Chapter 68 - khufu

"Pftthahahaha! Morpheus my old comrade your jokes are too much!" Khufu laughed loudly

I frowned, "It wasn't a joke, allow me to make a body for you fitting of a pharaoh," I replied calmly

Khufu looked at me calmly but his eyes held a deep bottomless power, "I will ignore these comments because you do not understand,"

I frowned, "Then make me," my reply was short and simple

His spirit looked deep in thought, "You die then rebirth anew, your soul is sent to a place I dare not fathom during that time. You wouldn't understand because I was a pharaoh I didn't practice magic but instead used my soul,"

He was right, Pharophs always had the uncanny ability to use the power of their soul to affect the world around them. They didn't have a sliver of magic in their bodies, it was unnatural but at the same time the most natural state.

"When I died, my flesh might have decayed but my soul only strengthened. A new body would only contain me, chain me to the mortal coil once more," Khufu said with a small smile

"I see, I guess even an old man like me has more to learn," I lamented

Khufu laughed, "This might be the only thing I could possibly teach you, the man who sees all is a lofty title,"

And a false one. I wish I could see all alas that would be impossible. But, I can definitely see more than everyone else, especially with the dream Ruby in my possession I can now see visions of the other races clearer.

"It was great talking to you Khufu, but I think I will deal with this little angel problem," I said as I started to walk away

Before I left Khufu asked me final a question, "When will you free 'them'?"

I turned around, "After so long do you think 'they' are still on our side?" I asked with a small frown

"Yes, after all 'they' hate the gods as much as you," Khufu replied with a slight smirk

"Ah yes, but when I win they will turn their sights on humanity no?" I said with a calm smile

"Have faith Morpheus, you know as well as I you will need them in the war," Khufu said while floating closer

"Perhaps, I will try to find them again,"

***

The sand hugged my feet as I walked up the dune, once I reached the top I saw a small oasis.

Standing on the water was a figure with white wings, not feathered but ethereal. She stood atop the water chanting a spell in the voice of the world.

Or word of 'god' to them. Although they aren't beings of religion the angels call magic itself God, I believe we humans didn't understand what the angels were saying when describing magic but the word sounded like God in the human tongue.

Which is why God was coined as a central idea in religion.

As she chanted the water began to slowly disappear as if being devoured, and the sand around the oasis began to pick up in a flurry of wind.

She is trying to make contact beyond the veil, which means she must've spotted me.

Lifting my wand I flicked with a sharp motion, "Fulgura furunt!" I overcharged the spell using the voice of the world

I felt my mouth go dry as the words left my mouth, and the air around my wand began to crackle with energy.

*FWOOSH!* A barrage of lightning bolts shot from my wand arching through the air, unleashing their fury and might at the angle

Her head snapped upward sensing the danger, quickly the angle jumped away floating in the air.

*PACHA!* where she was standing turned into a giant crater, and the nearby sand turned into glass

"Morpheus," She growled in anger

"I don't think I want you to contact your friends, I apologize for my rudeness," I replied with a small smile

*Narrator pov*

The angel responded with a gesture, their wings pulsating with magical energy. A burst of radiant light erupted sending magical bolts at Morpheus.

Conjuring a shield quickly the bolts collided with Morpheus's shield in a dazzling display of magical clashes.

Unphased, Morpheus retaliated, sending bolts of lightning toward the angel. The angel, however, gracefully evaded with a dance of her wings, weaving through the charged atmosphere. Every time the lightning landed sand would be turned to glass, leaving symbols etched into the land.

With a soft-spoken word, "Tempest," the angel summoned a gust of wind, which caused the sand to obstruct Morpheus's vision.

Morpheus scoffed flicking his wand, the tempest seemed to falter, dissipating into thin air.

The desert landscape became a battlefield of opposing forces Moprpheus's incantations echoed through the dunes, while the angel's magical speech resonated with great power. Sands swirled and danced in response to the magical currents, creating an intricate tapestry of elemental forces.

As the conflict intensified, Morpheus conjured illusions while apparating suddenly the angel didn't know which one was real and which was fake.

"Cunning human," The angel cursed while her wings began to glow brightly Spears of magic began to rain down on the ground

Morpheus's illusions began to tear apart, the angel looked around trying to find her target.

Morpheus fueled by the essence of the desert's magic, unleashed a powerful incantation that sent waves of heat and sand surging toward the creature from behind. The angel, however, ascended on radiant wings, evading the elemental onslaught.

More sand melted into glass, "You can never beat what you cannot reach human," the angel sneered

Morpheus laughed, "Then you will just have to join me down here,"

Channeling his magic Morpheus slammed his wand on the ground, and the seemingly random glass symbols began to glow a bright hue of red.

The angel began to feel weak and her wings flickered, "How!" she yelled plummeting to the ground

*PAH!* she landed with a deep thud

"No magic is allowed here, including my own," Morpheus smiled like a maniac as the dome completed

The angel looked up in horror noticing in the last moments of magic being allowed Morpheus turned his wand into a thin sword

Morpheus launched forward in a surprising display of physical might, his sword glided through the air the Egypt sun glinting off the metal.

The angel quickly dodged feeling light-headed from not feeling magic in the air, it was like she was suffocating.

*shickk* a thin cut appeared on her cheek

"BASTARD!" she yelled in anger running forward

Morpheus laughed in glee as he fought her, it was as if he was playing with his food. Thin cuts appeared all over her body, blood dripped onto the sand.

"Just kill me," she panted her words having to be forced from her mouth now

She was in obvious pain, at her limit just waiting to die.

Morpheus smiled softly, "I wish they were watching as I carve your heart out," his words coming out oddly sweet and sincere

*swissh* *shickkk* In one swift movement the angel's head flew from her shoulders

Morpheus canceled the anti-magic dome and began to harvest her body for materials.

Just as he finished Negary flew from the sky and landed on his shoulder "CAW!"

"So Britain needs me? This will be fun,"

Also I know everyone is looking forward to the war but I just want to let you know after this brief summer arc we go into James potters 3rd year (which is a lot more fun than the previous school year, a lot more action, death eater stuff, and more.). I'm definitely trying to build a actual war which takes time and not some ten chapter battle that's called a war. But don't worry, I'm not going to drag out the suspense for too long hope you are enjoying!

Any questions? Feel free to comment them I will try to reply without spoiling
