Before Leo was twenty-eight, he was once fifteen. When you think of fifteen, you'd think of some dumb, wild, and free adolescent. The golden period of making mistakes and messing up but it doesn't work that way for Leo.
Leo Archibald Damien, the second son of the Damien Corporation. "Elegance, eloquence, and extravagance" are the main values of the Damien clan and of course, mistakes are never welcome but what if he is the sole mistake of the family?
Leo Archibald "second best" Damien. That's more like it. He was always an option and never a choice. A jack of all trades, but a master of none but no one knows that because he is a liar.
He's perfect, he's indestructible, and he is a great liar. He perfectly built a wall with his pride and apathy that shielded him from the vulnerability he may face if he tread even just a little further away from his persona of self-sufficiency, because outside that wall is the judgement, the lies, and the reality he dreads.
That wall doesn't matter though. Maybe it fooled everyone but it never fooled Lorelai. In fact, she wrecked it. She took every brick off one by one, understanding every part of Leo. Accepting every side and embracing the boy who grew up too fast but where did it all begin?
10TH GRADE - 2ND YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL
2nd Semester
It was odd for a transferee to be accepted mid-year, let alone on the second year of high school. Most of the students thought. It was strange as they were in an elite school so they thought that the transferee must have a great background.
The sound of chattering filled the classroom as they waited with intrigue of who may walk in the room. Gossip had it that it was a foreign student with an overwhelming background. It must've been a huge bribe for them to get into the school.
It was just 5 minutes before the bell when someone they didn't recognize entered. She must be the transferee. She stood tall and walked with confidence. Sooner or later, she will be the subject of envy and adoration. That was the general consensus.
Silence wrapped the classroom and it seems to be that the transferee has captivated anyone. Her presence was breathtaking and she was beautiful. She is dressed simply, yet everything she wore looked extravagant.
All eyes on her and she knew it but the focus shifted when the teacher entered the class. Once greetings and salutations were established, all the attention was reverted back to the new girl. It's about time now that she introduced herself.
"Good morning, I'm Lorelai Grace Alberich. I recently turned sixteen. It's nice to meet you." She said in the gentlest enamoring voice.
She had that air of mystery in her that intrigued the people around her and of course curiously she was bombed with questions.
"Do tell us more about yourself." A short girl at the front said. "Where are you from? What do you like? What does your parents do?" Questions came from all corners of the room. This could determine her social standing in the campus after all, it was an elite school filled with niche cliques for each one.
"I'm from Luxembourg but I spent most of my school years abroad. I enjoy fine arts and literature and my parents are in the law and humanities field." Lorelai replied.
Her vague answers incited curiosity and doubt but to some her identity is no secret. Or is it?
Who really is Lorelai?
