Once upon a time in a world similar to this one but bigger and more "Supernatural" was named Ingratus. In the world of Ingratus, there lived a man so wealthy and successful that he had a hand in almost every happening in Ingratus. Let's call him Caeci. With all Caeci's wealth, success, and brains he amassed a fortune so large that it even caught the eye of some more fortunate beings like Plutus, Lakshmi, Tiurakh, and Ganesha. But they all soon looked away for all fortune is not forever.
At the peak of Caeci's life, he found himself in his private Hospital, in a room so white you would think it was heaven's waiting room. But no he had just found he had a disease similar to leprosy but very deadly the doctors and scientists called it Caeci maledicere coined after Caeci of course.
Knowing he did not have long, maybe a couple of months if he was lucky, Caeci reflected on his life as a single man whose life was work and money. Regret was piling on like the Estrutural landfill, he wanted another shot, more time to live, and one more chance to clear his regrets, all he wanted was more time like… Immortality.
As he was lying in his bed his emotions started to get unstable and as the doctors went to go check on him he lashed out cursing and screaming for a cure, a way to get more time. But the only thing they could do was apologize and say there was nothing they could do because this is the first case known to exist. But hearing that made him more upset and then Caeci screamed "WHAT THE HELL DO I PAY YOU FOR! GET OUT OF MY SIGHT YOU BASTARDS!!"
After the doctors left in a hurry, Caeci was left alone once again and this time feeling worse and more exhausted, he started cursing his luck and choices. And feeling his time slowly leave him he was getting teary-eyed and unsightly for a man who once stood at the peak and amid his despair redden state he started praying to any and every God he could think of he even prayed to the devil ready to make a deal.
After his ramblings, he stopped for a minute because what he heard was… nothing, not the rain, bugs, not even the buzzing light in the ceiling. And feeling something wrong he slowly raised his head examining his surroundings he saw the rain stop but it was not gone it was just floating as if put on pause as if thinking this is the end he panicked even more to the point it was hard to breathe. But in his peripheral vision, he saw someone or something.
