*Morpheus pov*
Johnathan Wilkes is a Slytherin student one year above Evan making him a fourth year. Johnathan is a walking and talking cliche, he is what authors would describe as a lacky trying to gain the validation of his older peers.
At first glance most would assume the central members of this 'Slytherin gang' would not care too much if Wilkes is beaten badly. But, that was not necessarily true as any member of their group losing will lower their reputation.
And Slytherins are all about reputation.
Johnathan stepped onto the stage less confident than Thaddeus but he still held an air of regality instilled in him from a young age.
Most purebloods suffer from the dangerous illness called 'looking more important than you are'.
Evan tried to seem nonchalant as if he was ready to duel but I could see he was breathing a little heavy. Well, this is good training for him, he will need it.
"Start!" I announced
Evan's eyes gleamed with resolve as he raised his wand with practiced precision, while Jonathan's expression remained masked in concentration though you could see his hesitance this was his first time up on the platform. The duel commenced with a myriad of spells, Evan choosing to conserve his energy using spells he's practiced over and over like the disarming and stunning spells. Johnathan opted for a brute force method.
Evan sidestepped a cutting curse and unleashed a stunning spell, "Stupefy!" aiming directly at Jonathan, who countered with a swift but shaky, "Protego!" charm, it was easy to tell he was still learning the spell by the wobbly almost watery surface. Beads of sweat formed on Evan's brow as he adjusted his strategy seeing as typical spells wouldn't work, his mind began racing to anticipate Jonathan's next move.
Jonathan retaliated with a bone-breaking curse, but Evan sidestepped gracefully, countering with a freezing hex that grazed Jonathan's left leg.
"Argh!" he groaned in pain trying not to look at the damage
The crowd murmured in awe as Jonathan was struck hammering in the anxiety he was already feeling.
Fatigue began to set in as the duel progressed, weighing down both wizards as they pushed themselves. Evan cast a cutting curse, aiming to target his weak side . But the latter deftly countered with a Shield Charm.
Taking a deep breath, Evan channeled his magic into a powerful blasting curse, unleashing it with a force that rocked the dueling platform. Sending Johnathan backwards crashing down on the platform, "Urghhh!" he groaned in pain trying to stand up
refusing to back down with a surge of sadiatic vengeance and anger, Evan incanted, "Excruciare!" casting a curse that twisted the air around Jonathan, causing him to recoil in agony.
"AHHHH!" he screamed in pain
Jonathan's breath hitched as pain seared through his body, but he refused to yield his mind imaging what Voldemort would do to him should he fail.
"STOP!" Shouted Yowie as he hopped onto the stage flicking his wanin both directions
In an instant both students had their wands torn from their hands, "This is a dueling club! A place to practice, not live out whatever sick vendetta you two hold!"
"Everyone back to their rooms!" he announced with a furious expression
I personally held a bored expression on my face the duel was just getting exciting.
The students quietly filed out of the room not wanting to enrage Yowie more than he already was. Pomfrey was already floating Jhonathan out to get treatment.
When the students were gone Yowie and the other professors turned toward me and I could instantly feel their disappointment.
"You pull something like this again Morpheus and I will not allow you in here. You are a professor you shouldn't be encouraging such violence," Yowie said his tone was still heated
I couldn't help but let a chuckle escape my lips, "I will take these words as a mistake under your anger, do put your wand away wouldn't want someone to catch a stray spell,"
Yowie glared at me, "Do you think endangering the lives of children is fun?"
"Fun?" I asked tilting my head to the side, "it is interesting seeing what they come up with but I wouldn't say fun. Though it's odd how narrow-minded you are Yowie, do you think Evan Rosier is having a peaceful time in this school right now? Hunted by his own classmates, scared, and paranoid. I showed him and all of them, the students just like him that are cowering in fear hoping they can make it back home in one piece, that they can fight back."
"There are better ways Morpheus," Minerva interjected
I looked over at her, "Perhaps, this is more effective though," by now I was on the platform standing across from Yowie
Looking over at Yowie his eyes were still narrowed his jaw clenched, "You will learn," I offered with a small smile before walking off
As I left the platform I flicked my wrist causing the angry professor's wand to fly from his grip and into my hand, "And I said put your wand away," I dropped it on the floor and resumed my walk at a leisurely pace

By tomorrow Albus will have received numerous letters from 'upstanding' pureblood lords requesting an immediate audience. He knew this was going to happen just like I.
Of course, I will be attending those meetings. It was the unwritten rule between him and I. I make the mess and clean it up. Albus is many things smart is one of them, if he wanted to I'm sure the meetings would go smoothly but Albus and I are searching for a different answer.
To capsize a ship you first have to rock the boat.
Everyone could tell Tom will strike again soon, most likely during the summer. Britain will change irreversibly and to mitigate the damage this semester will be crucial.
Entering my room I laid down and rested my eyes.
Tomorrow will be another fun day.
*Evan pov*
Holed up in my room I lay on my bed gazing at the dungeon ceiling. It was an odd feeling beating both older students so brutally. It felt empowering to be honest.
Maybe now they will finally understand I'm not an easy target and back off and if they don't?
Well, I will happily demonstrate my abilities again. The main advantage I have right now is hardly any of the purebloods participate in duels, they might attend the club but they barely put any effort in.
That arrogance is their downfall.
As my eyes grew heavier and sleep began to chase me I felt a smile grow upon my tired lips, today will be one of the first times since I came here I will be able to sleep peacefully.
