Chapter 96 - Mommy

The coordination room was already becoming a guest room for those two hybrids. It was not once or twice that Nicolas and Milles went to that place after fighting. However, it was surprising that they were called to a private meeting on a Saturday, when in a few minutes the Montreal team would travel to play.

All this strange scene lost to the intense look that the woman threw to Nicolas, who did not dare to return the look.

Milles couldn't help but feel uncomfortable in that absolute silence, as if those two telepathically talked him out. Should he say something? Why did she seem so angry?

Finally, the coordinator sighed heavy getting up from the chair giving the turn on the table to lean on it, remaining in front of the boys.

— Okay, where should I start? Oh, I think I know ― She murmured scratching her chin, widening her eyes menacingly at Nicolas. ― What the fuck do you have in your head to do the school in a motel, Nicolas?

Widening his eyes and gaping, Milles had come to petrify in the chair when the coordinator spoke to the omega in that way. Or he was even more surprised to notice the saying whose sneaky smile and return the look of the woman as if challenging her.

— I thought you'd still insist on the bizarreness of a fight. Did you really believe this bullshit about pulling a shower pipe to fight while we're cool?

― So I should call the principal and say that it was actually two students who had sex to the point of bringing damages to school?

Biting his lips, Milles crossed his arms cowering in the chair without daring to say a word in that discussion. The dark-haired curly coordinator had an aura so intense and fierce like that of the captain.

― I've been suspended, you've dealt with the situation... Do we really need to have this conversation?

— Of course. In addition... ― Slowly the woman turned her head in the direction of Milles, who jumped in the chair yet not dare to say anything. ― With him? Just with him?

― I'm as shocked as you are to know that I have lowered my level.

― Hey, what do you mean you went down the level? ―Mumbling the alpha frowning at Nicolas. ― I don't remember you complaining at the time.

Nicolas rolls his eyes as the coordinator arches his eyebrow toward him.

― All right. I had sex with a Mckenzie in the school locker room because some guy on the team said shit and I was pissed.

— I'd love for things to work out this way. I'm mad, I'm sleeping with someone. I'm tired, I'm sleeping with someone. I'm hungry, I go there to sleep with someone. ― Insinuated the exasperated woman. ― Nicolas, I'm doing my best to stay on top of this school and you're not cooperating.

— It's not like I want things to end this way! ― Complained about the omega settling in the chair making a grimace ― I'm trying to take responsibility here.

— Take responsibility for what? ― Asked the woman again peeking at the omega. Realizing he had said too much, Nicolas pressed his lips shaking his head, refusing to say. However, the angry look of the coordinator was more horrifying when accompanied by the whispered and slow voice. ― Nicolas Howard, what did you do?

Nicolas had said nothing but pointing his chin towards Milles. The alpha who remained quiet without understanding the interaction between them had felt a sudden need to flee. Flee for life itself. The coordinator turned to him with those same eyes closed to Milles, as sharp as a butcher's knife.

― What did you do?

― Teacher, we didn't do anything.

― Shut up, you won't cheat on her ― Nicolas complained in a sigh. ― I bit him.

Milles had seen the colour disappear from the coordinator's face, and he had felt that perhaps his own face had also pale. Why the hell was Nicolas saying those things to one of the teachers? Even more a coordinator? Would he be going crazy?

The woman denied with her head, and Nicolas extended his arm by pulling the collar of Milles's shirt enough to show the right shoulder where the bite was. Now that the connection between them was proven, the woman had sat on the table closing her eyes.

― Now we're screwed. We're definitely screwed.

― Not if no one finds out.

― You stand still ― The woman grumbled to Nicolas.

― Ahn... I don't think I understand what's going on here. ― The alpha had whispered leaning towards Nicolas.

Nicolas leaned on the arm of the chair looking seriously at Milles, whispering back.

― Mommy.

― Mommy?

Nicolas nods slowly, turning to the coordinator who caresses the temples. It had taken two minutes for the alpha to widen his eyes and straighten his posture in the chair feeling suddenly nervous. What for your captain was a fun scene to be watched.

How did he not know that? Your parents were not on the board for donating money to the school? They should have known that the coordinator would be Nicolas's mother. How much nonsense would he be going blind by chance? The two had identical temperaments.

― I didn't know...

― Of course you didn't know. I make a point of hiding it, so nobody bothers me.

— Quiet you two. ― Asked the woman after releasing a long breath. ― Very well, no use crying for spilled milk. Just tell me you weren't tied up last night.

― No, we are free.

— Great. ― Biting her lower lip, the coordinator crossed her legs looking directly at Milles ― You two are strictly forbidden from doing anything sexual inside the school. I'm gonna cover this time because it's emergency and I'm gonna fake dementia.

― What if I need it? Like, what happened yesterday was more or less for that reason...

― I prefer you do it at home. ― The woman said sighing. ― Does your family know anything?

Milles only shook his head in denial, still stunned by the newfound discovery. For Pelé's sake, the coordinator had the same menacing presence as Nicolas, and Milles was terrified of meeting her that way.

Was that your mother-in-law?

Should he call her that?

After all, he was in a kind of relationship with Nicolas. Or not?

― Since your family doesn't know, Milles, then I open the doors of my house to hide you. But know that I'm putting my job at risk.

― I will be careful, I promise. ― Calmed Nicolas.

Perhaps what was even more impressive would not only be the discovery of Nicolas' kinship, but of the soothing tone in his voice. Was that omega trying to calm his own mother?

― Wow, you can talk without growling. I'm impressed.

― If I wasn't like that, I would have killed you long ago.

― So all I have to do is not let you walk to keep my life safe?

— I'm not paid to put up with this ― Sighed at the woman coming down from the table. ― And use condoms, if I know you got pregnant Nicolas... You know what's coming.

― I told you he wasn't tied to me!

Knocks on the door closed the conversation, and when the figure of the fearful teacher Marcos appeared.

― Excuse me, I wanted to talk to Howard... is he cleared?

The coordinator sighed low agreeing with her head, extending her arm to help Nicolas get up and go to the door. But quickly she closed the door, turning her head over her shoulder staring menacingly at Milles.

For the first time in his life the alpha felt pressured by some adult. He would swallow in fear that the mother of his soul mate might have had a bad first impression. Well.. she knew him since he started studying there, so she would know his adventures...oh heavens, she would know.

She would know that Milles was known to be chicken, quarrelsome, to have never respected Theodore and Nicolas.

It would be a miracle she didn't get a bad impression of him.

― Milles, I need to ask you a favour.

― S-Sure! ― The alpha smiles nervously.

― Take care of Nico. ― Asked the woman to approach the alpha and smile tenderly.

― Ahn?

― Since you are in this situation, I am asking you to take care of my son. Stay by his side and never let go of your hand under any circumstances.

The clear and desperate request of a mother. Milles had heard of Nicolas living only with his mother, but had no idea what his family life was like. I mean, not until then. As surprising as finding out that the coordinator was your mother would be to hear a request like that.

Supplication, concern and trust. That woman was trusting him only to know that Nicolas had bitten him. If that weren't the case, she hardly confide at him a request like that.

However, Milles had already proven that a small part of him would protect Nicolas regardless of the request. That same small part that longed to take him out of that emotional hurricane the day before, forcing him to walk towards his soul mate.

It was definitely a one-way street.

― I promise.
