" Jessica come help me with the dirty things in the kitchen " Mis sBeebute called out, and the girls who were pulling Jessica's hair left her alone as she got up from the ground and dusted herself off.
" You will not be this lucky next time stupid " Mary the meanest girl in bleeding heart Orphanage said and walked away with her minions , Jessica sighed in relief and she immediately ran into the kitchen to help Miss Beebute , who had a knowing look on her face as she watched Jessica clean the plates still smiling and not angry or sulking.
" Why do you still smile Jessica , the kids here bully you a lot, you don't report them or get angry at them but why?" Miss Beebute asked still confused at the girl's behavior , as a matter of fact she has never seen the girl crying or displaying any form of anger, she is always smiling, helping others and more smiling.
Jessica sighed " Ma'am those girls don't really hate me, they are just hurt and wounded and they want to be okay by hurting me, our teacher in school said hurt people bully people , so they are in pains too, that's why I don't report them, why add to their pain?"
Miss Beebute was so shocked that she dropped the laddle she was using,she has never heard a child talk like that and show so much forgiveness, because deep down she knew it takes courage and strenght to see people the way this little girls sees people .
And they continued to work in silence and then when the dishes was clean the girl skipped away like she just helped stop a nuclear bomb, her joyful nature was both puzzling and contagious because Miss Beebute began to lighten up more as well and found that she always feels lighter .
Then one morning there was a huge alarm as the kids in the yellow room ran out to report something weird, Jessica was dying , she was shaking all over with remnants of some slimy green things in her mouth, Miss Beebute and the matron ran to the scene and found her like that almost dead, they quickly rushed her to the hospital, where they were told told that she was forced to eat a spider, which explains the gooey stuff on her lips and in her mouth, the poison of the spider happens to be what was killing her slowly.
It became apparent that she was being bullied, they begged the doctor to save her and then the Matron left extremely angry, she tried to question the girls but nobody was talking or anything, so they started waiting for Jessica to come out of it, and when she did and was asked who made her eat spider, she just smiled and feigned amnesia , the doctor attributed it to shock but Miss Beebute knew that Jessica was , trying to protect Someone.
When the news of her amnesia got to the orphanage Mary knew that it was a lie, because when she started shaking after eating the spider she and her minions forced her to eat, Jessica told her that she will not remember who did it when she recovers, this really shocked Mary because she could never have guessed that Jessica can almost die and still continue being her good person.
When Jessica got back Mary immediately went to the room she was at and apologized in tears, but Jessica just smiled and hugged her.
" I knew you did not hate me, you just hate your life, but now we can be friends because I hate my life too" and that's how they became friends.
Later that evening when Miss Beebute brought Jessica's food , she sat and watched her eat, totally in awe .
" Why did you lie Jessica, Mary did that to you right" Jessica swallowed the soup and then dropped the now empty plate.
" Someday I would love for people to love me for my good heart and do anything as long as am the one telling them to do it , such kind of loyalty does not come cheep Miss Beebute, One day I will marry a man who loves me and we will have a daughter too, just like this girls and nobody will bully or hurt her because her mother would be loved "
Beebute shook her head, took the plate and left the room, and now two decades later , a girl was dropped by the steps,Miss Beebute now Mrs Scott picked up the girl and looked straight int her eyes and somehow she knew whose child she was , but was not too sure until five years later when she had her wash the dishes with her in the kitchen.
She has been watching the girl closely since she was brought in, and has noticed some similarities with someone she knew, she was very trusting and believed anything anyone told her, she would go out of her way to help you, but there was just this difference she doesn't really smile much, so anytime they had an alone time Mrs Scott would tell her stories about Jessica, and each time it always felt like there is a presence there.
Stormy as a child could get herself out of any trouble and still look innocent, she had a different kind of mind, a stronger mind than that of the other kids, more or less like Jessica 2.0, so out of curiosity Mrs Scott started asking about Jessica.
Few days to Stormy's 10th birthday the private investigator Mrs Scott hired came with disturbing news, a big envelope was dropped at Mrs Scott's door step, in a house that she lives alone because her husband passed away and they had no children.
On getting back from work that day, she picked it up and went inside with it , opened it up due to her eagerness to see what it is , and then after glancing through the content, she dropped the folder in tears, it had pictures of Jessica's wedding to Jacob Marshal, pictures of her pregnant, pictures of her funeral after she died during child birth and then lastly Stormy's baby pictures.
" Oh Jessica, my poor sweet Jessica, how did your daughter end up here ?"
