn't found any and see the red dot on the messages app. Curious, she click the logo and were greeted with an unknown number in it.
Frowning, she clicked the number and saw that there were a message for her. She read it and were dumbfounded by its contents.

Usually, she would just ignore it. But she were curious, and because she will die anyway, she accept it by choosing [Yes]
Emaline waited for minutes, but nothing happened. The edge of her right eyes twitched and she sighed.
She placed her phone at it's place before she use it and get ready to sleep. And not even 5 minutes later she fell asleep.
As she's asleep, Emaline's phone light up, showing a notification.

Emaline was woken up by the loud noises her phone made. She took it and see that it was an Alarm.
Right, I forgot to turn it off, she thought and turn the Alarm off. But when she was about to sleep again, a message took her interest.
She click it and were surprised about the content. So it wasn't a prank?
Now that she thought about it, she feel more fresher. Is it because of the said skill [Immunity of All]?
Before she know it, tears already crawl out of her eyes like waterfall. She didn't feel sad, no it was her tears of happiness. She's immune to all disease, that's mean she won't die because of Corona. She's not dying anymore. She can hug her father again. She can have friends again.
Emaline laughed with tears still falling down. It was so reassuring now. Happiness, Gratefulness, and Excitement was all she could feel at the moment, other emotions were ignored.
She heard the door swung open, turning towards the door, she can see the medic crews in their anti-covid(she call it that because she forgot what it's actually called) uniforms came in. They must have heard her laughs.
The medics, seeing her smiling and crying at the same time were confused. One doctor asked her if she can check on her, which Emaline agreed on.
The medic took her time checking on Emaline with a shocking result that make her shout out her thoughts, "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!?!"
Her colleagues hurriedly walk towards her to see the result that makes their eyes almost came out, and if it were cartoon, their eyes would be really coming out.
"She- ShE's cUrED!" One declares the already known thing. But that did make some of the medics fainted out of great shock.
Emaline didn't know what happened next, because she's happy and maybe her decision now will make her life better.
Though... She seems to forgot that there's a new app in her phone. And from it being installed, come along an unnoticed 'ding'
