My fathers friend (Robert) and his wife passed away in a car accident a month ago, leaving their only daughter (Violet). She is three years old and will live as an orphan for the rest of her life. At first, Violet stayed at her uncles house but taking a look at his financial state he was not capable of taking care of a child, everyone decided that my dad should take her in and watch over her from now on forward. Me and my siblings are still young but since I am the oldest, I suddenly turned into a responsible adult after the presence of Violet.
While we were waiting for my father to return with Violet, my siblings (Lara and Max) were over the moon with happiness since a new member will be joining their games. Yet, my mother was nervous and worried.
At last, my father arrived with Violet. Before he entered the room where we were sitting, we heard Violets loud crying. Lara and max jumped up with excitement and ran to the door to welcome Violet. "Dad, dad...at last!" said Lara while jumping in to hug our father who was holding Violet in his arms trying to calm her down but as she saw us, her crying got louder which filled the house with harsh noises. I sighed and said to myself "Oh, here we go." My mother took her in her arms, patted her and gave her sweets to keep her quiet. In facts, we had a hard and awkward time with the little girl that day.
"Where is Violet going to sleep?" asked my father that evening,
"With Lara and Alex in their room." replied my mother afterwards. And to this news, Lara leaped with excitement once again until my father said,
"I do not think that is a good idea darling, she should sleep with us until she gets used to our house." So my mother thought about it once again,
"You have a good point, alright we can move Violets bed to our room." she answered. After that, she turned to me and said,
"Gael, go pick up Violets bed from their room please." but my father shook his head:
"No, I will go get it. It is too heavy for Gael."
