Leo didn't have the faintest idea on what to do with the woman restrained in his house, unwilling to make a compromise with him.
And with his pressing date with Lucia plaguing his mind, the young surgeon narrowed his options to only two options.
"I can't just leave her in that kind of cruel situation, before anything else, I am a doctor." He convinced himself, staring candidly at his reflection in the mirror, a satisfied smile crept upon his face.
He picked up his grey wool blazer from the dresser and slapped it over the blue denim shirt he had on. Which complimented his Navy chinos, dark brown shoes and belt.
"But letting her go sounds more complicated that it actually is. With her wound not fully healed, and the anger boiling inside of her. Heavens knows what condition she might wind up in." Leo thought aloud as he used his thumb to brush his eyebrows back.
He hadn't taken into consideration the fact that he was thinking about one woman, while he busied himself getting ready for a date with another.
Neither did he realise that he had slowly started to worry and care about the woman's safety.
'It feels like I've taken in a wounded puppy and now I'm scared to release it back into the wild.' his fingers curled into a nervous fist at that string of thought.
"The wild, huh?" A groan escaped his lips as he walked briskly out of the room and took calculated steps down the stairs.
As he descended, his eyes picked up on her slender back and her messy brown hair sprawled across it. To his surprise, she wasn't struggling to escape nor was she cursing his name.
Instead, she obediently sat still, staring into space, as though she were truly glad to be in his house, even if he had tied her up.
'Is she actually serious about this marriage?' he questioned, standing in front of the half asleep woman, gazing questionably at her.
"Are you sneaking glances while I sleep? Tell me Leo, are you really a pervert, or have you fallen for me already?" Vitto's sultry voice teased, her clenched her eyelids gently lifted, linking her gaze to his.
"Don't get full of yourself." Leo retorted, sharply staring at everything in the room, just noticing the nice shade of dark purple and grey in his dining.
"This is your last chance." He said and lowered his head to meet her line of sight. "Promise never to come here again." Leo forcefully said, "and I'll let you go."
Vitto could feel her heart almost leap out of her pounding chest, she didn't think having a man so close would stir her level headed mind. It seemed, as though, in front of this surgeon all sense of reasoning deteriorated.
"And like I've said before, I don't make promises I know I can't keep. If you really want me out of your house, slap a ring on my finger." She fiercely told him not mincing words.
Seeing as their conversation was getting too repetitive, he pulled back and relaxed his tensed shoulders.
"I'm going out, I'll be back soon, you have about roughly three hours to make your decision." He told him, picking up his car keys from the table surface.
"And if by that time you still won't budge, then I'll have to turn you over to the police." His threat was most definitely an empty one meant to scare her.
But, the conviction in his eyes was enough to allow the cocky woman understand the sort of position he was in.
Without any other exchange, Leo dashed out of the house and slammed the door shut, leaving Vitto to her thoughts.
'This is definitely for the best.' he concluded with a strong resolve imprinted on his face. His phone vibrated in his breast pocket, he reached into his jacket to pick it up.
His car, was unfortunately still at the hospital, after Vitto miraculously showed up at his porch, he hadn't found time to visit.
It was a text from Lucia, stating that she had already arrived at the restaurant and was currently waiting for him. He immediately glided his thumbs across the screen and sent her a response.
He had called a cab a while back and decided to wait outside for it, receiving a whiff of fresh air to cleanse his conflicted mind.
However, just as he rested against his white fence, a suspicious looking black van speedily pulled over and out of it came about five men all in matching black jackets.
Leo was no idiot and swiftly pulled out his phone to call for help. Luck, however was not on his side, one of the abductors was very quick to pull out his gun and shoot at him.
"Shit." The bullet had missed the left shoulder which was the aim point and shot through the fence, boring a hole into it.
In a flash, one of the men used the back of his gun to hit Leo hard on the head, causing the man to lose consciousness.
"Get him inside! Quickly!" One of them demanded, hurriedly rushing into the passenger's seat. The rest of them carried a semi consciousness Leo into the van then shut the doors tightly.
Without sparing much time, the driver started the ignition and sped off into the distance, leaving behind the surgeon's phone.
Inside of the house, Vitto distinctly heard the sound of a gunshot and felt her chest tighten.
"Leo!" She called out in a desperate tone, it dawned on her that he might have landed himself in some sort of trouble outside.
Hastily, she did the only thing she could think of and dislocated both her thumbs, allowing her fingers to silently slip out of the cuffs.
Although it hurt like hell, she jumped out of used her fingers to loosen the messy knots the. Surgeon had made. Still in a frenzy, she made her escape and dashed for the kitchen.
Like it was rehearsed, she pulled open a drawer and took out a sharp knife, then dashed towards the front door, a crazed look in her eyes.
"Leo!"
By the time she had reached the scene, her eyes could only catch sight of a speeding black van in the distance. Her heart sunk as the vehicle quickly sped off, completely vanishing from her vision.
"Damnit!" She cursed in an angry tone and tossed the knife at the street, to vent out her frustration.
Her index finger made a motion as though it were pulling a trigger, hinting that at that point in time, she wished more than anything to have had a gun in her disposal.
She looked around for any sort of clue, and found herself staring at Leo's phone, which his abductors had left behind. And even without her thumbs, she effortlessly picked up his phone and looked into it.
"He was about to call the police." She observed, forcing the words out of her mouth. Nothing could come close to the anger she was feeling at the moment, it was more of a blessing that she didn't have a gun with her.
Without sparing time, she dialled a number into the phone and hastily slapped it against her right ear.
The person on the other end didn't waste a single second to respond. "Boss." A voice resonated through the phone.
"Gather everyone and tell them to come where I am." She ordered in a harsh tone, setting the mood for the conversation.
"Understood." The other person on the line replied, failing to ask for her current location.
"Tell them to get ready for a slaughter." She vaguely said in a cryptic tone, sending across an animalistic aura.
