Chapter 1 - Chapter – 01

Nevah Yaelsan stares at on-again, off-again boyfriend Max Walker while sitting in the classroom. She has been noticing a change in Max's behavior for several days.

Nevah changed her gaze after staring at Max's direction for a long moment. Because he didn't even look at her for a second. She let out a sigh. She thinks about her and Max's relationship. She thinks about herself. She hummed and expressed,

"I've forgotten to take time for myself and think about myself since I got into a relationship with Max. If this is love, so I was able to be a lover!"

Janice, sitting next to Nevah, heard her whisper and asked , 'What's the matter, Nevah? What are you whispering to yourself?'

"Nothing," Nevah lied and looked at her account. Janice laughs at her reply. At the same time expresses sadness.

" Are you thinking about Max? Oh, fool! When will you realize that Max is just spending time with you?"

Navah was shocked to hear Janice's words. But did she succeed in listening to her whispers!

"Janice, do you know the reason why none of your relationships last more than a month?"

Nevah asked, hurting Janice, forcing her to shut up. Janice was really hurt by her words. Nevah's purpose was successful.

Janice asked in a slightly angry voice, "Are you talking about my negative thoughts? Well, it is inauspicious to trust someone like a blind man."

After hearing the answer, Nevah did not speak again. Because Janice didn't say anything wrong.

Faith is good, but blind faith is very dangerous. Therefore, Nevah is aware of the stupid behavior of taking any action without self-examination and blaming someone.

Nevah tries in vain to pay attention to the teacher. Because her gaze fell on Max again and again like raindrops falling on the ground. After a while Max looked at Nevah for a few moments. He smiles when they meet each other's eyes. She also smiled and looked down.

When the class is over, the teacher leaves the room. Nevah stood up from her seat and took a step towards Max, notebook and pen in hand. She stands up to see another girl with Max, who turns out to be his ex-lover Aibel. Aibel is smiling and talking to him, and so is Max. Aibel is very beautiful, attractive and the daughter of a wealthy family.

It's normal to not be able to tolerate anyone else around the person you love, no matter who he is. It's the rules of falling in love, the rules of loving! Be it for a very important talk or any other work.

Nevah closed the jealousy and anger in a corner of her mind and stood between Max and Aibel. She glances at Aibel with disgust. Then she softly smiles at Max.

Nevah said hugging Max gently, "Max, my dear."

" Oh, hi, Nevah! You have history class now, don't you?' Max pushed Nevah away from him, increasing the distance between the two.

Nevah is a bit unprepared. She stares at the floor for a few seconds with a wounded look. Then she said with a dirty smile on her face, " Yes. But every day you lead me to the hall. Won't you give it today?"

"Max, are you coming to my house this evening? But I didn't get the answer," between them two , Aibel smiled and asked Max.

Max nods and smiles at her, "Yes, of course I will."

" Okay, that's enough. Shall we go to the next class?" Aibel asked again.

In the midst of their conversation, Nevah begins to think of herself as inanimate. Max talks to his ex as if his present is absent. Nevah is surprised by Max's behavior.

"Yes. Nevah, I'm sorry! I can't go with you today. I have to make plans for this evening with Aibel. I'm going, goodbye. "

At first, Nevah was relieved to hear her name in Max's mouth. But the moment she heard the full sentence, she was disappointed.

Max ignores her and starts walking with Aibel. Aibel reached the door and looked back at her. She smiles a sly smile at her. She stands in an empty classroom.

She asked herself, "What do they mean by evening? What are they going to do?"

Nevah thought for a moment and shook her head. As if she was shaking something out from his head. She scolded herself and said, "What are you thinking about?! These things are getting into your brain. Max is your boyfriend now. Be positive, everything positive will happen."

She took a deep breath and left for the next class.

In history class, the teacher is teaching about Greek mythology. Nevah has always had a keen interest in Greek mythology. But today there is no attention to her teacher's words. She is nodding her head repeatedly and trying her best to pay attention to the teacher's lecture. But when there is turmoil in the heart, the attention is not focused on anything external.

Somehow she finished the class. When she gets to the locker, she sees Max again with Aibel. Leaving Aibel, Max approaches Nevah.

Nevah's hurt, very hurt! She has only one thing, what does he have to do with his ex when he has so many girls? She won't say anything to him. Don't even look back at Max.

Nevah takes her bag pretending not to see Max. Max came near her and fixed her hair in front. Ignoring him, she started walking with the bag on her shoulder. He follows her. He pulled her hand to call her back. She stops, but doesn't look at Max.

Max gasped softly.

" What's the problem? Why are you using it like that?" He asks her.

Nevah is a bit surprised by Max's question. Because this question is supposed to be answered by him. She is supposed to want to know about Max's dealings with him and working with Aibel.

"Nothing," says Nevah in a haughty reply. " Aibel is waiting for you. Go to her."

"Are you jealous?" He asked her frowning .

'Why would I?" replied Nevah, staring into the distance.

"Well, that's fine. Return home carefully. I'm going."

Nevah was surprised. Max did not feel the need to redeem his pride! It would have been possible to talk to him with a little understanding and love. She didn't want anything more than that. However, love does not have to be proud for long.
