I recounted my experience to the village chief, tactfully leaving out the portion of the memory fragment I witnessed. After I was done talking, he let out a long sigh and with a flick of his arm sleeves, a pine-shaped crystal object appeared in his arm.
"This is a low tier ranchuku crystal, although it might not seem like much it is more than enough for someone who is yet to step on the road of martial arts to use. We have a small low tier ranchuku crystal mine at the rear of the village. It is where we get our ranchuku crystals from. Although we don't have much, it is still distributed based on merits performed in the mine. I would also like you to begin cultivation. We might not have large compendiums of books like those from wealthy backgrounds, but we do have a few books on cultivation corresponding to each of the seven elements. You can choose what suits you. But before that, rest up, you must be tired, by the time you wake up, the books will be ready by the time you awake. Get some rest now."
The village chief said tossing me the ranchuku crystal. Clumsily taking a hold of it, I examined it over and over again, but I couldn't feel anything special about it. Setting it by my side, I shut my eyelids infinitely recounting the scene of the meteor crash, the most apocalyptic scene I had ever witnessed. Slowly my consciousness, faded and I awoke in a completely different area. I woke up lying on the ground surrounded by grasses. Standing up, I realized I was in a vast new world. At one side was a never-ending field of grass that stretched into the horizon, and at the other side was a similar view but with the presence of a simple looking hut. The picturesque scene looked like the art of a master painter as he poured his heart into his brush to create a masterpiece. From within the hut stepped out the lady from the memory fragment. She stood as an unparalleled beauty, staring at the world in complete disdain. Her premium jade like features set her apart from any beauty I had ever seen. Her porcelain white face combined with her perfectly lined jawbones and mole beneath her perfectly shaped glossy lips gave her a kind of mature sensual charm. Her beauty made it that you couldn't begin to think of disobeying her. She stood at about six feet, slightly taller than I was. Her curvaceous hips were only perfectly suited her bosoms and her charming face which added a childish allure to her already mature feminine charm. Her childish allure could make almost any man a pedophile. Of course, these were just wandering thoughts I had and would never dare speak of them to the light of day.
"What is your name?"
A voice rang reverberating in the innards of my mind. At first, I was startled but then I remembered that the same thing happened when I absorbed the memory fragment. Calming myself, I took a deep breath and responded.
"Hinata, Mahiro Hinata."
"Hinata, the safety of the inhabitants of your planet are in danger. The fiend known as the ancient one is coming and as of now there is no one to stop him. I know you remember what you saw that day from the memory fragment. That being you saw, he is the ancient one. Since times of old, many planets and worlds have fallen to him. He feeds on ranchuku crystals scattered all over the universe. His hunger for power is insatiable, as if some law of the boundless universe, whenever he completely devours all the ranchuku crystals on a planet it self-destructs and the planets residue serve as a catalyst for the growth of ranchuku crystals. And this time, my planet is the catalyst and now your planet is his prey. Your martial civilization has just begun from what I can tell from your memories and from how you cultivate you can not beat him. All hope falls on you Hinata, you absorbed not just a ranchuku ore but also a high grade one. While others have only martial skills of their inherent elements, you have the power of infinite choices. Every option from the seven elements to yin and yang, all of it to elements not yet discovered are at your disposal. All that is left is that you seek the peak of martial arts not just an extended lifespan. The question is can you protect those you care about?"
She asked. The question set a fire in me that burnt all other fantasies of just enjoying power. I had a goal, I had a purpose and I was not going to fail it.
