Rani looked at the dull face of Sonu with a gentle smile , Rani was now currently 7 years old it's been 2 years since she came to the orphanage although innocent but the hardships of two years made her learn when is someone sad , she saw Sonu the 1st day she wanted to be friends with Sonu but she was a bit shy on how to say it .
But Rani saw how Sonu was always alone even when having dinner or on the playground she would always sit in the corner with a dull face so she finally decided to ask. No matter how innocent a child is once it goes through a hard time it will gain experience after all it is still human.
Rani was a bit hesitant when she asked Sonu " hello my name is Rani what is your name? " Sonu was looked blankly at Rani while thinking why did this girl approach her but at the same time she kinda felt a bit of let's say hope after all she was a girl who loves to meet new people and make friends.
When Sonu Heard her questions she was a bit surprised so she made a weird face but answered nothing less " my name is Sonu hello" Rani's eyes went wide in shock and blurted out " whoa I am an idiot!" Hearing this Sonu burst into laughter " phfff huhuhhh "
hearing Sonu laugh Rani got embarrassed and said " hey don't laugh like that ! " Sonu put her hand on her mouth and controlled her laughter somehow .
" Sorry but why are you calling yourself stupid ? " Rani was a bit reluctant to tell Sonu but seeing Sonu laugh for the 1st time she dropped her guard.
" Well I just thought you would speak to me or not so... but forget it I am 7 years old how old are you " Sonu was smiling to Rani as she replied" well in a week I will be 7 years old too , my birthday is on 23 August!!"
When Rani heard this she started to grin from ear to ear .
" Wow so we can celebrate it togather do you know here the aunty celebrate every one of us birthday with cake " hearing this Sonu got excited " really?? You know I never celebrated my birthday I only saw my friend's birthday parties!!" Saying this Sonu face didn't have any sadness as if she truly doesn't understand why not being able to celebrate a birthday is a problem.
Rani was a bit shocked to hear it since she remembers her last birthday celebrations with her mother when she turned 4 years old she only had that memory of her mother .
Seeing that Sonu didn't get what was not celebrating her birthday means , Rani decided to not pray further so Sonu will not know what it is and would not get sad . Rani gave Sonu a bright smile when she saw Sonu was looking at her with her doe eyes " yes and hey I will also give you a gift from the pocket money I saved "
Sonu gives Rani a baffled look " what poket money ? " Ok now Rani just hit her own head " owweww " and then rubbed it because she hit it with much force and the poor little Sonu looked at Rani with concern in her eyes " hey are you ok ?"
At this Rani was a bit annoyed but she wanted to be friends with Sonu so she had to bear it " I am fine just had a headache and pocket money is the money given by the caretaker aunty every month to every kid here to spend it like for Candie and chocolates "
Sonu Heard what Rani was saying so seriously then she nodded her head and said " hey if you have a headache I can massage your head " hearing this Rani again hit her head and thought , " out of the whole explanation did she only heard the 1st part with such serious focus although no one really asked me if I am ok or not I guess she has a kind heart."
Innocent Sonu was clueless about what Rani was thinking so she just looked at Rani with a questioning look and Rani looked at Sonu's face and smiled gently.
" So you wanna be friends?" As Sonu Heard this her whole face lit up with excitement
" Yes !!!yes !!!" without thinking she jumped at Rani and they both fell on the floor both of them started to laugh on their own fall.
