Chapter 36 - DOVES OF LOVE

I pushed through the crowd and went for the man, collected the beautiful flower from his hand and told him that the lady was turning him down because he wasn't doing it in the right proportion.

Weeks had passed and on this faithful night I was on a phone call with Abigail;

"...Love of my life, I have learned many lessons in this life and part of the many lessons learned is never to stay so long in a relationship."

"Then what is stopping my papa from doing the needful?"

"But your papa has already made a proposal to his mama isn't it?"

"What proposal is that? I'm innocent of what you are talking about. Don't tell me you want to call what you did in the office a proposal o. Infact, I am still waiting for the man that would take me..."

"Come on Abigail! What are you talking about?"

"Hmm, someone is claiming not to know what I'm talking about. Alright let me explain. When you spoke to me, you did so as my spiritual father and I took it as a daughter. I want a proposal with some romantic attachment like doing so standing on the shores of heaven under empty skies..."

"Oh mine, someone is pulling my veins."

"They should better not pull please..."

We burst into serious laughter...

Well, on a serious note Abigail, I won't want us to delay on our marital engagement, although I don't know when soon but let's keep our minds ready for the time the Lord has appointed for us.

"Please be ready with your sister, I and Pastor Donald will be coming to the house for us to have a ride down town." I told her

"Wow! Anything for us?" Abigail asked

"Not really, I just want us to have time together in the prayer camp." I answered her

The prayer camp was were I use to visit on rare occasions to spend time with God.

It had a lot of facilities in it and i had an ALTAR and some facilities reserved only for me.

Only a few knew about the place including Abigail. She had been yearning for me to take her there but I had often turned her down.

Upon hearing that we would be going there, she felt extremely happy and moved as she expressed her joy while we spoke at length over the phone.

"Err, you know that your red gown you wore to church last Friday?" I asked her

"Yes!" she answered

"I would want you to put it on tomorrow."

"Ah, you and red gown. I don't know why you love red so much." Abigail teased jokingly

"Well, I'm reserving my demands until I am the rightly married husband of one Miss Abigail Terhemba."

"Hmm, that means I will have to open a boutique of fitted red gowns."

"Rightly said mama." I answered her.

We both laughed and I told her we were going there to pray.

We both prayed over the phone fervently. I blessed her and she also prayed for me, then we ended the call and went to bed fulfilled.

At around 2am, I left for the guest room where I prayed until 4am in preparation for the next day.

The following day, I waited for my right hand man; Pastor Donald who came rightly on time and picked me for Abigail's home.

After spending a little time with Deaconess Felicia and husband in the House, Abigail and her sister joined us in the car and we drove off heading to town.

"Ah, papa are we not going to the camp again?" She asked me

"Yes we are. I just want to get copies of the Holy Bible and we will head there." I answered

"We drove to the store and worked in, purchased copies of the Holy Bible and left for the car as we drove to the camp, a journey that took us Fifteen minutes.

"We mate some other brethrens there and held a serious group prayer which empowered all of us and those in the camp. It was a revival!

This took us about two hours and afterward I and pastor Donald took Abigail and her sister round so they could tour the place.

After all done, it was time to head home.

"I became hungry and asked Abigail and the rest if we could drive to a restaurant where I usually order for my means occasionally when I do not cook back home.

When we arrived, we mate some other people eating and having there time. They recognized me and we greeted lightly then I moved with Abigail and the rest to our stand where we sat waiting for the waiter.

Soon, we ordered for our meals and began eating calmly and joyfully.

I and Abigail spoke lightly about some things while we ate and relaxed back.

Soon, we began to hear noise outside

We first ignored but it became so much that we couldn't ignore anymore.

I held Abigail by the hand and began to walk out to check what was happening. She restrained a bit but I held on and she followed.

Her sister and Pastor Donald joined in as we were curious to see what was happening outside.

Going out, we saw a man holding flowers and running after a lady - the lady been nonchalant and resistant.

People had gathered to watch what was happening.

I pushed through the crowd and went for the man, collected the beautiful flower from his hand and told him that the lady was turning him down because he wasn't doing it in the right proportion.

"Please let me teach you something." I said holding on to the followers.

I went to the lady and as everyone was watching me, I stopped and turned back facing Abigail.

When she looked into my eyes, she could see that It was no more a joke. I was serious.

I watched her for some seconds and took one of my knee down to the floor.

I handed over the flower and the waiter who brought us food was seeing bringing on a tray the copies of Bible I had bought from the store, which were handed over to him by pastor Donald

When he got to me, he stopped and pastor Donald worked forward and also stoped.

A young man walked out of the crowd with his saxophone and began to play it. As he blew his saxophone, the rest of the audience brought out their flowers from where they had hidden them and placed them round us in a love shape.

Pastor Donald waited until the saxophonist was done playing and he matched forward, took the first Bible aside, the second aside and getting to the third, he carried it, uncovered it and handed it over to me.

I waited for some seconds blinking an eye and Betty heard someone coughed behind her. She turned and mate the shock of her life. Her father and mother stood there holding flowers with other siblings.

How on earth has this man been able to put together all these was the question on her heart.

[As at the time we had entered the restaurant, Betty's parents and others were in a separate room waiting.]

I deepened my hand into the Bible and brought out the proposal ring.

"Nk, nk," I cleared my throat calling back her attention. She gazed at her parents seeking for an approval and the gladly nodded their heads with a smile on their faces.

It wasn't common proposing to a woman in the presence of her parents, family and friends, but in Abigail's case, God made it possible. I ensured that it was the epic of anything it could be.

"Abigail, since the day I dreamed of becoming your husband, I have been a happy man. Will you please accept to marry me?" I asked kindly with deep emotions.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!!" She cried out and gave me her hand.

I watched her sobbed and tears rent down on her cheeks as I slotted the ring in gently. My heart melt seeing her shade tears of joy. We hugged each other for the very first time and the last until our wedding night.

The saxophonist played on and those around congratulated us as we departed home fulfilled.

Abigail was amazed. She could not fathom how I was able to put all of that together without her noticing an hitch. Well, thanks to my right hand man, I myself, my aids and Deaconess Felicia; a spiritual, yet very sociable woman.

She arranged for her family while pastor Donald arranged for the rest. Everything was well planned and done without the notice of Abigail.

From the very moment, my proposal to Abigail was live on social media as people had brought out their phones videoing us.

The video went viral and became the talk of the nation.

It was reported on News channels and radio stations.

What many didn't know was that there was a part of me that was highly romantic but was only preserved for the woman I was going to marry.

I was on fire for God, a commander of the presence and power of God, highly and sophisticatedly anointed but also, I knew deep within me that I was going to be a romantic man of God just for my wife.

This, I was patiently waiting with eagerness to love Abigail as my beloved wife when married.

"When God smiles on you, you'll look at your life and realize that this can only be God." I ministered this words to myself as I was driven home gladly.
