After the massacre, William, on one hand, searched for days for a witness and on other hand, hid Journee and Caden from everyone. He thought if Caden cannot make it, at least he can get Zachary behind bars if he gets a whistleblower from his gang.
Even though everyone knew Zachary and his goons spilt all the blood in the Hall Manor, no one was ready to talk about it. William even approached the persons who were at the bottom of the food chain but after what Zachary did to his own family, no one was ready to cross him.
William searched and searched for days. He kept gathering evidence and one day someone broke into his house and kidnapped his daughter. The only thing he found in his house was a warning note painted on the wall "Stop the investigation and get back your daughter".
