On Tuesday, Theodore was waiting for Gabriel at the school gate. Sitting in the classroom had distressed him, while in the courtyard he could at least admire the orange sunset. However it was somewhat strange to stand there with some students passing by looking at him and waving timidly.
The omega looked around him checking that there was no other person but himself there, just to make sure they nodded to him. And only then did he repay so timidly, pulling smiles from the people who followed his ways.
Were they laughing at him or laughing for him?
Theodore did not know.
— Good luck in the contest, Theodore! ― Dared to tell a boy that Theodore had recognized to be of the class of Lilian, waving loudly to the omega. ― The first year counts on you!
The boy waved even running down the street, leaving the others looking curious to the blonde. Repress the desire to shrug. Didn't he feel empowered when talked to Sadie earlier? Weren't he participating in the school contest in order to help the first year? If it seemed so pathetic just to get an incentive from a colleague, how could it bring victory to them?
He wouldn't dare.
Theodore raised his hand and waved back, opening a beautiful and charming smile.
Low euphoric screams, which were costly to the girls, gave room for Theodore to become the center of attention at that time. And to the surprise of the omega, it was not a girl who had approached him, but another boy. A tall boy in the school football uniform.
― Hey, Theodore! My brother is from the room you're representing. He talks a lot about you.
The omega blinked stunned at the sudden appearance of that handsome boy. He was tall with brown blonde hair. He remembered a boy in Lilian's room who had hair of that colour, outside the same one he had found in the gym on Sunday. Was he the brother of that player?
― I hope they are good things.
The boy laughed amusingly nodding his head, throwing the backpack over his shoulder.
— He's deputy class rep, and he always complains that the rep has crazy ideas. But it looks like this time she was right to recruit you for the pageant.
Oh, right... Lilian and her plans were gaining fame for the school. Although Theodore had never seen any plan of it go wrong. A great merit of the girl.
― I was also surprised when she invited me, but I admit it's pretty fun.
― It's nice to realize you're capable of doing something you've never tried before, isn't it?
Theodore widened his eyes subtly to that boy. He stared at the horizon seeming to be inspired in the heavens to tell him that phrase. Even his heart beat fast agreeing to that.
It was immensely pleasurable to discover to be good at something. Although Theodore had done nothing too much until then. He changed your look a little bit, and he felt different about it. It was so pleasurable to find this new self that Theodore wanted to unravel himself more and more.
A fluffy smile appeared on his lips, and along with the characteristic smell of omega, the football player looked at him slightly flushed.
― It's really cool. I'm very grateful for your brother's class in providing that experience for someone like me.
― I had heard some rumours about you, but I never imagined that you would be so good people.
Ah, poor Theodore. His heart quickened once more.
Was he making one more friend?
Ah, what a joy! A friend! And he seemed so cool, easy to talk to. He wanted many friends, Theodore longed more and more to have a student life as the films he loved so much. Friends who shared any situation. Real friends.
Finally Theodore could make friends, besides Nico and Gabriel, at that school.
Happiness was stamped on his blue eyes. His genuine joy made the football player laugh out loud while reaching out to him.
― I'm Lucas, nice to meet you, Theodore.
The omega had held the player's hand by gently squeezing it in compliance.
― I say the same.
The aura between those two was so tasty full of happiness, that it only broke when the football player felt a heavy and terrifying presence coming after Theodore. Looking over his shoulder, Lucas was the newest target of Gabriel's cold gaze that had just arrived.
A shiver had passed down Lucas's spine, feeling his instincts beg to go away. However, his legs froze in place.
― Theo!
Theodore had not let go of Lucas' hand when he turned back and found Gabriel giving him a kind smile. The omega, just seeing him so handsome in his training uniform, released more of his scent in pure excitement of seeing that alpha.
― Gabriel! You took your time today.
― I received a message from Milles asking us to take something for them to eat, and was separating some money...
Gabriel's almond eyes went into the hands of the two hybrids that were still leaning. Stealthily the alpha growled, causing Lucas to undo the touch and nod nervously at Theodore.
― We talked better the other day, Theodore. It was like meeting you.
Theodore waved to his newest friend and smiled widely.
― All right, see you!
Finally alone, Gabriel stood beside Theodore looking at his right hand. It was the one that was now smelling another alpha. Taking a deep breath before having the blonde's attention again on himself, Gabriel went out to Theodore's left side pulling him by the wrist.
― Come on, if it's not too late.
― Oh... Yeah, right. What should we take again?
― Probably something light, right?
The two boys went up the street towards the convenience store, where they bought angel hair and some vegetables to make soup. They conversed normally, though Theodore still kept in his mind what happened to Thunder.
He wanted to ask.
But at the same time, he feared the answer.
Besides, there was Sadie's situation... By heaven, how could he smile at Gabriel when his head seemed to erupt from so much that worried him?
To what extent should he pay so much attention to things like that? Wouldn't it be better to ignore? Or just watch until everything resolves itself? Maybe he didn't have to work as hard as he thought.
Lost in his own thoughts, Theodore awakened from them when he felt something hot holding his left hand. Looking at, he blushed to notice that Gabriel had intertwined his fingers.
― Since there's no one on the street, it's okay to walk like that to the captain's house, right?
Theodore had looked around agreeing with the alpha.
― I think so.
— Finally I can hold your hand like this. ― Gabriel sighed, plucking curious looks from the blonde. ― The training was very intense today without the captain and without Milles. I felt alone.
Scratching the back of his head, Theodore had lowered his eyes fearful of questioning.
― Did anyone comment on the story?
― They asked me what I thought. It was just as you predicted, they were afraid you'd show up there.
He wouldn't be surprised to hear that. Theodore had always imagined that the more he exposed himself as an omega in school, the greater the fears of other boys. He just hoped it wouldn't take him away from the team for good, because then he be alone most of the day.
Go to school and come home without being able to talk to Nicolas and Gabriel. He could only go to watch the matches from the stands, without being able to prepare the nutritious lunch for both.
It would be away from them. They could only see each other on weekends... And look there! Probably Theodore would feel lonely like never before.
― It'll be all right, won't it? ― The boy whispered raising his head as he approached the low wall house. ― One step at a time.
― Hey! ― Gabriel stopped walking suddenly, still holding Theodore's hand. ― I'm with you. You can trust me.
― I trust.
Theodore's cheeks had gained a lovely pinkish tone, and Gabriel had been unable to get close to the omega to kiss his cheeks. A kiss simple and quick, but that made a heart go crazy inside the chest.
That omega looked in love at that alpha. He pressed his fingers to Gabriel's, trying to contain the euphoria. He wanted to jump into his arms. He wanted to feel his kisses and caresses. He wanted to be closer to Gabriel.
There were so many desires, that his smell promptly denounced him to the lover.
Gabriel, in turn, had shortened the distance between them to be able to kiss Theodore. He stroked his cheeks with his fingertips, and took advantage of the calm of that evening to have the first kiss of the day.
Oh yeah, the boys barely had time together that Tuesday. Maybe that's why the alpha seemed so impatient to be alone with his omega. But he had to restrain himself, because there was still something to do.
Visit the captain and perhaps prevent the third world war from happening.
