Chapter 41 - Divination masters don't play fair -41

*Narrator pov*

After the dueling demonstration, Professor Abara and Professor Yowie performed yesterday, the castle was in a frenzy. The students couldn't contain their excitement and eagerly looked forward to the next club meeting.

Students who originally didn't think much of astrology now looked forward to their next lesson hoping to ask the professor to teach them the spells he used.

Morpheus continued helping his students, currently, they were practicing tea divination so he sat in his chair and gently widdled away at a bone.

He could tell the students were curious to know what he was doing but the professor paid them no mind.

"Um professor, I can't find what this leaf means," a gentle voice broke the silence of the classroom

Looking up Morpheus saw it was Narcissa Black who spoke, Morpheus stood from his seat while putting the bone away.

Walking over to her desk Morpheus peered down at the tea cup. A frown creased on his face.

"You followed the directions?" he asked softly the pale Professors voice sounded like a ghostly whisper in the night

Narcissa began to worry, "Of course Sir, I did everything to the letter. Is something wrong?"

Her teacup was filled with black liquid instead of the vibrant golden color that should be present. The beautiful enriching dark forest green tea leaf was wilted and turning grey.

A smile spread across Morphues's face, "Nothing to concern yourself over," as he said that Morpheus snapped his fingers causing the teacup to disappear

"It seems the leaf I provided was bad, I hadn't realized thank you for letting me know. I can see you did everything perfectly," as he finished speaking a new set of ingredients appeared on her desk

Morpheus strolled back to his seat paying the strange stare Narcissa sent him no mind.

*Morpheus pov*

After all of my classes ended for the day I swiftly left for my room, entering the dimly lit room I quickly pulled out a crystal ball a pedestal, and some candles.

Placing the crystal ball on the pedestal I then surrounded the pedestal with candles. Lighting the candles I touched the tip of my fingers to the surface.

"Show me the black families future,"

"ostende mihi nigrae familiae futurae"

"Show me the black families future,"

"ostende mihi nigrae familiae futurae," I flawlessly transitioned the same sentence from English to Latin back and forth

My mind began to feel light and a vision entered my mind.

I saw the black family tapestry.

I saw a wanted poster with the name "Sirius Black" printed boldly

I saw another with the name "Bellatrix Black,"

I saw images of fighting, Kin killing kin.

A family in ruins.

Suddenly the vision stopped, and the frown etched onto my face slowly turned to a smile.

Standing from my floor I made my way to my bed. Reaching into my pouch I took some powder out and outlined my bed with it.

I then took out an old native American dream catcher and hung it above my bed.

Lying down in my bed a smile etched across my face.

*Narrator pov *

Arcturus Black was asleep, he dreamed of the past war his mind was in a state where it knew what he was dreaming but at the same time didn't. Suddenly like a flip was switched Arcturus was fully aware he was dreaming, he felt as if he was there in the dream.

He walked a few steps forward seeing everything around him pause like statues. Arcturus for all the years he lived has never experienced something like this.

Arcturus continued to walk forward in his dream, everything felt so surreal to him. As he progressed further in the 'random' direction Arcturus began to notice everyone in the dream was frozen while looking in a certain direction.

Wanting to investigate the issue the old man began to move in that direction. His mind wondered what could be happening.

Finally, he reached a clearing in the broken city where wizards were frozen while fighting a bloody battle.

Arcturus froze as he spotted the man in the clearing, the man everyone who was frozen was staring at.

A tall pale man with Raven black hair stood calmly while smiling in Arcturus's direction.

"Arcturus, so good of you to join me. Your dreams are rather boring," The clear-eyed man laughed at his own joke

"This isn't possible," Arcturus muttered

"Oh, but it is," Morpheus replied with a smirk

Arcturus licked his dry lips before replying, "How? How can you be in my dream? How is any of this possible?"

Morpheus laughed in a condescending manner, "You wouldn't be able to understand even if I spoon-fed you the answer,"

"What do you want," Arcturu's expression was grave

"I want us to make a deal," Morpheus said lightly

"I don't even know what you are, why would I make a deal with you?" Arcturus replied while moving closer

"I'm human, what would make you ask something so idiotic? Furthermore, you instructed your family members to join my class showing you already trust me," Morpheus calmly answered

"No human can live as long as you, you even look the same!" Arcturus referred to their first meeting

"Rituals are a beautiful thing, my friend. Now shall we cut the small talk and dig into how I can help you?" Morpheus asked with a pleasant smile

"Help me? Go on," the old wizard motioned Morpheus to continue while he looked around his own dream

"Your granddaughter during my class had a rather interesting divination today, it foretold her family will slowly wither away, a great darkness will soon spread throughout the black family. Luckily I can reverse that rather horrible fortune," Morpheus said while strolling around the dream

"My granddaughter is new to divination how can you be certain it's true?" Arcturus countered with an uneasy expression

Morpheus nodded at that, "After seeing what she divined I quickly told her she messed up and it meant nothing. I then took it upon myself to do my own divination into your family. It seems your son will ally himself with the rising dark lord, and Bellatrix will follow. Andromeda will be disowned, you dead. And much more,"

Arcturus's soul shook at the information, "Tell me everything," he said hoarsely

Morpheus tsked at the man, "My information is only for allies. That was just the very tip of the iceberg if you want to learn more join me,"

Before Arcturus could reply the dream began to shake violently, and the once-frozen people began to move slightly.

"Ah, it seems we are out of time, do get back to me soon," Morpheus said with a small knowing smile before disappearing

Arcturus could barely focus his mind urging him to wake up.

In the black family manor, inside a heavily warded bedroom, the old body of Arcturus Black began to shake, "GAHHH!" he jolted awake gasping for breath

His hand habitually went for his wand pointing it in front of himself as if he were searching for an enemy.

Taking a sip of the water on his nightstand Arcturus tried to calm down, growling in anger he threw the glass against the wall.

*CRASH!*

Opening the nightstand Arcturus pulled out a bottle of whisky and took a giant swig.

The man had much to think about.
