It has been a day since the tragic incidence of the head maid. Lady Quinn is yet to be back from God knows where. Lord Quinn had really showed concern to the maids as we mourn the death of two. Hehi and Penny were the unlucky ones that were murdered in cold blood by the head maid. Vanessa had woken up later that day to cry her eyes out and crazily yell to be returned to her family. Thank God the Lord did not hear else, she would have landed herself in trouble. l struggled to remove the sticky burnt pasta from the pot l was washing
"Where do you think Lady Quinn is?" l asked to start a conversation
"Gerl, how do you suppose we know? She left without telling anyone. Moreover, this is not her first, neither is it her second time of doing such" Lola replied
"I was just asking" l said in defence
"At this point, l don't want to go home again. Outside is not safe!" Grace announced
"Neither is this place Grace, l will choose home over and over again!" Vanessa countered
"That reminds me Nessa, why are you not going to the office again? Did anything happen that we do not know about?" Bruse asked
"Yeahh that is true! And why was Lady Quinn even acting all wicked with you?" l added
"Err..l...l was given a break. And about Lady Quinn, she was annoyed because l was chosen to follow Lord Quinn to the office. l think she felt threatened" Vanessa answered
"Ohh what a crazy and insecure woman. Was that why she decided to hurt you in every possible way? She should fight her husband not you! Huff" Bruse replied angrily
"Exactly my thought Bruse. That woman is really insecure" Grace supported.
"Vanessa wished to be hurt and punished. If not, she knows how to escape Lady Quinn and her drama" Danielle said all of a sudden making all heads turn in her direction
"Why did you say so?" Grace asked surprised at Danielle's perception. Who would choose pain in place of pleasure?
"I said what l know. l owe none of you an explanation for saying this except Vanessa" Danielle said, making heads turn to Vanessa silently urging her to kill their suspense
"Can we talk in private Danielle?" "l will lead the way" Vanessa said immediately without waiting for Danielle's consent. All the maids sigh in dissapointment. We are about to be cut off of the conversation. But then, what could Danielle mean by that? Vanessa and Danielle left the flour they were kneading for their room to discuss.
I sat silently in the bed, searching Danielle's face for any sign that she is joking or trying to play around but all l saw is seriousness. What then could she be driving at?
"Danielle, can you elaborate what you said back there?" l asked. Danielle sighed deeply and left where she formerly stood to settle beside me. She sat beside me in the bed and turned me by shoulder to face her...
"Girl...l know my attitude towards you lately has been bad and doting but l am sorry. l swear l only wanted you to see the way. l wanted you to exercise the power you possess but it turned out you are too innocent to see it. I know of the relationship between yourself and the Lord" Danielle said, earning a gasp from me. She allowed me to react to the revelation before continuing "l saw you both on the day of the couple's festival and my heart melted. l felt happy and joyous within me only to be saddened when lady Quinn started treating you bad and you allowed it.
"Allowed it?" l asked, my pitch high in annoyance. "Who embraces pain? Who does that? l had no choice Danielle. No choice!"
"And that is where you are getting it wrong Nessa. You have the power and choice to choose what you want. You can prevent the pain. You can choose to avert the ill treatment and that is what l need you to see" Danielle said calmly.
l stared at her, trying to read her like a book but l couldn't. l just don't understand her
"In what way? How?"
"Good!" Danielle said happily as she adjusted herself on the bed like she is in for a very long talk. "Vanessa, l saw the spark between you and the Lord. It was real no doubt. He is attracted to you so you have some power over him. Use him to your interest girl, he will do things for you. Things like keeping lady Quinn at bay. You should work more on getting him wrapped around your fingers while you place him on conditions. l am sure he will do everything to fulfill your conditions"
"So you want me to ruin their relationship?"
"And what relationship do they have? We all know that Lady Quinn is not desired by the Lord. She is a lice, sucking off the Lord. She is unwanted" Danielle countered
l stared at her speechless for a while as l struggled to comprehend all she is saying. l am the type to always feel guilty when l do something bad or wicked. l know l will die of guilt if l succeed in coming in between a couple. l was not brought up that way! l looked up at Danielle, who was staring wide-eyed at me as if her eyes will do the convincing silently. l pursed my lips, opened it and then suck it in. Hell! l am confused.
"What is it you want me to gain from this?"
"What l want you to gain? Do you like the way you are being treated by the lady? If you do what l advised, the maltreatment will cease. You will be the voice of the maids to the Lord. lf the Lady wants to pass her frustration to us, you will save us from her wrath until she decides to leave eventually and the Lord will be yours forever"
"Everything you said made sense until you got to the part you said the Lady will leave the Lord for me. She doesn't seem like a person that would give up easily moreover, how sure are you that the Lord wants me to the extent of making me his lady? It might be a temporary feeling" l said, smiling to hide my pained feelings. What the Lord has for me is it temporary? Based on how he is yet to send for me after avoiding him all this while, l think l have my answer
"I saw the spark, it was real. And if it turns out to be a facade, you will make him to love you permanently" Danielle said confidently and l wondered where she gets her unwavering faith from
"How?"
"Common innocent girl, you will be taught! Just do well to tell me all that transpires between the Lord and yourself. l will put you through" Danielle said boastful like a mum would tell her child
l flashed her my teeth and nodded my head meekly. I am indeed childish and innocent. Danielle hugged me like a mother would and l stayed in her arms, enjoying the warmth she gave. We left for the kitchen after sometimes to complete our duties but the maids were bent on getting words from us. Danielle had to tell them that it is an issue concerning roommates and not outsiders but they were not satisfied. They held their peace anyway, with disbelieve plastered on their face.

l stared absentmindedly at the head maid as she greedily and impatiently gulped down the blood sacks l gave her. I hadn't had my time since l spent most leisure time trying to get answers from her in the last two days. She did not make me worry much as she told me the truth in the spanse of little time in contrast to the time l thought it will take. l only had to use some silver, deny her blood and some hot globe and that was it! She spluttered everything. Hot globe are extremely hot and burning gloom of light that are used mostly to torture vampires. There are different levels of hot globe that are suitable for different levels of vampires. The type of hot globe to be used depends on the vampire to be tortured. The highest and hottest hot globe is used to torture and inflict pain on the pure cold blooded vampires, the highest vampires in the world. They are used to torture the ministers because all ministers are pure vampires. They are other globes used to torture the next rank of vampires that is, the halfpure vampires. They are bred by a pure blooded and a non pure blooded vampire. Then there are globes for the non pure blooded vampires, who are bred by two non pure blooded vampire. Then the cc for turned vampires are next in line. If the globe for a higher rank vampire is used to torture a lower rank vampire, the globe is capable of killing the vampire. So l did well to obtain a befitting globe for the head maid. Turned vampires globe are the lowest in rank and the cheapest to get. Then silver is a metal, that is used to torment vampires even werewolves including. The head maid revealed that she was turned and sent here by Isabella and l fringed. l refused to believe at first but l remembered how unfazed Isabella can be when it comes to humans. Did the maids offend her in any way? Or why else will she send a senseless turned vampire who is driven by the primitive to get blood and blood only to a group of powerless maids? l do not want to rat her out to her parents or mine because if l do that, she will be in huge trouble. At least, she is still my wife who is to be protected by me. l decided to take laws into my own hands and await the day she will be back here as she seriously needs to be taught a lesson. That is probably the reason why she left the mansion. l sighed heavily and left the cave as l need to wash myself and get dinner. l left the office quite early today since l had lesser work. My mind got fizzled by the thought of Vanessa immediately l stepped into my room. l had not seen her for quite a long time now and l did not bother sending for her. Hell, she must be very annoyed at me. l really need to see her, apologize and make it up to her. 'l will do that during or after dinner' l thought.
Dinner had been served, the maids waiting in line for me as l descended the stairs. l took a seat and searched for Vanessa among the maids but she was not there. Where the hell is she? Her scent still lingered in the dining room though....l looked at the varieties of food laid before me and my mouth watered. l had not eaten for the last two days. Vampires don't really have to eat the human food but they should get adequate blood in place if it. ln my case, l did not eat the human meals neither did l get adequate blood. l knew what was coming so l had no interest in the meal or the blood. Probably why l tried avoiding Vanessa too. In periods like this, l keep to myself as l patiently await my fate. l was deep in thought when this heavenly scent hit my nose. 'Damn! This girl should not be allowed near me at that time' l mentally noted. My head snapped to the source of the sweet, pure scent and there she is, in her maiden clothes looking directly at me like she knows exactly what she is doing to me. Her eyes held mine as she began taking some steps forward and l almost thought she was coming to me. What is she doing? She finally broke our eye contact and stopped beside me to serve my drink however, she was awfully close to me this time. ls she seducing me? l almost chuckled at her actions. Where did she get the boldness from? She is far from bold as far as l can remember!
