On one of the busiest avenues in city H, a bald man was walking while drinking a bottle of beer. The law in city H is very lenient, not preventing people who would like to drink in public. He was already half drunk, having spent the night in a nightclub. Unbeknownst to him, a young adult dressed in a suit and with a dog in one hand and a cane in the other, was slowly following him.
Elliot's usually expressionless face now had an amused smile. In his mind, 1001 ways to kill and torture Brance were being generated every second. He couldn't wait to make this come true, but he couldn't hurry.
He made the mayor of the city an enemy, and any chance he gave, the mayor would use this to get revenge. Elliot would only drive off these days because of this. If someone who saw him killing 5 people testified that he was the killer, his plans to go to Amerid would be thwarted by him not being careful. Elliot was still not recognized because he had changed his appearance and posture a lot, making it unlikely that anyone would associate him with someone who lived in some boarding house with messy hair and cheap clothes.
Brance checked into a luxurious hotel, and this confirmed Elliot's suspicions. In this timeline, Brance was already working in that underground prison. Brezik is known for having beautiful scenery and being a great place for tourism, making it an expensive place to live. Brance was staying in a hotel on the main avenue of the city H, this indicates how much he spent.
Knowing where he was, Elliot could now take it easy. As long as it wasn't in public, Elliot could do whatever he wanted with Brance, and not even his mother would cry over his death. Not long after, Jimmy arrived with a pale face. Elliot was a little irritated, because if he came to Elliot before he even found an opening, it means that something happened.
Elliot forced himself to calm down. He would have plenty of time to get revenge, the main thing now is to get enough money to go to Amerid and protect his brother's family. Even if Brance escapes today, Elliot knows where he will be a year from now. Even if he doesn't manage to kill the head of the guards today, he will have the opportunity to blow up the entire underground prison.
Elliot looked at his hand that was holding the cane, and realized that he was holding it so tightly that the joints were white. Knowing what you should do, and being able to do it, are completely different things. Elliot looked at Jimmy and asked:
"What's the matter?"
"Miss Margot called me, and asked the boss to drop whatever he's doing and go to where she is." Jimmy replied.
Elliot was a little surprised. He had expected Mk to have had too much to drink and gotten into some trouble, or Bruja's brother having taken a turn for the worse, but Margot never crossed his mind. Giving a tired sigh, Elliot walked with Jimmy to the car. On a curiosity level, this car belongs to Jimmy, but when Jimmy started working for Elliot, he offered his car to Elliot.
Getting into the car with Tin on his arm, Elliot looked out the window once again and thought about what Margot had gotten herself into.
"I hope she didn't kill her stepfather. Ha... the day has barely started and I'm already exhausted."
[Ding!]
[The annual mission has been triggered!
Destroy the underground prison!
Time left: 365 days
Reward: Unknown]
Elliot saw the mission and was stunned. For the first time, the system issued a useful mission. But the reward being unknown was annoying to say the least. He would have to work hard to destroy that place, you know? And yet the system didn't give him any motivation...
"Who am I kidding? That place would vanish from the face of the earth anyway. Hahaha!" Elliot muttered.
Jimmy, who was driving the car quickly through the streets of H-town, felt a shiver run down his spine seeing Elliot's grin and crazed eyes in the rearview mirror.
Maybe he made a mistake choosing his job?
************
Elliot quickly got out of the car when he arrived at Margot's mother's house. The door wasn't locked, so he didn't knock to get into the house. From the tone Margot called Jimmy, speed was of utmost importance. Elliot entered the living room, and saw that everything was smashed, with a broken television, broken furniture, mirrors and family portraits on the floor, and a broken window.
Elliot noticed the blood on the floor and on the wall. Elliot silently pulled his gun from the back of his back. Not knowing what he was going to deal with, Elliot left Tin in the car with Jimmy. He had just adopted his dog; he didn't want anything to happen to him.
The only sound in the house was Elliot's footsteps and the rhythmic sound of his cane hitting the floor. Crossing the hallway, Elliot saw Margot's old room. Calmly opening the door ajar, Elliot saw Margot sitting on the bed as she tried to comfort her mother.
Dulce still had that dead look in her eyes. Elliot knew this look well, after all, he had the same look on his face, the look of someone who had already given up on everything. Dulce couldn't see Margot's face. But Elliot could. She had a look full of hatred, the look of someone who was willing to destroy everything, just for revenge. Elliot tapped his cane lightly on the ground, to make his presence known. He put his gun away, so as not to frighten Dulce.
Hearing the sudden sound, Dulce's body shook, and Margou almost drew her gun, but seeing that it was Elliot, she visibly calmed down. She looked at Elliot with complicated eyes, but in the end just sighed.
"What took you so long?" She asked.
"There was too much traffic, that's a terrible time to drive around. What happened?" Elliot answered.
"Not here, wait in the living room, I'll be there in a moment." Margot replied.
Elliot waited in the living room for a few minutes, and soon Margot returned. She took off her jacket and unbuttoned a few buttons on her shirt. Seeing the scene in the room, she was filled with hatred once again, but soon she forced herself to remain calm.
She then explained to Elliot what had happened. As soon as Elliot left, Margot and Dulce stood in front of the house for a few minutes, sharing the pleasure of reunion and comforting each other in each other's presence. But as soon as Margot asked Dulce to come into the house with her, she noticed her mother's strange behavior. Her mother was desperate, and did not want to let Margot in.
Margot was never a patient woman, and her curiosity got the best of her. Against her mother's wishes, Margot entered the house, and saw the same thing that Elliot saw when he arrived. Then Dulce explained to Margot what happened. Margot's stepfather is in great debt, and he doesn't know how to pay and is afraid of being killed.
Desperate and with no way out, he decided to force Dulce to sell her body. Margot's brother, having discovered this, had a big argument with his father, and the argument did not end well, and the two ended up fighting. Margot's brother is a year older than Elliot, so he is in the prime of his life. He has managed to win against his father, causing him to move out of the house.
What no one expected is that he would come back later that night, and stab his own son. Margot's brother ended up in the hospital, and Margot's stepfather disappeared soon after.
Elliot, hearing all this story, almost burst into a rage, but nothing showed on his face. After hearing the story, Elliot already knew what he should do.
"Which hospital is your brother in?" Elliot asked.
"That same hospital you went to when you broke your arm. Are you planning to do something? Elliot, remember that this is about my family. If anything happens to him because of you, I won't forgive you." Margot said in a serious voice.
"It's obvious that I'm going to do something. You didn't call me here just to tell me what happened. You summoned the marquis from hell and you've already signed the demonic contract, there's no point in repenting now." Elliot replied.
Margot was speechless, but Elliot didn't give her time to recover from the shock. Elliot called Jimmy and asked him to bring Tin. With Tin in his arms, Elliot approached Margot and handed Tin to her.
"Stay here, to comfort your mother. And since I'm going somewhere far away, please take care of Tin. He's shy, so please don't tease him." Elliot said.
Margot was still too shocked to react. Elliot gave Margot a small kiss on her forehead and left with Jimmy driving the car. A few minutes later they arrived at the hospital.
Elliot didn't get out of the car and waited for Jimmy to call him. This hospital was not the best in town, but it was the most used. The reason is simple, it is easy to corrupt the employees of this hospital. Their salaries are mediocre at best, so they always look for alternative ways to get some money.
After an hour of waiting, Jimmy returned with information about Margot's brother's room and his condition. He was fine, although he had been stabbed, it was a minor wound. Elliot got out of the car and went to Margot's brother's room.
Seeing the deplorable state of the hospital and so many wounded people, Elliot firmed his determination once again not to be poor, and to make his own safety.
What guarantees that these people will be treated well? What guarantees that they will survive? Money doesn't buy immortality, but it does buy comfort, good doctors, and excellent medicine. Elliot didn't want to get sick and be sent to such a hospital.
As soon as Elliot arrived at Margot's brother's room, he noticed that several other patients were also in this room. Elliot ignored all the stares he was receiving, and went straight to the reason he was here.
A young adult was lying in his bed while staring distractedly at the ceiling. He somewhat resembled Margot, but He was taller, at 6.3 feet (1.92 m) tall. He had tanned skin, with strong muscles, and manly facial features. Although he looked like a strong man, Elliot knew that he was too innocent and kind a person for this world.
Elliot had always admired this trait of his, but today that would have to change. Elliot would teach him that to live in this cruel world, one needed antipathy and a good dose of madness. As soon as he saw Elliot, he gave a crooked smile.
"Hi, Elliot. What are you doing here?"
"Hi, Gus. I came to see how you're doing, and I came to warn you about something. But I'll take a rain check on that one." Elliot replied.
Gustav looked at Elliot strangely. Elliot had a nostalgic look on his face. For Elliot, many years had passed since he had last seen Gustav, but for Gustav it was only a month.
"I will be discharged later today. The doctors said it was nothing serious, my reaction time was good, preventing me from suffering any further damage when I dodged." Gustav said and looked at Elliot with the corner of his eyes as he stroked his belly, where he was hit.
Gustav wanted to follow the same path as Elliot, to fight in underground fights, but Elliot did not agree, nor did Margot. Gustav still never spent a day without training his body, always keeping himself at the peak of his physical strength. This is why Elliot knows that he takes it easy on his father. Gustav has the power to kill someone with his fists. This is why Elliot needs to teach Gustav a few things.
Elliot talked with Gustav for more than an hour, talking about all sorts of things. While for Elliot it was like a trip back in time, Gustav was amazed at how much Elliot had changed in one month. Elliot stood up and leaned on his cane, staring at Gustav.
"Gus, I came here to warn you that I'm going to kill your father." Elliot said as if that was nothing.
"E-E-Elliot, that was nothing, really, I'm fine. You don't need to get your hands dirty on my account." Gustav spoke quickly as he tried to get up.
Elliot stopped him from getting up, and said:
"My hands are already dirty, Gus, and they will be even dirtier in the not so distant future. Your sister is back, and as soon as she arrives at Aunt Dulce's house, she sees the house turned upside down, blood all over the house, and finds out that her father wanted to prostitute her mother, and even stabbed him. Knowing your sister, what do you think she would do?"
Gustav locked in place, it was too much information to think about. After years his sister was back, and the first scene she saw was certainly not pleasant. Gustav was feeling lost. He blamed himself for things escalating to such a serious level.
"Don't blame yourself, Gus. It's your father's fault. You know he won't change, and if he does, it will be for the worse." Elliot said.
"He will change! I swear! I'll talk to him, you and my sister don't have to worry about that. You're not family, and my sister has spent a lot of time away, she doesn't know how things work." Gustav was intent on getting Elliot to change his mind.
"He's not going to change, Gus. Have you forgotten the beatings he took for no reason? Have you forgotten that he tried to force himself on your sister when she was still underage? Wake up, Gus! I didn't come to ask your permission, I came to ask if you will forever be a mouse in a world full of cats, or will you become a demon that is at the top of the food chain? Elliot asked.
Gustav was immersed in thought. He didn't know how to act. As hateful as it was, it was still his father's he was deciding his life. He didn't want to kill his father or see him being killed, but deep down he knew his father wouldn't change.
"Become a home, Gus, protect your home, protect your sister. Protect your mother. Don't sink any deeper into your mediocrity, don't expect the world to respect your character and your desires. Make the world accept you, if the world doesn't accept you, enslave the world and force it!"
Arriving at the door of the room, all eyes were on Elliot as they heard Elliot's last sentence. Elliot looked into Gustav's eyes, and began to speak:
"There is a legend that I loved to hear when I was a child, it tells the story of the first humans in our world. In search of light to guide us through the night, the humans asked the gods for light, to clear their path, and to warm them in the cold of the night. In response, the gods with flames, embers, and destruction. After that day, humans swore to themselves never again to bend the knee to worship any god. We mastered fire, and created new technologies. Today, even if a god exists, he would die by our hands. Don't die crying for light, Gus. Conquer the flames and walk your path."
Elliot walked slowly out of the room, leaving everyone dumbfounded.
