Gizem
~~
She knew if the old woman was guilty which she was sure she is for she also saw her as she gave them the packet of poisoned chicken.
Unless the old woman could be in two places at a time, then there was no other explanation for this phenomenon.
They began to set their plan in motion. They resorted to letting her go alone since the plan involved only her. To reduce the risk of getting seen by anyone in the neighborhood, she was going solo.
From what they have gathered, nothing is safe or hidden in the neighborhood as they never knew who could be behind their curtains lurking and watching.
The others made sure to stay behind the gate while she made her way to the huge building.
She jumped over the gate, the night was dark and the street light that was in front of the building seemed to have gone faulty and was out. An element on her side.
This would be a clean job, her type of thing to do.
Since it was past midnight, the lights from the houses were off. She stood right below where the old woman's window stood and listened out for sounds in the apartment to be sure of the numbers of people in the house and also if the old woman was alone in her room.
She was hearing the breathing of about three people in the house, where were the others? She wondered.
Things were going in favor of her plan, it seems.
She made herself jump from the ground of the compound onto the rail of the apartment's window and listened out again, just to be sure.
She was certain that only three people were in the house. A mischievous smile broke across her face as she tried to open the window's door but found that it was locked.
Oops, someone's window is going to get broken.
She pulled vigorously the handle until it separated from the door and remained in her hand. Slowly, she pushed the window door open and peeped from behind the blinds, and saw the old woman fast asleep with two kids beside her on the bed.
She further jumped into the house and carefully lift the two kids up in her hands, she was here to scare the old woman, not the kids.
She recognized one as the one who came the get the door when they knocked earlier and the other was a boy.
When she walked into the sitting room with the intention of placing the kids on the sofa, she found three more kids also sleeping while the TV was on.
They must have doozed off while watching the TV.
She came to the conclusion that the rest of the family were still on their way home trekking because they have not seen a taxi.
They must have wasted their time waiting for one or arguing when they should have just started the walk home, the same thing she and the others had done.
She saw the 15 year old which one of the old woman's family had suggested to drive the car down to them and smirked.
Even if they called, the boy was already asleep with the TV remote almost dropping from his hands.
She went back into the room to get to business. She stood by the bedside table and knocked loudly on it.
The only response she got from the old woman was a stir. She was beginning to think this woman was but a mortal only for if she was something else, if she were a supernatural creature, she would have woken up and sensed her the moment she stepped on the window rail.
But she would finish the job just to confirm it. She leaned closer to the bed and tapped her lightly multiple times and finally, her large eyes shut opened.
" Who are you?!" the startled woman jumped.
Gizem crossed a hand over her mouth. " Shhh" she warned. " What type of poison did you add to the chicken you gave to us?" she went straight to business.
There was little time left and the grown ups of the family might arrive soon.
" What chicken?" the old woman who has sat on the bed now asked in wonder. " How did you get in? Who are you?" her voice was shaken.
Gizem felt uncomfortable doing this. Not with the air of cluelessness she was sensing around her. " The chicken you gave the new people in the house opposite yours?" Gizem tried to be more explanatory.
" I gave no one no chicken!" the old woman barked, as though her fear was diminishing.
She really hated to do this but, she had no choice. She grabbed the old woman's jaw and gazed into her eyes before she asked again. " What type of poison did you add to the chicken and why do you attempt to poison us?" she repeated, searching in the depth of the eyes of the old woman.
If she lied now, she would pick up on it in her eyes.
" What chicken?!" the scared to death woman screamed.
Suddenly, the entrance door creaked and Gizem could hear the chatterings of the other members of the old woman'a family as they entered the house.
" Those people will definitely pay for this!" she heard male voice say. It was the one who had gone to get the tape.
" I can't believe I walked from such a mile home..!" a woman cried.
" I think one of them must have offended them for them to cook up such a lie" the nagging continued.
It was time to get the hell out of there.
Gizem summoned up all the male cats in the area through her original connection to them and commanded them to flee into the house as she dropped the old woman's jaw and made to go out.
Unlike what they thought, the poor woman was too frightened to even shout.
Gizem was by the window as a clouder of cats swarmed into the house, paving way and making sure not to step on her as they jumped in through the opened window.
Now, the old woman suddenly got her voice back. Her screams were louder than the loudest boombox.
Gizem jumped down and dusted her hands. That was alluring, it's been a while she has done that.
She ran to the gate of the building and jumped out then, she ran to the gate of their own house and entered into it.
" What was her confession?" Farris was the first to ask as they all walked into the house together.
From what she observed, she was certain the old woman knew nothing about the poison but the fact that she saw her when she came to their door and also saw her now as she went to interrogate her and there was no difference at all in the way she looked was a puzzle to her.
However… " She doesn't know about the poison. I think they are telling the truth" she let out.
They were inside the house now.
" Then who came to gift us the poisoned chicken if it was not her? Is there a skin walker in the neighborhood perhaps? One who knows about us? One who we have a past brawl with?" Luna said thoughtfully.
They all agreed with her immediately. " That could be a possibility except I don't remember is us having any encounter with a skin walker" Rune chirped in.
" But a skin walker seems to have a problem with us" August sighed.
" Guys" Gizem heard Vidal call out.
She had almost forgotten he was with them. He was the number one talkative then August followed but tonight, he seemed to have sold his role out to someone.
" It is not a skin walker and I think I might know what it is" he said, his eyes darting around.
He was hiding something, she was annoyed. She was not the type to get annoyed but this time, she was.
If he knew what it was why did he allow them waste time with the old woman and even are in trouble with the cops now?
They have wasted lots of time and by every time they waste, the more Fender's time gets lessened
