"Millie.. Millie… Millie" the hall thundered.
Receiving applause had always been her thing, with her smile getting wider by each passing minute; she stepped back as her colleagues got busy gulping down the shots.
"Don't be a spoilsport Millie," Eva pulled her to have one forwarding her glass.
"No" the answer was as stern as it could be. It's no surprise to her colleagues as they're habituated to her strong replies and her aversion for drinking.
"Come on don't force my girl" Jake fake warned them, putting an arm around her shoulder.
"Your girl?" Millie raised her brows as Jake pulled her closer.
"Yes" Jake's confirmation made her laugh.
"Having one sided feelings doesn't have anything to do with me and I am not your girl by the way" Millie added, pushing Jake's hand further.
Though her rejection hurt him, he didn't dwell on it as he was used to her rejections by now. However, he never stopped praying for a miracle which will make her realize his true feelings.
"Vish was hurt" added Jake, speaking about their manager.
"I know, he even refused to meet me. No worries he'll get a better employee than me" Millie shrugged casually.
"The company made your life and Vish was like a father figure to you Millie, how can you sound soo nonchalant about him? Don't you know why couldn't he give you a sendoff? The reason is he's personally attached to you," explained Jake.
"Ahh attachments…" Millie took a deep sigh throwing her head back, she caught the view of how her colleagues are enjoying their time having gala.
"Look at them, they did come here for my party, but the reason is their enjoyment and they do are enjoying their moment. None of them would feel a thing for my departure and see that's happiness whereas these stupid attachments are for no good" dismissed Millie.
"You say that because you have no attachments" added Jake.
"Correction Jake, I refuse to have attachments, that's not my cup of tea. Live your day, do your job, do as you want and don't get stuck in the emotions and stuff. Simple" shrugged Millie soo casually.
"It's the teenage that makes you reckless" Jake added sharply.
"Ohh come on, I'll be 20 n three months and it's not about the age. It's about my life and I will be the same ever, so don't waste your precious time crawling behind me" Millie asserted one more time.
"Yeah to chop every chance, you chose to fly away" Jake spoke dismissingly, while Millie took a sip of orange mocktail the bartender has passed.
Before she could come up with a reply, her colleagues pulled them away.
"At least for the last day spend time with us guys" Eva added.
"We want to, but you are busy in your world" Millie took a jab at their ignorance.
"Yeah sorry for that and let's waste no more time and use the opportunity to fullest. We are going to spice up the game of truth or dare before our daring girl departs" one guy from the group pulled Millie with him, as they were all well versed with Millie's escaping tactics.
She wanted everything a level high and these kind of games were regarded as silly by her. However, she gave in to play for one last time.
The bottle ended at Kara, who chose truth.
"So, what about the gossip of you having foursome?" winked Eva, hitting straight on the most gossiped topic of office these days.
"Yes I did that" Kara who chose truth admitted it, getting loud shrieks in reaction.
"How was that.." exclaimed another.
"Well guys your question is done" Kara managed to escape the situation.
The next time the bottle was spun, it ended at Andrew who picked dare and he was given a task to hand over his phone by removing the password.
Doing so Andrew looked visibly tensed as his colleagues pinged did something and cleared all of it before giving the mobile back to him.
Though Andrew begged them, none revealed it, while Millie just wished for the game to end soon.
The game went on high spirits and to people's anticipation it ended up at Jake, who went ahead with truth.
"How many wet dreams you had for your darling Millie" the question was asked straight.
It had not just stunned Millie, but also others who didn't expect that. However Jack was the one who stood neutral.
"Never" he said.
"Liar" the gang booed.
"Believing is your wish, but I am speaking the truth, yes I loved her madly. My passion for her have no bounds. She will the most beautiful girl I ever knew, but I never had wet dreams on her, leave that I don't even imagine such. The respect I have for is beyond anything" his eyes were boring deep into that of Millie's.
"Awww.." went their colleagues.
"One would only be stupid to miss such person" the jab taken by one of her peers didn't go unnoticed by Millie. Nevertheless, these are the things she wouldn't care about.
"So done with the game? Can we leave?" desperate to escape, Millie asked.
