Chapter 53 - CHAPTER 52: AMANDA'S CONFUSION AND AZAZEL'S SUSPICION

The sea becomes misty and the sound of thunderbolts give melody to the dark skies. Their lights reflect on the ship and sounds of metals follow like a church's bell. The tides become stronger and strange things appear in the sea with everyone seeing things that they are unsure of.

The sea breeze becomes intense and a whirlpool in the sea appears at a far distance, thankfully away from the ship.

The breeze soon carries smells of burning wood and smearing flesh but with no source of these smell in sight, it feels like they have entered a place they should not have.

Amanda flies to the top of the ship and looks back as she contemplates going back or forward. There is no guarantee that the rest will reach her at Mount Nagas, they could be anywhere in the realm.

If she goes back she can start a search for Samuel's mind. She holds her waist and paces about for a bit, "Fuck," she grunts.

She puts her hands together and closes her eyes, "Please baby, great Poseidon, god of the seas; navigate me through the realms and show me where I can find Samuel Stone," she says and waits for two minutes for an answer.

Nothing happens.

"Damn it," she cusses. "Maybe I should pray to daddy. Nope, can't have him involved in this," she says to herself before she sighs.

Her wings come out and her eyes glow, they flap hard and lift her from the ship; she turns back and heads for Green Harbor with an unconfirmed hope.

EDGE OF THE UNDERWORLD.

DRACULA'S CASTLE.

Alucard walks through the quiet halls of the castle, admiring the pictures of old memories. He sees a rare one of himself, his father and his mother, where he was still a little boy.

He looks at his mother's green eyes, something he inherited, in fact the more he looked it seemed that he was more his mother's son than his father's. But their natures is proof beyond doubt that he is Dracula's son. The love his father showed him as a child is proof that he was the only one he acknowledged as his.

His mind wanders to a time when he had his first taste of blood. He was only ten years old when one of the maids got her hands cut in a fight, back then they lived in Transylvania.

She was a young woman and head of the maids in the household but she was cruel to those under her and Alucard knew it. He couldn't be bothered though because she would never disrespect the heir of the castle.

One day, one of her subordinates snapped and attacked her with a knife which she blocked with her hand, her blood spilled and stained the floor just as little Alucard stepped into the kitchen.

His heart raced like never before and fangs he never knew he had appeared. The smell of blood was so intoxicating, he had never felt anything like that at that age. Without a thought, he sped towards the maids; he threw away the one with the knife like she was a piece of cloth.

She passed out and could not see the horror that soon followed, he bit her hand and moved to her breast. She screamed but he was deaf to her cries and his hunger took him to her neck, where he finally drained her of her voice and blood.

The rest of the servants watched in fear for they had never seen him in that way, none had ever even seen Dracula that way for he was discreet in his dark doings.

Dracula and Justina protected him and Dracula hypnotized the servants to forget about the incident but soon rumors still spread about the blood sucking family; it took years before the people had the courage to rebel against their household and for the love of Justina, they fled.

Alucard remembers it all. And on the day she was killed, his father went insane with rage. He took him to The Lantern and the rest of history followed.

He wanted his father to succeed because his mother did not deserve to die the way she did, if anything those lowly humans should have been killed. They let them live and one day they came for his mother and his father failed but he won't.

"Yes, you will not" the picture speaks as if to read his mind. He looks up to see his mother's picture glowing with yellow eyes, "You will recover their bodies and you will resurrect us," the voice says in a whisper.

The snap of fingers draws his attention and the glowing in the picture disappears, "Don't listen to that cunt," Azazel says, he leans against the walls as Alucard glares at him.

His brown hair looks dark in the blackness of the hall and his eyes even darker. He wears a white garment and stands barefooted, "What do you mean?" Alucard asks, "That is the voice of Lucifer. He probably wants to use you to revive himself.

Atleast, that was the gig when he was speaking to your father," Azazel says.

"How the hell did you get here and what is that you are wearing?" Alucard raises a brow, "I'm an astral projection so I'm not really here. And this is supposed to make me look like an angel," he says.

Alucard scoffs, "You are no angel," "Not anymore..." he mumbles.

"What do you want Azazel?" Alucard says and turns his back to leave, "I wanted to check on my favorite agent, to see if he needs any help with his vendetta," Azazel says.

Alucard's back looks huge in the shadows, "I do not," he says plainly, "Are you sure because I heard a demon was helping Samuel Stone cross the Sea of Stars," Azazel says and Alucard stops in his tracks.

He turns and sends an intense gaze toward Azazel, "What did you say?" "A demon is helping Samuel Stone, I just want to offer my help to even the playing field," he says.

Alucard grunts as he walks closer to Azazel, his green eyes stare into Azazel's and his fists become hard. A blue spark circles him and his eyes turn into a blue glow of stars, "I don't need your help. I can handle it," he says and turns away before vanishing into a blue spark of light.

"So you know the demon, eh" Azazel says in a whisper and smiles in the dark.

Alucard appears in a world of darkness filled with smells of filth and the sound of running water. The fashionable suit he wears turns into his traditional armor and he clenches the hilt of his sword as he readies himself to draw his blade at any moment.

The wind is steep and hot, the ground is muddy and filled with bones and other strange parts. He can smell a strange gas oozing in the air, he looks left and right and his eyes can see that he is in a passage between two mountains.

There is a stream between them, it is about twenty feet wide and it flows with leaves, twigs and limbs.

He looks deep into the dark skies and can see the limb of a giant creature move into one of the mountains, "Modu's world," he mumbles, "What is Legion doing here?".

As if on cue something falls into the stream and the sphinx swiftly pulls out his sword. He walks to the edge and sees a woman hanging on to the edge of the floor, pulling herself away from the stream.

She has black hair and he can make out a pair of pointy ears.

She pulls herself out and Alucard takes in calmer breaths as he sees that her lower half is gone. She raises her eyes to meet his glowing blue ones, "Alucard," she says with a voice backed with strange echoes.

"Legion," Alucard responds.

His long hair rests behind his back and his big frame towers over the possessed body of the woman. Alucard squats down to see Legion clearly, "Why are you here, Legion?" Alucard asks, "We chased them into the Sea of Stars and one of the stars swallowed us and brought us here," Legion says.

"When you say them I'm assuming you mean Samuel Stone and his bunch of friends. The human and the rest, right?" "Yes," "Are they here?" "Just the human," "So in summary you lost Samuel Stone," Alucard says and grunts.

"I heard you were aiding him," he says, "I have no intention of aiding him, I know what I have to gain when he dies," Legion says, "I see. Get to Mount Nagas, they will find a way to get there. That is the shortest route to my location," Alucard says and turns to leave.

"Wait," Legion calls out, "Kill this body so my consciousness will reconnect with the rest," she says.

Alucard swiftly pulls and swings his sword, beheading the possessed woman, "Hmm," he scoffs and turns away.

A red gleaming light catches his eye and he walks to the stream to get it. Its light is dim but it glows enough, he sniffs it; "Recovery potion. I don't need this," he says and tosses it to the side.

He walks away from the stream and in a flash of blue light he disappears.
