Chapter 168 - Intermission pt 2

*Morpheus pov*

We sat eating and chatting away about everything and anything. Abara was particularly chatty as he wanted to know about the best spots to see the stars this side of America. I think he's hoping he can charm one of the professors to tell him a secret spot.

Albus and Emily talked minimally he seemed content drinking his tea and occasionally adding to the conversation.

Taking a sip of my own tea I felt a pulse of demonic magic come from the forest, it was not a pulse it was more like residue wafting through the air. I contained my expression but noticed Richard Grace the professor of divination of rituals held a brief startled expression.

A small smile curved onto my lips, how interesting~

Taking out a glass and a bottle of wine I poured myself a generous helping, "Say Richard would you mind giving me a tour of your classroom I'm interested to see the difference?" I asked with a genuine smile

Richard who still looked slightly perturbed nodded, "I'd be delighted," he stood as I did and looked over at Emily, "We will be back before the intermission ends,"

Emily smiled, "Of course have fun," we both nodded heading off

"Right this way," he directed me out of the hall and toward a staircase, "My classroom is on the second level you must see the view,"

Taking a sip of my wine I muttered into the glass, "ékstasi," making sure he couldn't hear me, "You got me Richard I'm a sucker for a good view,"

I repeated the same action with my wine again, making sure I took a small sip but didn't look at the glass. I was sending small pulses of the dream stone embedded in my chest through my body and to my lips.

It was an odd sensation I do have to admit.

Finally reaching the top of the stairs I looked out the window to the right, "What did I tell you? The view is one of a kind," Richard said patting me on the back

I turned to him, "Thank you for showing me this, I must say I haven't seen a view quite like this in a while," I wasn't lying the mountain terrain and the forest below being illuminated by the gentle rays of the sun was ethereal

I wanted to paint this view.

"Does your classroom have a good view too?" I asked lightly while repeating the same motion with my wine glass

He nodded enthusiastically I could tell he wanted to show it off but was trying to be modest, "Follow me I'm sure you will love this, I have everything one could ever need to teach divination and rituals and I get a spectacular view," he led me to a door at the end of the hall

Richard opened the door revealing a spacious room with a nice balcony the view was also something I envied seeing as my view from Hogwarts wasn't as grand.

Stepping into the room he closed the door behind us, I saw several bookshelves lined with tomes of divination and rituals.

"An ingredient cabinet," I pointed out with a nod

He smiled, "Indeed, I heard Britain has banned rituals it must be hard for someone your caliber to hold back in teaching the good stuff,"

"Believe me it's difficult," I scoffed taking another sip, "ékstasi,"

Richard eyed me for a second before shaking his head and asking, "Is it normal for you to drink so much wine?"

I hummed in amusement stepping closer to him while tipping my glass slightly to face him so he could see the wine without the glass intrusion, "Do you know why I love wine?" he shook his head, "It's because of the effort really, someone went through hours of work just to create a tiny bottle. Some even wait years to try their creations never knowing if it has aged properly yet. Drinking wine is like drinking history, my friend,"

I held my hand holding the glass, "What do you see?" I asked causing him to look down

He frowned before making an odd confused face, "History?" he said quietly

I chuckled, "ékstasi," Richards's eyes glazed over

"Hold the glass and keep looking," I ordered softly and watched pleasantly as he did so

"You're wondering what's happening right now, you can hear my voice in your mind but it's so soft. Not to worry you won't even remember this unpleasant feeling, as far as you will know we just toured your classroom," I walked around him making my voice echo inside his mind

"Now, tell me how did you sense the demonic magic? You must have been in contact with a demon before care to share?" I 'asked' nicely

Richard began to spew everything, "Before school started this semester I was approached by a demon to help them breach the school when the time was right. I told them the best location in the forest where no one enters."

"And what was in it for you?"

"Power, they showed me true magical power and offered to grant me it and a seat at the table when the new order will be made," He answered duly

I nodded slowly, "And have you prepared anything so far for this raid?"

"No, I was told to keep acting normal until the time was right,"

"I see, anything else I should know Richard?" I asked kindly

"Yes, in convincing me of their power I was told about several other schools that have people like me positioned in them. The Br-" dark veins began to form on his neck as his mouth clenched down in pain

"You signed a deal," I chuckled, "Well no bother I can infer which schools they talked of easily enough,"

Taking out a bundle of poppy I lit the herb and held it under his nose forcing him to breathe the mind-altering herb in. It will further intensify the suggestive state he is already in.

Next, I took out a small seed that would dissolve inside the wine and put it inside the glass he held. The seed was called 'daemones susurro' or devils whisper rather apt for this situation if I do say so myself.

"In two months you will kill yourself with a killing curse to the head, the death will be painless and freeing. It just feels right to cast the spell you won't be able to help it, now drink," I gently pushed his hands holding the wine glass to his lips

"Richard Grace it was a pleasure meeting you,"
