Chapter 85 - the third years

*Narrator pov*

While pieces were moving behind the veil, Morpheus was in Hogwarts teaching, and guiding the next generation of wizards.

He liked the progress he had seen since he joined the school, the current fourth years were progressing nicely they have built semi-solid foundations and now need polishing.

The current third years were learning what they needed to and gaining knowledge many before them weren't able to.

Without anyone knowing Hogwarts has become a training ground for Morpheus's soldiers.

"You have 'his' class today don't you mate?" James Potter asked with a scowl

Remus chuckled, "Yes, he's not so bad," he proceeded to stuff his face with the food before him

Sirius groaned, "Not so bad? Just look at the creepy git," he laughed nudging James, "Looks more like a vampire than a professor,"

A female voice cut in, "Sod off Professor Morpheus is a great professor," the tone was laced with annoyance

Sirius barked in laughter, "Of course you think so Ms. Teachers pet," James elbowed Sirius in the side, "Ow! Sorry mate," Sirus groaned but a smirk was etched onto his face

Lily rolled her eyes, "Ignore them, Stiles, Remus. I think it's brilliant you are taking Professor Morpheus's class," she smiled brightly

Stiles laughed while scratching his head in embarrassment, "Dont worry I ignore them more than half the time,"

""Oy!"" Sirius and James shouted in unison

The table broke out in laughter at the group's antics, the Gryffindor table was always lively that's for sure.

"And that's why you should always inspect your ingredients beforehand. I will sometimes give you a bad leaf or something else that is insufficient. You must learn how to spot these things," I told my third-year class while holding a tea cup with purple liquid

The leaf was bad you see.

"Remember, believe and you shall succeed. The very essence of magic is belief, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. What you are learning now will be your foundation for the future, do not try to cut corners and be diligent because I believe you all can be great wizards and witches in the future," I said while collecting the materials I passed out

"Now we will begin to train your magic control," I announced while taking out a briefcase full of training wands

Magic control is another thing I decided to move forward in the curriculum. I believe teaching about magic control before synchronized casting can be a benefit to the students.

Now that I know the average talent of these young wizards from my last year of teaching I can adjust accordingly.

"Professor?" I student said raising their hand

"Yes, Ms Evans?" I asked while sitting behind my desk

"What is magic control? I heard my seniors talking about it but they never explained in depth." she looked ready to take a plethora of notes

I shook my head, "Excellent question, magic control is the fundamental control you have as a wizard. The better magic control you have the more efficient you can cast spells, as a wizard or witch this is very important. For example, I can underpower a spell creating a weaker version of the spell that can be used for many different situations, and vice versa I can overpower a spell making it stronger, faster more dangerous. These skills can be used for anything involving magic,"

Seeing my students were interested I continued, "How does this apply to divination? Simple, the finer magical control you have directly affects your abilities as a diviner. Overpower a spell and the vision will break, under power? The vision will fizzle out or be blurry. To truly walk the path of divination is to not only understand the material but one's self and the limits of your magic,"

"Professor, why haven't we learned this before?" A student asked

"Mr. Lupin, excellent question. The answer is you have been learning this from the very first day. Your first Transfiguration class was over turning matchsticks into needles. Not only did you need to imagine the math stick turning into a needle you also needed to lower your magical output to not destroy the matchstick," I saw the classes eyes light up with comprehension

Continuing I explained how they will practice, "To start with your practice, you will be using training wands. These wands are meant for children who are too young to go to school, meaning it's meant for a lower magical output," I took out a training wand for an example

"Pass it around," I told one of the students before continuing, "At the start of class you will be practicing with these wands, at the start you will destroy many training wands but, that is normal. Eventually, you will learn how to control your magic to preserve the wand, and if you are on the level of magic control that someone like your professors you will be able to use the training wand like a normal wand," I chuckled seeing their entranced expressions

I could see some thought it would be easy, I knew seeing their struggle would bring me many happy memories.

Watching training wands break apart in many of my student's hands I laughed, "Harder than you thought?" I asked the class with a slight smirk on my face

"Much harder," Stiles groaned

"The fourth years struggled just as much when they had to do this, don't give up," I told the class

Soon the class ended and I started to organize my room, as the students filed out of my classroom I heard someone walk up to my desk.

"Yes, Ms. Evans," I almost slipped and said Potter there, I've been spending too much time looking into the future lately

She looked nervous, "Um, professor I was wondering if you offer tutoring? I am having trouble with my diving rod," she seemed embarrassed to even voice the question

I smiled, "I do, I'm glad you came to me I fear many students are struggling like you but don't have the courage or drive to ask me for help. I will schedule a date for you to receive help, believe it or not, many struggle at first no need to be embarrassed," I replied while writing a small note

She visibly sighed in relief, "Thank you, professor!" she exclaimed before walking out

I chuckled, she is worried about passing my class but doesn't even realize how important she would have been or will be in the future.

Packing my stuff I left my classroom, I think I will enjoy some wine with Abara and see how the planning is going.

Walking toward his office I passed many students, passing through the winding corridors I made it to his office.

Knocking I waited for his reply.

"Come in," I heard his shout

Opening the door I saw Abara unpacking a telescope, "Care for a drink?" I asked with a small smile

"Morpheus! I'm always ready for a drink, the stars will be especially bright tonight Let go to one of the towers," he offered

"Let's do that,"
