Journee was silently listening to every word the officers were saying. She was dying to know who was inside her room. And how was it possible that he or she was able to get inside the room without the two guards even knowing about them?
Not even once she doubted her instincts. She knew someone came to see her and she wanted to know who. Who would visit her in the middle of the night without telling anyone? And then just vanish.
"Okay, and I am asking again, you saw no one roaming these halls?" asked Journee.
"No, Sergeant, no one," replied the first police officer.
"Are you sure? You were sleeping," taunted Journee.
"Maybe you had a dream. It happens after surgery, anesthesia, and pain medication can wreak havoc on your system," the nurse tried to explain.
"No, I was not dreaming. Someone was here. Who? Why? I have no idea," replied Journee while staring into oblivion. "But I will find out."
