Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: I died

I had died. I was only on my way to pick up my little sister from school, I had somehow gotten into an "accident" orchestrated by my dear brother.

It has been approximately 2 months since I have been reincarnated into the body of one Alia de la Ricci. Also known as the person who died before the age of ten never to be heard from again, only to make her replacement look good, the so called cannon fodder if you will.

Ms. Alia was from a book that I always read to my sister when she couldn't sleep at night (which happened on a day to day basis so I basically have it memorized) the story went as follows:

1) The heroine grows up in an orphanage, at the age of ten a ducal couple comes to adopt her because of how similar she looks to their dead daughter.

2) When she arrives the heroine learns that all isn't as it seems when the ducal couple start forcing her to act like their already dead daughter.

3) It is later learned that the original daughter died from a strange illness.

4) The ducal couple dies leaving the heroin alone with her adoptive brothers.

5) A series of unfortunate events happen to the siblings making the heroin be the brothers' only light.

6) When they finally get back on their feet the brothers have already become super possessive of the heroin and the road to the heroin's despair starts.

7) The childhood friend of the heroine who decided to work as a butler for the family when the heroin was adopted, turns out to be a prince from a neighbouring kingdom who was there to make alliances but ended up infatuated by the heroin's beauty.

8) A war over the heroin begins with the prince (now king) winning and everybody lives happily ever after with the heroine

What should have been a simple story judging from the summary was actually 18+ because of something that should not be mentioned.

For you see ms. Alia never died from an illness and was instead murdered, sadly it was never revealed who the killer was since the heroine was too preoccupied (and rightly so) with her own survival.

Personally I'm more inclined towards it being the brothers as they didn't seem at all bothered by their sister's death and were quite displeased with the heroine's arrival at their house, they wouldn't even let her out of her room for goodness sake!
