I closed my eyes and fell asleep as soon as I lay on the cold ground of desert.
The next morning...
I woke up hearing a sound of something rustling in the forest, I slowly open my eyes and get up from the ground, I look around for my guards but didn't see them anywhere. I walked towards the source of sound, I saw a person covered in dirt, they were wearing their traditional clothes.
"Are you okay?" I asked. They turned around to look at me. "Yes Your Majesty. Please let me pass through" they said in the strange language. I just nod my head and move aside. "Where are they? Tsk. I can't believe I'm using my magic again" I said and uses two fingers to my forehead to see what happened that night. As the Herald of Time, I saw that nothing bad happened that night, so how come?
I sighed and continued walking towards the palace.
After sometime walking in a straight path till I reach the front of the the Eternal Gate of Southern Nation. I saw that nothing bad happened, not until I saw San Hua with an army of great magician and powerful soldier.
"This is bad..." I mumbled to myself. "Goddess of Time, Mother of all Wars and the Great Ruler of the First Nation, Meta... Please help me" I prayed upon the Goddess and then I saw her standing in the dessert. "I'll give you some people and I'll protect this place. Make me proud, Luca" She said before she disappeared.
I looked behind me, the soldiers who was there last night were there, waiting for me.
"Go back to your post, it's almost the time to take orders" I commanded and look at San Hua for the last time. I take out my sword and raised it.
"For the future of the nation!" I screamed in the top of my lungs. I saw San Hua raising his hand too and slowly put it down, making a sign to attack. I run to him while he ran to me. We started attacking each other with our swords and I kept cutting my enemies, leaving them alive or dead, depending on what they say. "We're under attack!" One shouted.
"Retreat!" A voice echoed in the distance. "We're not going to retreat!" I heard San Hua yell. I looked behind me and saw one of San Hua's soldiers running towards my direction. Suddenly the sun goes behind the clouds and the sky becomes darker, the wind blows more strong than ever.
"Why? What the hell is happening?" I yelled. "Did you forgot? I'm the Herald of the " another one answered. "To stop you" San Hua said and attacked me with his sword. "No!" I yelled.
Suddenly, my vision becomes blurry. My vision became white and a light shines everywhere, it starts forming into a portal like shape. "NO!" I screamed in my mind.
"Luca!" Someone called my name, but I don't know whose voice is that.
All I can hear is my heartbeat, loud thump, fast beating and the breathing of the enemies that surrounds me.
"What have you done?!" The same voice yelled. "I'm sorry... brother" I said before I lost consciousness.
I opened my eyes and saw the whole world around me in its darkness; everything seems lifeless. I could only see a silhouette of someone sitting on a bench by the river, but my sight wasn't sharp enough to tell whether that person was male or female. It might be a spirit or the real thing, I couldn't be sure. But the only thing I'm sure it's Meta.
Her appearance was... not a female but a male form of her.
"You finally did what I told you, good thing your still alive unlike the others. The God of Wind is here so you might feel some strong wind and stand up like a man. " she said and stood up. I followed her orders and stood up, my arms still tied behind my back, except there's no sign of the wounds.
Then, everything turns black, my vision went dark and I felt a pressure in the middle of my chest; that feeling reminded me of my death. I took one big breath and tried to focus everything that's left in my mind. The image of my mother appeared in front of me and the pressure disappears. .
"Thank You... for everything..." I whispered and closed my eyes.
When I opened them, I could clearly see the shadow of the woman. "Good job" Meta spoke. She was wearing a long white robe that makes her look very beautiful, with a traditional clothing that almost same as the Eastern Nation.
"You brought me war and I finally take your father's soul. The God of Death is kinda annoying to be honest and he wants to fucking marry me!!. And yet... I'm glad that it ended so well." She smiled and approached me.
"As the God of Time, I order you to be a great ruler of my nation. So stop whining there you son of a bitch and be great ruler!" she added and again she disappeared from the wind blowing the sand. "Thank you..." I mumbled and sigh.
"Luca Maximilian!" I heard someone screamed my name while the battle of the Northern East between the Southern nations. It was San Hua, kneeling down to the sand looking down. "Thank you for freeing me" He said before became a flower and disappeared from the wind. This time I was able to recognize this sound, it sounds just like that person.
My sister.
I rushed out from the gate and ran toward where the sound was coming from. Just when I reached the forest surrounding the camp of the Northern Nation, I caught my breath after running for several hours.
"Lucy!!" My sister came to hug me and kissed my cheeks. I hugged her back while she was laughing.
"How did you even find me?" I asked her while we walked together. "A group of soldiers came to search for you, but I hid from them in a tree. I thought I would never see you again" she confessed. I smile.
"Big Brother Luca is always here, so don't cry. Okay?" I said to her before kissing her forehead.
It's been almost a year since that war, I am now the Ruler of the Grand South with the help of my brothers and sister.
For i, Luca Maximilian. The 16th Ruler of The South, Will the end of my own journey.
End of Herald of the Time.
