He started his journey home with his new found friend with lots of hesitations and fear. Even though she is a phantasm, she was still blind. His breath and voice were her only guidance, as he prohibited her from touching him. At last they reached his mansion and yes you heard it right "Mansion". He wasn't poor but a CEO of a leading company and only heir of a multi millionaire.
She was very inquisitive and she wanted to know more about him and started conversing with him. At first he was quite scared of her but slowly he started to like her company. He welcomed her into his home which was as silent as a graveyard since he had none alive at the present moment. He thought she would be overwhelmed when he told her that he was a CEO but she rather thought his job was boring, which hit his ego very hard.
She was the first person who did not flirt with him in spite of knowing his position, though he did not wish to flirt with a phantasm. He was really surprised and impressed to know women like her who did not give much importance to money existed, He started comparing the phantasm with the woman whom he fell for which made him realise she was not worth his love. He silently thanked the phantasm for saving him but did not blurt it out because of his ego..... Again !
As they progressed into the mansion he started describing the interiors of his house which made him receive yet another insult from her sweet voice. "Are we in a museum? Are you by any chance a guide to this place? It's your house, feel alive" and so he stopped boosting about his antiques. The phantasm found it rather interesting to irritate him which he quite enjoyed himself.
As they reached his room , he completely banned her from entering his private chamber and she was granted permission everywhere else until she was in his friendly company. He went to the kitchen to make dinner for him and she followed him but was astonished to find all sorts of food in his freezer which made him understand that she had faced a hard time in life.
Minutes started passing when he realised that they were not properly introduced and so he said "Excuse me ..... Er... er..... May i know your name?..... We are friends right..... So can you tell me your name? I am asking just because I can call you .....". She started laughing sweetly and found his nervousness really funny and said "Relax my dear friend.... I am Mera. How may i call you sir?"
"M....Ma....Malcolm... Please call me Malcolm" he said. She came near him and sat on the chair and told him not to be scared as they are friends and she is not an evil soul and so he was relaxed again. As time passed by they spoke more as Mera wanted to know more about Malcolm. She was eager to know why he wanted to end his life on the cliff when he had everything he wanted to lead a happy life.
"Why did you do it?" was her simple question. "Love" he said which really confused her, as how could love destroy you. "But how can love let your life end.... that too so cruelly?" she wondered. "I was rejected by my woman, she..... she found someone much more worthy than me" he said. "Malcolm please listen to me . If she has rejected you for somebody else it is not love in the first place " she tried to reason with him.
"What do you know about love?" he raged. "How can a dead person like you understand me? Maybe you did not know what love is, since nobody loved you. Look at you.... pathetic..... dead.... seeking my help even now...." he blabbered in his anger. The room was completely silent except for the silent sobs he could hear which had the strength to soften the hearts even made of stone. When he turned to look at her..... SHE WAS GONE.
Did he offend her too much? Has she permanently gone from his life? What was the reason behind her tears? Was she reject by her love too? What will happen to their friendship now? To know more answers travel with me.
