The reason why this curse is related to Yegr dates back to another matter.
That is the notorious Wall of Unbelievers.
As everyone knows, Faelun is a world with deities, where if you believe in a god, after death you go to that god's kingdom. However, if you don't have a god to believe in, then after death, you end up in Shinigami's realm, stuck onto a wall.
Of course, it doesn't end with just being stuck on the wall. Over time, the souls on the wall become increasingly ravenous, beginning to lose everything, from their memories, senses, down to forgetting themselves and finally dissolving into nothingness.
The existence of the Wall of Unbelievers is also, in a sense, a deterrent. The idea is to make everyone worship the gods; otherwise, you can expect to be plastered onto the wall after death!
