Chapter 12: Meeting Alpha Craven

CRAVEN

"How long?" I asked the guard at the door,
"16 hours" He replied, keeping his eyes trained on the floor.
"Not dead yet?" I asked, a cold hand squeezing my heart, no wolf get shot with that bullet and survives it, it's pure liquid silver, it dissolves into the bloodstream once it hits a wolf's body and kills you in seconds.
"No one has gone inside the cell since it happened" He replied, shuffling his feet.
"The hell you haven't" I said in a dry tone
I signalled and he opened the door, I had an Idea of who it was before I stepped into the cell room,
A low weak voice reached my ears as I walked inside.
"Answer me Lexie, it's time to leave!"
"Oh is it really time to leave ?, and says who?" Even though I've never heard her voice before now, it felt like I've known her since forever.
I got struck as she raised her head and stared at me, her endless blue eyes held mine curiously,
'Who's this man?' She asked herself, she couldn't understand why everything else faded into the background and my scent filled her nostril strongly.
It suddenly dawned me, I couldn't hear her thoughts earlier in the restaurant but now I can clearly hear them, why?.
'Who's he?' She asked herself again.
"I'm someone you should have never met" Craven replied her thoughts, his voice as hard as rock,
"You're the guy from the Airport right?, you also came to the restaurant didn't you?" She asked and wondered how I was able to know what was going on inside her head, but more importantly she wondered why I was here, why she was here.
"You're a smart one eh?" I said, not exactly giving her an answer.
"Where am I?" She asked.
"I think the question you should probably ask yourself is why you're still alive and not dead" I answered her question, she did a double take,
"I should be worried that I'm alive?" She hesitated,
"Yes, very much" I grimaced.
"Why am I still alive then?"
"That is what I intend to find out" I answered, I can't believe it's been 18 years since the 16 year old emotional me held her tiny frame in my arms, staring at her cute round face, I'm kind of curious to see what she looks like now,
it occurred to me then, even though she's in her wolf form, she didn't speak wolf but was speaking like she would in her human form.
"Please just let me go" She croaked.
"You're Shane and Helen's daughter aren't you?" I asked slowly, still hoping I was wrong but I knew what the answer would be even before she gave it.
"Yes they are my parents, but how do you know that?" Surprise as well as confusion filled her gaze.
I guess I have to give them a call.
"First let's find out why you're alive and then we'll talk about that" I replied and turned to leave.
"You can't leave me here, it's way too dark, smelly and I'm very hungry" she said desperately.
"If your nose is still working properly then I guess you're far from dying"

I could tell by Shane's voice that he had no idea Alexandra came to California, it was his damn business to know where she is at all time, what's wrong with these people?,
"I promise you Alpha, I didn't know they were coming to that part of America" His voice shook slightly.
"I told you never to let her come near this country and you allowed her to go on a silly trip!, I've protected her from this pack and her death for 18 years, but it doesn't even matter now, she's going to die anyway, the silver might not have killed her yet but it will soon"
If Shane was present, I don't know what I would've done to him but one thing is certain, he would have payed a visit to the hospital or his grave after I'm done with him.
"Wha... What do you mean by that?, nothing happened to my daughter right?, listen Alpha Craven, if anything happens to my child I won't spare anyone, I'll tear everything apart" he said in a dark tone.
"You would be able to do that if I don't tear you apart first, now get on the next plane and come here, and yes, make sure to bring your wife along, your so called daughter would like it very much if her mother attends her funeral as well" I disconnected the call.

SHANE

"Are you mad?, did you really have to say that to Alpha Craven?" Helen glared at me like she has been doing for the past 30 minutes since I told her everything that happened.
We're now on our way to America and Moonshine pack, this was a day I never thought will come, a moment I never thought I'll see,
I never thought a day will ever come when Helen and I or our dear Alexandra will go back to that place, but then the one for whom we had to leave in the first place, is the reason we're going back.
"Maybe I shouldn't have said it but I did say it and I don't regret it, if anything happens to my daughter—"
"Nothing will happen to her, but then have thought about what'll happen to you for threatening the Alpha?" She glared at me some more.
"I haven't thought about it, I won't think about it and I don't want to have this conversation, I'm stressed enough as it is, I love my daughter and—"
"Let me remind you mister, I love her as much as you do, just think about it, nothing has happened to her as of yet, but if you die then what do you think will happen to her?" Helen asked.
"Look here, nothing will happen to me or my daughter or you either and why would I even die?"
"Because he'll kill you"

AUTHOR'S POV

Alexandra shifted restlessly and uncomfortably, she feels so miserable and in pain,
"He only thought about my nose working, he didn't even think or say anything about me being hungry or in pain!" She muttered to herself.
"What a terrible fellow!, I wonder if he was hoping I'll die here, well I'll die anyway, if I don't die from the silver in my blood stream, I'll die from hunger and frustration" She wished she could atleast sit on her butt, all she could do is lie there feeling and looking helpless,
Everyone in camp must have noticed her missing now and goodness knows what kind of lies Pam and Jaime must have told everyone,
Alexandra still couldn't believe the kind of guy Jaime turned out to be, such a disgusting fellow and to think she had thought of him as a nice and good person, she rolled her eyes and turned her head away,
"Dead yet?"
Alexandra was surprised, she wasn't expecting to hear anyone speak to her, she thought he'd leave her to die.
"At least you're back to make my life miserable" She retorted,
"On the contrary I'm here to take you out of here" Craven replied,
That was another surprise,
"Really?, you're not joking around are you?"
"See for yourself" He said simply and walked over to her,
"What are you doing?" She stared at him,
He ignored her and lifted her in his arms.
"You... You just pick me up, like that?" She blinked.
"Would you rather you walk out of her?, you can't and I can't let anyone else take you in their arms" He replied and started working out of there.
"Why?"
"I just explained that to you—"
"Why can't you let anyone one else bring me out of here, in their arms?, and how's it possible that you can carry me in my wolf form, don't you feel my weight?"
"You'll find out soon enough" he replied without actually giving her an answer, he felt like stroking her fur, it feels so soft.
He stepped out of the room that looked more like a dungeon to Alexandra, he went through a long passageway that led to cells like the one she was kept in, they reached a stairway,
Craven took them out of the place and the bright light almost blinded Alexandra,
Craven almost dropped her in shock, her pure white fur shocked him, he has never seen anything like it.

"I still can't figure out why she's still alive Alpha, but one thing is certain, she won't be able to change into her human form" The pack's doctor said,
"She isn't dead yet because she's not only a wolf but a warlock too, so even if the silver killed her wolf self, it hasn't affected her other being and that's simply the reason why she's still breathing"
Craven stared at the old cunning man, he turned to look at Alexandra, good thing the doctor gave her a sedative earlier.
