Chapter 24 - Bloodicure

I narrowed my eyes at the door, glaring at whoever interrupted me. The chills that I was getting as I neared the door already gave me an idea of who it was.

I pulled the doors open and was greeted by Mièra's grinning face. She pushed past me into my room, and I looked at her in annoyance.

I closed the door and turned around. Mièra was plopped on my sofa as if she owned the place.

'What do you want?' I walked over to my desk and resumed surfing through the papers Azrael had given me.

It was the data of all the souls he had collected and those that he was supposed to collect soon. According to him, this was practice so I could be just like him.

For me, it was my opportunity to learn his ways and eventually take his spot as the demon of death.

I felt Mièra's presence behind me and sent a small shadow hurling toward her.

'Eww!' She screamed, 'Get this disgusting creature off of me!'

I turned around and leaned against the desk with my arms crossed. She was jumping and running around the room.

'You're so dramatic, ' I said and raised a finger. The shadow shot toward me and was absorbed into my soul immediately.

Mièra glared at me as she dusted off her clothes, probably to get rid of imaginary shadow dust.

Then, her expression morphed. There was a glint in her eyes that I knew all too well.

'Uh-oh,' I began, leaning away from her as came towards me with a mischievous expression, 'Who messed with you?'

She swung an arm around my shoulders, and I winced from the sudden change of temperature. One of the cons of being Leviathan's daughter, I don't think I'll ever get used to it.

She whispered, 'We need to teach that good-for-nothing, seven-headed, ugly monster a lesson.'

'Ziliá?' I questioned. There were several monsters in Hell, but I knew Ziliá and Mièra had never gotten along well. I always joked about how they were arch nemesis and resembled Azrael and Samael's fights.

'You know it,' She winked, and I rolled my eyes. She pulled me with her, and I went along without further protest.

Mièra was a bit of a prankster but that's why I liked hanging out with her. Ziliá, on the contrary, was simply a spoiled brat. I hated Eurynome, and I hated his daughter just as much.

Mièra was chatting my ears off as we went down the hall. 'I'm going to turn her seven heads into toads. Or, I could just throw her into the fire chambers so she can burn for an eternity.'

I chipped in, 'I don't know, I'd like to see a hippopotamus with seven heads.'

She looked at me with wide eyes glistening in excitement, 'Yes! We could throw her into the fight ring then.'

We both looked at each other and giggled evilly. Ziliá was in the spa- as expected, covered in a blood mask all over her body.

That gave me an idea. I raised my hand and called forth a few shadows. I pointed my finger at Ziliá's blood-coated body and the shadows flew straight toward her.

Mièra was watching the entire scene with wide eyes as the shadows absorbed into Zilia's body. They would suck her energy dry like leeches until I command them to come back.

Before we rushed out of the room, Miera raised the temperature of the air conditioning. We rushed out of the room and waited outside the spa.

It took only five minutes, but Zilia's screams filled the entire hallway. Every demon passing by stopped to stare in confusion. Me and Mièra burst out laughing.

I raised a finger as the slimy shadowy creatures rushed back to me. We were busy rolling on the floor when Zilia's swollen face came into my line of vision.

I had just been recovering from the laughing fit when her face and puffed-up body had me almost in tears.

'You!' She pointed a finger at me and Mièra rolling on the floor.
