SONS OF DRACULA
The vampire is clearly a winged vampire but he has more presence than the ones that attacked them at The Sea of Stars. His eyes are calm and his gaze deadly. He has a rough looking loincloth on him and his ears are pointy and long.
He reminds Rachael of Dracula who took on a similar form when he tried to kill them, she feel goosebumps on her skin and her hairs stand stiff in the presence of this vampire.
There are little bushes and broken bricks around the compound making it look tattered, a few skeletons and broken bones lie around, leaving only one narrow path that leads to the castle doors.
Hans stands in front of the path but steps aside for them to pass. Samuel leads the way but the vampire stretches his hand forward to separate him from the group, "Only he is allowed to step into the castle. The rest of you may wait here till the sons of Dracula settle their quarrel," Hans says.
Amanda's eyes glow briefly as she stares into the vampire's eyes, "I can kill you here and it would be like you never even existed," she says.
"You may try but I am not like whatever vampires you may have killed till now. If you challenge me you will find that I am quite equal to the task," he says without removing his eyes from hers.
"Don't worry, I will be alright" Samuel says and winks at them before he turns away to walk toward the doors.
"I know you may be thinking that once he is inside you can gang up on me and win then go after Master Alucard. Don't try it, it would be foolish" Hans says.
Elma furrow her brows, "Are you sure you aren't a sphinx? Because that is exactly what is going to happen," she says.
Like an invisible clock going in their heads they watch and count Samuel's steps as he makes his way toward the castle doors. He opens them and walks in, vanishing behind their huge frame.
"And that is the last of the bastard," Hans says receiving a response in the form of Amanda's fist to the right side of his jaw. He rolls across the ground for a few seconds before he gets his grip and hisses at the women.
"Come pale face. Let me light you up a little," Amanda snarls and charges at Hans who charges back, they collide against each other's strong blows, scattering and falling onto the grounds.
"Come forth," Hans shouts and like the Thriller song, hands burst out of the ground.
Gray and thin looking creatures come out of the ground with white eyes and drooling mouths, some of them have cracks across their bodies. Rachael swallows saliva hard as their presence gives her a deja vu moment.
The last time she saw these creatures was when she first met Dracula and he offered her as food for them; Ghouls.
Rachael feels sweat drop on the sides of her face and she tightens her grip on the two pieces of the spear, "Can you handle it?" Elma asks, "I can hear your heartbeat," she says, "Yes. I can handle it," Rachael says, "Good, because you don't have an option in this fight love,".
"Kill them," Hans screams and the ghouls charge with shrieking voices and bloodthirsty tongues.
Amanda does a quick spin and throw balls of fire at the first set of ghouls to come close to them, splattering them as they fly off the ground with burning flesh.
The girls stand back to back as the ghouls come from all sides; Rachael swing the two parts of the broken spear at her attackers, smacking their heads and necks, some she stabs in the chest before smacking their heads.
Hans flap his wings and takes into the air and watches the group while he circles them like vulture over carcass; watching and waiting for an opening to pick them off.
Amanda roars loudly, "Bring it," she says, punching through the chest of her attackers, burning them and smacking off their heads while her fangs come into view.
Little furs begin to grow on her body and claws shoot out of her hand. Her eyes glow and her blows get heavier; Hans flies low, close to the ground and grabs a few stones before going back into the air. He watches the sphinx and when her eyes are away from him he throws the stones and smacks her behind the head.
She groans and growls before glaring at the winged vampire in the air; with her eyes away from the ghouls, one of them grab her shoulders and sink its teeth into her neck.
Like a reflex to kill, she reacts swiftly and sends her fist through its torso. She pushes her two hands into its chest and rips it apart before roaring to show the presence of a higher creature.
They aren't her competition, not in the slightest but the flying vampire may prove stubborn with the distraction she faces.
Horns begin to tear through her forehead and flames begin to grow on her hands, she pushes her hands forward and her flames extend forward to burn all those that come before her but then a skull comes crashing against her head.
"Fuck," she groans and staggers to one side, she roars in anger and begins shooting balls of fire at the winged vampire but his gliding skills are no joke.
Elma dodges the ghoul's attempts to touch her, she dodges and responds with a swift pull of the heart out of the chest. She smacks a few and break their necks, it seem like an easy gig but the numbers keep growing and the burden soon begin to take a toll as the ghouls get in a few punches.
She staggers backwards and her eyes turn red with rage, she snarls and charges with no restrain, tearing their guts and eyes as they come.
A stone suddenly comes crashing into the side of Elma's head and she stumbles onto the ground, she hisses and turns her gaze toward the winged vampire, she feels blood trickle down the side of her face.
"Amanda, we need someone to take care of that prick," she says, Amanda glares at her and back at Hans.
Amanda jumps into the air and her wings burst out of her back as she takes to the skies in a chase to kill the vampire. Hans flies around and lower to the grounds as Amanda gives chase.
Rachael is glad the ghouls aren't as fast as vampires or smart in their movements, she remembers her experience with Elena, Elma and Gabriel. She has not forgotten the little things they taught her when she was about to face Dracula. Compared to them these creatures are nothing but still a single blow could be deadly, she is human after all.
She dodges a few attacks, stabbing her way through the horde of ghouls. Step by step, little by little, her confidence grows as she fights through. The image of the hardships she has faced; the death of her parents, Gabriel's death, the dark world where she almost died, praying for luck as Poseidon found her dying body. It makes it all feel like nothing.
She screams as she charges harder against the ghouls but her momentum is broken when Hans fly low and his wings knock her off her feet.
Amanda is close behind but just when she thinks she has a grip on the vampire he turns into a cauldron of bats and she falls hard against the fall.
Hans remerges in his pale body and flies off, "You are nothing," he laughs as he takes to the skies.
Rachael struggles with a few ghouls that do not miss the opportunity to attack her on the ground.
Elma charges toward them but another ghoul runs into her, smacking her and dropping her to the ground, they surround her as she tries to fight them off.
The battle that started out on their side gradually changes momentum as they fight for their last breaths.
The end is nigh.
