Chapter 10 - Dylan – Something is Rising

"Lord Dylan!" Cordelia returned to her human form. She held my shoulder and asked, "Are you feeling unwell? Is your head aching?"

I wasn't feeling any of those. Just the feeling of discomfort and uneasiness in my whole body . . . and the sudden urge to rearrange her insides. If this was my unavoidable lust kicking in, how come it made itself known just now?

"I'm fine," I said, feigning a smile. "I got overwhelmed by the thought of my . . . true form."

Nice save!

"True form?" Cordelia tilted her head. "Oh! Lord Dylan shouldn't worry about his demon form." She grinned and raised a finger. "Archdemons and lesser demons in their true form have a monstrous appearance while primordials and warlocks have a mixed appearance of a demon and human. Lust Primordials remain the most good-looking in their demon form! I'm actually excited to see yours, Lord Dylan!"

That was good to know. I couldn't imagine myself transforming into something hideous: large yellow teeth, bloodshot eyes, distorted face, rotting skin, and a bloody stomach mouth with three sets of sharp teeth in it. I shivered at the tought of becoming like one of those creepy monsters and demons you see in horror games.

Cool, but, disgusting.

The urge to have sex with Cordelia subsided. It was probably a passing feeling, but I better observe myself and inform her as soon as it kicks in the second time. My only problem was . . . how would I know if it's me or the lust talking?

I stood straight and cleared my throat. "We should get going before lunch time comes. We still have to go shopping."

"Right!" Cordelia returned to her calm demeanor and gestured her hand, ushering me to walk ahead. "The International Bank of Zemoria is right this way."

We took a right turn and crossed the main street until we arrived at our destination. The modernized bank was huge from outside, and the interior design looked amazing. I walked closer to Cordelia as my eyes roved around the air-conditioned bank. A huge golden chandelier decorated with glittering rubies hung on the ceiling. Potted plants dotted the spacious areas and added to the decoration points of the lounge. The couches and chairs looked expensive as hell along with the well-dressed nobles occupying them.

"Lord Dylan? We are here."

Cordelia's angelic voice snapped me back to reality. I shifted my attention to her, then to the blond lady with upsweep hair behind window number one. The nameplate on her left breast read: Ms. Sheryl. The bank clerk stared into my soul, crimson eyes narrowed. I noticed that her skin was slightly pale. When she moved her red lips, a pair of sharp fangs greeted me. A vampire?

"Are you opening a new bank account or do you have an existing account? Withdrawing or deposting Zia?" Ms. Sheryl spoke like a strict professor. She was typing on the computer's keyboard, then she eyed me from head to toe, judging me. "If you are here to rob the bank, best be ready to have your blood sucked dry, Pretty Boy."

Is she trying to intimidate me? She didn't seem like she was affected by my charm . . . as a Lust Primordial.

"I have an existing account," I said, politely. "I'd like to withdraw 200,000 Zia."

She arched a brow. "Give me your card, please."

I didn't show any signs of anxiety or fear when I took out my black card from my wallet. The moment she laid her eyes on my black card, her eyes flickered, then she gasped. Ms. Sheryl snatched my black card from my fingers and read the details so intensely that I felt like her eyeballs were about to pop out of their sockets.

What happened to Ms. Intimidating?

"D-D-Dylan Belmont?" Her fingers were trembling. She looked at me again, and her face turned paler. "Y-You're King Asmodeus's son in the Underworld! The VIP member!"

I gave her a deadpan look. I'm not the only son, but why do I have a feeling that I was about to receive a special treatment? Dad had got some explaining to do!

The rest of the bank clerks, male and female, who were working and on standby turned their heads to my direction. A shiver ran up my spine. I felt their surprised and curious gazes stabbing me. Judging by their pale skin and the ability to hear from a distance, I therefore conclude that this bank is run by vampires.

"Yes? That's me," I said, reluctantly. "Is there something I must know? This is my first time to—"

Ms. Sheryl disappeared from her desk. In a blink of an eye, she was beside me.

"Please forgive me for my ignorance and incompetence!" She dropped on her knees and bowed down until her forehead touched the polished floor. "I was not informed of your arrival and how Lord Dylan may look like! Please, spare the bank from your wrath! Take my body and ruin me instead!"

Damnation to hell. I could destroy this whole bank and make them cower before me just like that? I wasn't even in my demon form to activate that skill. Predatory Pressure, was it? But aren't vampires immortal? Or mortal? The tiny strain in my head was growing so I stopped my thoughts before I unconsciously frown.

I let out a long sigh and approached the frightened vampire. She was like a shivering puppy taking shelter from the freezing rain. That didn't sit well with me. I bent down and held Ms. Sheryl's wrists. She flinched at my gentle touch, but her stiff muscles slowly relaxed.

I thought vampires were cold, but her body temperature was warm, just lesser than mine.

"Ms. Sheryl, please, stand up. You shouldn't kneel before me." I helped her up until her height leveled my neck. Being a six-foot tall primordial, I gazed down into her crimson eyes, sincerely as possible. "I'm not here to destroy the bank . . . or ruin you. I came here unannounced, alright? A beautiful and competent woman like you shouldn't be spoiled with fear."

My sweet words obviously affected her. Ms. Sheryl turned red like an apple and her gaze went down to my neck. She licked her red lips and stepped closer. "Lord Dylan . . ." The vampire wanted to say something, but her words got caught up in her throat. She was getting closer and baring her fangs.

Damn! It completely slipped my mind. Vampires have heightened senses and emotions. Then again, I didn't know it was real in the first place!

"Ah . . . Ms. Sheryl?" I leaned my body back, but all of a sudden, she held my wrists and tightened her grip. I internally panicked. "This is not the time and place to suck my blood. Not now."

"Then will you permit me to do it elsewhere? My offer to have you ruin my body remains unchanged. You smell . . . so . . . very sweet." Her voice was sultry and enticing that something awakened below me. "Which part of a woman's body excites you the most, Lord Dylan?"

My itching eyes lingered on her pencil skirt, particularly, on the scented treasure behind that fabric before I focused on her covered breasts. She could be around thirty-three or thirty-four now that I was measuring her size and . . . crap.

My dick was throbbing in my pants.

I tore my eyes away and looked at Cordelia, asking her to rescue me.

"Ahem," Cordelia interrupted. She went beside me, smiling with her eyes, but her smile looked annoyed. "Please withdraw Lord Dylan's Zia as soon as possible. His schedule is tight," she said, removing the vampire's hands from my wrists by force.

Ms. Sheryl gasped and glared at Cordelia, but she ignored it.

"Will you reconfirm his identity or not?"

"Mind Compulsion is not required." Ms. Sheryl folded her arms under her breasts. "King Asmodeus himself is enough proof that Lord Dylan Belmont is not a liar."

"That confirms it then. Please return to your desk and avoid making skin contact with Lord Dylan or asking for Lord Dylan's blood." Cordelia threw needles with her sharp gaze. "He is not available at the moment."

"Meddling brat." Ms. Sheryl scoffed. "I would have sliced that delicate neck of yours if only we're not in my workplace."

"Are you threatening a warlock?"

"What are you going to do? Snap my neck with your little magic?"

The two of them engaged in a heated argument while I tried to break them up, but they told me to stay out of it.

I sighed in defeat.

Instead of watching two women fight over me, I redirected my thoughts to Ms. Sheryl's warning earlier in attempt to calm my excited buddy. I figured out why she had warned me about sucking my blood dry if I were a thief. Cordelia mentioned about reconfirming my identity too. Putting two and two together . . . by controling my mind and asking specific questions, the vamp lady will surely catch me lying.

Interesting. If every bank had hired pureblood vampires to work with them, the crime rate could be as low as one percent to none. That was a pretty effective way to sniff out the bad guys and keep the bank safe. But was the bank magic proof? How much physical damage could it take before it crumbles to the ground?

After a while of thinking and letting my inner lust settle down, Ms. Sheryl was back in her desk and Cordelia managed to withdraw 200,000Z. Their banknotes looked similar to Terra's hand-sized banknotes, but this one was palm-sized.

"Lord Dylan?" Cordelia looked cheerful again with that sweet smile on her face. "Here is your Zia!" She handed over a black envelope containing the money. "They had placed a special spell on this envelope. No one, but you, can open it."

My mouth fell open. "Really? That's awesome. Thank you," I said, smiling as I secured my Zia inside my left pocket. That was pretty convenient.

"Lord Dylan Belmont? Here is your black credit card." Ms. Sheryl returned my black card with a frown on her face. "I apologize for the inconvenience earlier. Thank you for banking with us." She bowed her head, respectfully.

Suddenly, my heart felt heavy that it anchored my feet to the ground. I just told myself not to frown, but her frown was infectious. She really looked upset. What did Cordelia say to her? I shouldn't feel guilty because I wasn't fully ready to embrace my lusftul side, but I was. What if I . . .

'. . . visit her later and bang her up real good.'

What the hell? I chose not to make any movements or reactions to avoid worrying Cordelia. I stayed still as my own bold words replayed in my head. Not just once. Multiple times. I couldn't identify if that was me or my inner demon whispering and tempting me to have sex with a vampire. Maybe the guilt just caught up to me that my brain decided to suggest that sinful action?

That must be it.

Hopefully.
