Chapter 2 - Hope

'Alex' Kaiser thought to himself. 'I told you not to wake me up unless it's important, didn't I?' Replied another mental thought. It was similar to Kaiser's but different. A slightly higher pitched british accent spoke.

This was Kaiser's Origin Skill "Parallel Minds", the reason of his success. It allowed him to maintain multiple thought processes at once. Though by some coincidence, a professor with a full science masters degree died at the same time Kaiser unlocked his skill. Effectively giving him a 'one-up'. He delegated a different function to each consciousness with 'Alex' having the task of assisting in creation of magic.

Alex had been his main source of inspiration and knowledge as his knowledge was milleniums ahead of the current technological advancements of his age. Along with his immense talent in the ice element, gave him the moniker of 'Emperor Of Ice'.

Even though this made him one of the top individuals of the world. It couldn't come close to the Monsters known as The Church's 'Saint Of Light', Gabriel Sanctum, 'The Demon King' Vergil Bloodborne or The Order's 'Azrael'. They had the power to destroy cities with a wave of their hand.

They all had achieved the peak of power of their occupation. The Saint with his mage class occupation 'The Saint Of The Moon'. The Demon King his warrior class 'The Demon King Of Swords' and 'Azrael' with his unknown class, though his occupation was only known to a few.

As a member of the upper rungs of society, Kaiser had access to a wide variety of information networks along with knowledge from Earth. He struck a deal with a high ranking member of the order to uncover Azrael's class in exchange for information regarding the true nature of mana. Though of course, Kaiser wasn't one to lose in a deal. He elaborated his discovery of a 'traitor' within the order and terminated the official.

Azrael's true class was known to a select few of the order. Though, it was known more commonly as The Overseer.

'Look' said Kaiser. Alex opened his non-existent eyes and saw the hand. He was elated that he could finally see something other than the black.

"Who may you be?" Kaiser asked with uncertainty.

"I'm your summoner, Eva Thorne" A soft and excited voice responded followed by a small girl entering the space. "Woah" she said in an exaggerated way then proceeded to mutter something under her breath. She looked 10 years old. Her white hair and amethyst eyes glittering in the dark of the void. Pale skin along with with rosy cheeks magnified her cuteness while her long, untied white hair floated in the air.

A trace of confusion flashed across his face before he finally understood his situation.

"So you are my summoner" Kaiser said as if to confirm what she said before.

"Yes, i'm Eva Thorne" she repeated once more, "What might your name be?" She asked.

After a bit of contemplating, he replied with "Thorne, call me Thorne". "Ah so you are a Thorne too?" she said elated. "I really need your help" she said with a bow and a distressed smile "Ofcourse I will help and return your favour." She quickly added.

Both Alex and Kaiser were flabbergasted. 'Is this the manners of noble families nowadays' they both thought inwardly. They couldn't deny the girl's request so Kaiser asked "What do you need help with?". "Can you be a teacher in my school?" She said shamelessly. In both Alex's and Kaiser's life, they had never seen someone so rash and bold to say something like this after meeting them once.

After some contemplating he agreed, if it meant regaining his (possible) freedom (though at a cost) he would be happy. "As long as you can get me out of here, I will agree" he replied. She couldn't hide the smile on her face as the corners of her mouth rose up. "Thank You Very Much!" She replied.
