"I will kill you, Alchary!"
Selena hardly believe she could say it out loud again. The last time she did that, she was forced to enter the world of the dead.
Selena still didn't understand why she suddenly ended up here. [Maybe I didn't die. Maybe they just kidnapped me to the vampire kingdom. Yes, this must be a vampire world.] That was all Selena could say to herself.
The man she trusted to be Alchary laughed. His laughter sounded even crueller with a lifeless body lying in front of him.
Selena pointed the dagger at that man, watching and staying on guard if he attacked out of a sudden.
"I'll take her." He said to the other man who brought Selena there.
The skinny man gaped with trembling eyes. "Y-yes? B-but she's dangerous, Young Master."
"Are you willing to cancel our agreement just because your friend died?"
The skinny man shook his head frantically. "No! You can take her! Please, Young Master. She is yours!"
Selina frowned. As expected, that man didn't feel threatened with Selena. But what then, he chose her as a pet?
Selena lifted her chin, holding her dagger tighter. "What are you doing, Alchary!"
"Stop calling me that. You'll be beheaded if my father hears it," he said while casually pouring a bottle of blood into the wine glass.
That man shook his glass and then smelled the aroma. He smiled slightly then drank the blood until it was gone. Very clean, like an Alchary always did.
He approached Selena with a smirk and then took a deep breath. "You smelled like trash."
Selena didn't flinch. She came forward with her dagger ready to stab that man's liver.
"But since I bought you at a high price, you can't waste your blood before I taste it." He silently waited for Selena to approach. "Call me Ash. Not Alchary."
Selena immediately stopped when they were only five steps away. Ash? That was a very strange name. Alchary never called himself by any name other than Alchary. That name was like a cursed name that no one dared to mention. As if he would come if you called his name.
He put the glass on the table and then turned his attention back to Selena. Very calmly, he took the knife from Selena before she refused.
"You!" Selena wanted to fight but he was always faster.
That man who called himself Ash, gripped Selena's jaw and the other hand held her hand tightly. Selena couldn't move, couldn't talk and couldn't fight back. She hated it, reminded her of their last battle.
Alchary brought his face closer to Selena. From this close distance, she could see his beautiful face. "Isn't the best way to kill me is to stay close to me?"
Serena was silent. That was right. She could kill Alchary if she stayed close to him.
After seeing Selena's calming down, Ash let go of his grip. Selena remained silent, thinking about what he had just said.
"So, your name is—"
"Selena," Selena cut his word out loud. He had to remember the name of the person who was going to kill him.
"Only Young Master can give you a name!" The butler snapped at Selena loudly. It seemed like only he and Ash weren't afraid of Selena.
"It's fine. I'm not bothered by her name."
Ash returned to his couch, pouring blood back into his glass. He raised a hand, calling out to several maidservants who were standing terrified at the edge of the room.
"Clean her. I'll take her home."
The maids hesitantly approached Selena. They witnessed the murder that Selena committed, there was no way they weren't afraid of her.
Leaving a sharp glance behind, Selena followed the maids. Those vampires looked weak so she didn't suspect much.
They led her into an all-white room decorated with marble on the walls and floor. A large bathtub was in the centre of the room, filled with warm water and aromatherapy.
"I can bathe myself!" Selena let go of the maids' grip roughly.
While flinching, the maid continued to help Selena undress. Finally, Selena gave up and let them clean her body.
Selena was surprised when her clothes were taken off. It didn't look like the dress she wore the last time.
"Where's my dress?" Selena muttered to herself but the maids looked at each other in confusion.
Selena looked at her hands and legs. Mud and dust stuck to it. Even the clothes that she took off earlier were torn from various sides and it was no longer clear what colour they were. Brownish, mouldy and disgusting.
"No wonder he called me trash," Selena mumbled again. She ignored the five maids who were helping her.
Compared to the other girls, she looked the dirtiest and most disgusting. Selena increasingly wondered how long she had been held captive.
"I'll rinse you in the shower first. Come here!" A maid told Selena to follow her.
They were standing under an iron pillar. Selena didn't understand what they were actually going to do and why she didn't get in the tub.
Water suddenly came out from the end of the pole. Selena flinched back. "It's like rain," she said in admiration.
"Have you never seen a shower?" The maid seemed to want to mock but hesitated because of what Selena did earlier.
"Shower?" Selena couldn't stop being astonished while she has been here. The vampires have a lot of strange things as if Selena was transported to another world.
The maid rinsed Selena's body and then rubbed her body until the dried mud and the dust was gone. She then told her to get into the bathtub.
The lavender scent smelled very soothing. For a moment, Selena forgot that she was surrounded by vampires. She hadn't bathed like that in a long time. The last time before the massive vampire attack happened.
Selena allowed the maids to rinse her body and wash her hair. While she thought of the next tactic. Defeating Alchary in battle was impossible. Like the last time they fought, she lost in terms of strength.
Killing him at close range seemed to be an attractive offer. But Selena doubted why he told her about it. Did he want to kill himself? It was ridiculous.
When they were done they helped her put on her clothes and dried her hair with a strange tool.
"Does she need to make up?" A maid asked her friend.
"I think she needs it. Young Master doesn't like pale prey and her face is too pale."
They forced her to sit in front of a mirror. At first, Selena refused. They had touched her too much. But finally, she gave up after they pulled her. It wasn't that she wanted to obey their orders, Selena just didn't see these weak maids as a threat. She could get rid of them anytime.
Selena sat in front of the mirror with a sigh. Her eyes looked ahead, ready to see her face that must have been battered from the fight with Alchary earlier.
But she got unexpected sight.
A woman, a very beautiful young woman, sat in front of her right in the mirror. Or not. That woman wasn't in the mirror. It was just her reflection.
Selena frowned, her hand spontaneously touching the mirror. Her face wasn't there. Where was her reflection? Why was that woman there?
"Who are you?"
