Chapter 12 ; Illegitimate child.
He was already sweating under James's scrutinizing eyes.
"Errr Err sir we might have a little problem" Alex stammered swallowing his saliva as if it has become as hard as a rock.
"What's the problem?" James asked his assistant who was still reluctant to tell him.
But Alex knew that soon or later he would have to say it, so he might as well get it done with.
"Sir, there's someone in your office, he claims to be the legitimate son of Baron, he is currently in your office"
James looked at his subordinate with a very angry look.
"When were you planning to tell me that?"
"Errh sir, the directors are handling the situation"
"You incompetent people" James sneered and strode with long strides to the President's office.
Even before he entered, he saw some people standing in front of the room and gossiping in bush voices.
But when they saw him, they all kept quiet and created space for him.
He walked without any hindrance and entered the the office to see that indeed his brother was sitting on the president's chair which was given to him not long ago.
There were other people standing beside him in the room, they seem to be begging him to reconsider his decision before the real president finds out.
But they were a bit late, the real President had found out and he just entered through the office.
"President please forgive him, he isn't always like this" some of the directors there decided to speak for him since they've known him for quiet a while and he had been acting like a responsible worker, no one really knew what was in his head today.
James nodded and sent them all out.
"What are you doing John?" He asked, his eyes very cold and his voice mirroring his expression.
"Of cause I'm taking my place, I should have been the president, not you some illegitimate child or whatever you are"
John was not angry at all, he was furious, and yet he looked so calm and collected, he was sure that James would let him take over today.
'All I have to do is to label him as the illegitimate child' he thought, and it would be it.
Since his father refused to take action, he decided to throw measures into his hand.
"I will tell everyone that you are an illegitimate and that the office doesn't belong to you, you hear me?" John threatened James.
But to his greatest surprise, James just started laughing out loud.
"Hahahah,! What do you think? That with just a little testimony from you and everyone will be under your feet and believe that you are right over me? You really must be dreaming"
James stood still looking very casual with his hands in both his pockets, he removed one of it holding his phone and dialed a number.
"Send the security in."
After he finished speaking, he returned back the phone into his pocket and smiled sinisterly.
"We'll see who's the illegitimate child now"
Shortly after, three hefty men pushed open the door and saluted James.
"He's an intruder, he entered my office and tried to claim my identity, see to it that this doesn't get taken lightly"
As if pressed by a button on a remote, the three men immediately went to John and took him up from the chair.
They wasted no time in taking him out of the office and straight to the police station.
Even while John was trying to explain it to them, they refused to pay attention and only obeyed the words of their President which at that time was James.
Many people saw John being dragged out of the office felt very bad for him because they knew him to be a good man all these while.
"He must be a hypocrite, how could he say all these wrong allegations against the president?"
"I'm sure there's something wrong, maybe he's sleep walking?" The people bursted out laughing when one of their colleague made that statement.
John became a pity and a laughing stock in front of his fellow workers.
Only when the police van reached the police station did he realize how foolish and reckless his act is, of cause James had made sure everyone believed that he was the legitimate son who's identity was hidden from the public until now.
"I must think of a different approach" he thought. "First I'll have to get out of this place.
"Sir what is your name please?"
"My name is Johnson Baron"
The police officer that asked him was shocked. How come they shared the same sur name with the President, could it be possible…
"Mr. Baron, do you by any chance have a relation with the president or the Chairman of the Baron Enterprise?"
Now was the time for Johnson to decide if he wanted to be affiliated to them from now or not.
