Chapter 48 - Always & Forever

'K.. Kieran?' I barely managed to get out as my emotions overwhelmed me.

He smiled, tucking his hands into his pockets as he shrugged, 'The one and only.'

I was still shell-shocked at seeing his black soul, floating mid-air.

'But.. how?' I was staring, horrified at the spot where his body should've been but was now only black smoke.

'I jumped after you into Limbo,' He was still smiling and it made me so angry.

'Why the hell would you do that?'

He shrugged and looked away. I waited a few minutes for his reply but it never came so I continued.

'You had a life, Kieran!' I was screaming at him at this point, as tears pricked my eyes from frustration.

'No, I didn't.' He whispered dejectedly.

'Yes, you did! Leviathan didn't give a shit about you so stop mourning his death.'

He still didn't reply but stared at the ground. I walked up to him, forcing him to meet my eyes. None of us said anything for a few minutes, we simply stared at each other.

Then, 'I'll still be here with you, Náli.'

I shook my head, 'No, you won't.'

He opened his mouth to say something but I interrupted, 'It doesn't matter, there must be a way to restore you to your original form.'

My emotional side was shutting down, and I was trying to remember everything I knew about the lost souls.

'Náli..' He began but I was busy brainstorming, as I paced in front of him.

'We could ask Samael to restore you. His powers are majestic, there's nothing he can't do.'

'Náli.' His voice was a bit firm this time but I still ignored it.

'Or, we could try finding your body. Danae might know a spell for transferring your soul back into your body.'

'Náli! Listen to me!' He said in a voice that made me halt and face him.

He sighed as I trembled in anger, trying to conceal my emotions, 'The demon master is gone.'

'What?' I frowned in confusion, 'What do you mean?'

'He's vanished. No one knows where he is, 'He shrugged, 'I heard it from some of the recent souls in Limbo.'
