Chapter 18 - Heavenly Thunder Art (1)

The boiling hot water fell to the ground as the pot was overturned, and the water splashed up, making everyone cry out in alarm.

Xiaohu was too close and was caught off guard. He barely managed to protect his face with his arms. Fortunately, due to the angle, he was not splashed too much.

"You're not going to kick the other furnace?" Chen Muxue pulled Xiaohu behind her.

The bailiff was stunned and became even more furious. "If I kick just because you tell me to, wouldn't I lose face?"

Chen Muxue shook her head regretfully. "Alright then. I spent one tael of silver to buy that clay pot. Compensate me."

The audience watching the show fell silent. Did she have to be so dramatic? Everyone could tell that you're making up the price on the spot!

The bailiff snorted coldly. "You want me to compensate you? Are you out of your mind? You've set up a stall here without permission, so you'll be fined five hundred taels of silver!"

"Wow, you could've snatched it right away, but you still have to find a reason for me. The reason behind it is so heartwarming." As Chen Muxue spoke, she took out the wok on her back.

"Hmph, a mere level-five Foundation Building cultivator dares to make a fool of herself in front of an expert?"

"Boss, she seems to be more than level five," a person behind the bailiff weakly reminded him.

"The sect master of the Heavenly Cauldron Sect has been stuck at level five Foundation Building Stage for a few years. Everyone in the world knows that she's a coward…" The bailiff's voice became softer and softer. It was only then that he could clearly see Chen Muxue's current level.

"She's just level seven! The same as me! There are so many of us here. Can't we beat her?"

"Boss, don't hold back."

Chen Muxue patted her wok and nodded at the bailiff. "Are you guys coming one by one or together?"

What a joke. She couldn't beat a person in the upper level of the Golden Core Stage, but no matter what, she still managed to exchange one move, and she could still gain the upper hand. That was why she, a level-seven Foundation Building cultivator, wouldn't back down against a group of street hooligans.

"We're both level seven Foundation Building cultivators. What right do you have to be so arrogant?!"

Chen Muxue's spirit energy started to fluctuate. "Aiya, this is so annoying. Why did he advance at such a critical moment?" she grumbled in an exaggerated tone.

Everyone was silent. At the side, Xiaohu quietly finished his meat bun.

"The sect master is so powerful!" Xiaohua saw everyone's dazed expression and clapped her hands happily.

Chen Muxue cupped her hands in greeting. "I'm just average. I'm the third most powerful person in the world."

The bailiff rolled his eyes and snorted. "Your Heavenly Cauldron Sect is just a small sect that is about to fall, so I advise you to take care of yourself. Hand over the silver quickly and scram back to your mountain. I will not hold this matter against you."

"You're still being stubborn?" Chen Muxue carried the wok and walked forward.

"You guys don't want to provoke the people above either, right?" the bailiff hurriedly shouted.

Chen Muxue stopped in her tracks and said, "So you're a real bailiff? I was wondering where you got your clothes from."

"Hehe, now you're afraid?" A drop of sweat rolled down the bailiff's forehead.

"Yeah, I'm so scared." Chen Muxue's eyes were filled with mockery. "The people above you are not the people behind the restaurant, are they?"

She patted her wok. The only people who would come to find trouble now were none other than the people from the restaurant. Since they had already reached this point, their so-called "people from above" would meet her sooner or later.

If she wanted the restaurant to close down, she would more or less touch the cake of those people. Even if it were a small piece of cake in this small town, she would not let it go.

First, it was for their interests. Second, it was their face that was the easiest to hurt.

Moreover, she couldn't show weakness. It would be fine if she were just an ordinary person, but she was the sect master of the Heavenly Cauldron Sect, and she represented the entire sect. Even if she didn't reveal her identity, people would find out very quickly.

Chen Muxue approached the bailiff step by step. Everyone's eyes were focused on the two of them.

 "Ah!"

Xiaohua's scream was heard. Chen Muxue turned around reflexively and saw that two of the men who had been following the bailiffs had sneaked over to Xiaohua. One of them had captured her, while the other was holding a dagger and pointing it at Xiaohu vigilantly.

Xiaohu and Xiaohua were also looking at Chen Muxue just now and didn't notice these two people at all. The person holding the dagger was also a level three Qi Refining cultivator. In addition, Xiaohu had only started cultivating recently. Other than controlling the fire, he didn't know any other way to use his spirit Qi, so he didn't dare to act rashly.

"Release her." Chen Muxue's eyes finally turned cold.

"You should worry about yourself first!" The bailiff took the opportunity to launch a sneak attack and threw a ball of lightning at the back of Chen Muxue's head!

Chen Muxue subconsciously smacked the metal wok with the back of her hand. The ball of lightning smashed into the ground beside her, instantly creating a small pit.

Seeing that a fight had broken out, the onlookers let out cries of surprise and began to hide in safer places.

The wok was called a metal wok, but it was unclear what material it was made of. Even though it could slap away the ball of lightning, the weak current still passed through the wok to Chen Muxue's arm.

It was like when she was playing with an electric mosquito swatter when she was young and poked her finger in. She felt a sharp pain.

"I told you to release her!" Chen Muxue walked straight toward Xiaohua, ignoring the guards behind her.

"H-Hey you! Stay where you are! If you take another step, I'll... I'll strangle her to death!" The man grabbed Xiaohua's neck, and he unconsciously used more force as he spoke.

Xiaohua, who had been quiet after being caught, grimaced and couldn't help but kick his legs.

"Let her go!" Chen Muxue finally stopped.

"Is that all you can say?"

The bailiff's attack had missed, and he had even been ignored. This made him extremely angry. He made a hand seal, and a small dark cloud gathered above his head.

"Heavenly Thunder Art!" His hands made an exaggerated gesture of dropping something from above.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The dark clouds above his head seemed to have been thrown over. In an instant, they flew to the top of Chen Muxue's head, and an arm-sized lightning bolt struck down from above!

Whoosh!

A faint wisp of green smoke rose from the back of the wok that Chen Muxue had covered her head with.

"No! That's impossible!" The bailiff was panting weakly. The attack just now had used up ninety percent of his power!

The Heavenly Thunder Art was something he had secretly seen from the Hidden Forest hermit, and its manual was a high-grade cultivation technique. After he had secretly learned it, he practiced it for many years before he finally mastered it!

According to the secret manual, the lightning drawn down by the Heavenly Thunder Art was as terrifying as the heavenly tribulation. Even if he was not strong enough and could only draw down a small bolt, it was impossible for someone to block it so easily!

That was heavenly lightning!

Just as the bailiff was in disbelief, the wok handle in Chen Muxue's hand was suddenly surrounded by lightning!

"Ah!"

Chen Muxue's entire arm was wrapped in lightning! She half-knelt on the ground in pain!

Seeing this, Xiaohua started to struggle. "Sect Master!"

"Wretched girl!"

Xiaohua twisted and turned, and a purple bead fell from her body. A crack appeared on the bead.

Cen Li, who couldn't stand it anymore and was about to jump out to save Xiaohua, saw the bead fall and crack just as he took a step out. He froze on the spot.

It wasn't just the bead that cracked. He was also going to crack!
