EVERYONE KNEW THAT FALLON AND TAYLOR WERE BONDED. How an Alpha knew they were bonded was quite easy. The tattoo of bonds appeared on their back. When the bonding was taking place their whole backs would feel cold as if ice was placed on it. After the tattoo formed on their backs; this usually took place on a full moon night, when both shifters and clansmen were at the peak of their powers, the tattoos send sparks to the sky and then the two bonded meet and recognise each other. The tattoos later disappear into their bodies. Alphas who did not have bonded clansmen were bound to their clansmen artificially.
Fallon and Taylor's bonding took place when they were both nine years of age. Everyone in the village thought it was just the moon goddess playing tricks on them because the then Alpha, Silver, already had his bonded which was Josef. Everyone thought that it was the Luna who was with child, who's bonding took place, no one knew it was the two girls who were having a sleepover party who just bonded.
Bonding took place in serene scenarios. There was recorded at another pack one time in which an Alpha who just died bonded with a clansman.
"Fallon you have to go to this meeting. It's a necessary must. As they've sent an invite you have to honor them and go." Taylor said to Fallon in a worried tone. She knew her best friend too well. She knew Fallon was planning to bail on the meeting.
"Taylor I came of age three years ago and they didn't bother to invite me one time and now this year after putting them in their place all of a sudden they're now inviting me?, C'mon Tays read between the lines" Fallon replied her best friend angrily as she added more pressure to combing her hair.
"Fallon, the joke we pulled at the last convention was necessary. They had to acknowledge you, the least you can do now is to go there." She answered her friend.
Fallon faced Taylor with a very weird grin plastered on her face when Taylor spotted the grin they both burst into laughter. They laughed for so long and fell on Fallon's bed.
"You should've seen Alpha Holden's face when he imaged that message" Taylor said trying to hold back her laughter and they started laughing again.
Fallon stood up and tried to imitate Alpha Holden.
"Alpha Fallon what an underhand method you used, why did you sabotage the tires of our cars?, We're stuck in the middle of nowhere with no means to move out till whenever our message reaches our pack members." Fallon's imitation of the Alpha's face was so spot on that Taylor was rolling on the floor with laughter.
"And then he was like, this is what a child should do, not you, Fallon, not you." She continued shaking her head in shame.
"And I was like, send an invitation next time else your trials and tribulations have just begun." Fallon joined Taylor on the ground and laughed too.
Between fits of laughter Taylor managed to mutter "good times."
Packs always held annual meetings to discuss their progress, make alliances and also cancel alliances. Since Hill pack lost its Alpha and was succeeded by Fallon at a young age they had never attended any Were Convention. Her Beta who would've gone in her stead was also not invited even though he was three years older than she was.
An Alpha and his beta came of age at 16. In Hill packs case, Fallon had come of werewolf Alpha age three years ago but the convention had never sent her an invitation.
Fallon was not known to show kindness. When the invitation hadn't come the third year, she took matters into her own hands.
She sabotaged the vehicles which conveyed the Alpha's to the venue.
The venue for convention meetings was always security tight. She had to check her father's old files to get several locations where they might hold the meetings, these files were official files only Alphas and their Betas were allowed to touch anyone who tampered with such files faced certain consequences.
With a bit of minus and plus she was able to deduct where the Alpha's would have the next meeting.
Despite Fallon being irrational and childish she was a good tactician and she was very smart that was what kept her pack going but she couldn't keep it on for long.
She had to get alliances because some Alphas were planning on taking Hill pack as theirs and the Alphas who her packs once had alliances with had been succeeded by their sons and when an Alpha is succeeded any alliance they have is automatically rendered useless and need to be done again either at the convention or personally.
Making alliances at conventions was better than making it personally. Many risks are involved when an alliance is being made personally. It leaves one's pack bare to intruders because the Alphas involved had to have it done on neutral grounds with other Alphas watching if they intend to use an alliance formation as a disguise to kill one another.
The Alphas who attended the convention last year did everything they could to return to their packs fast as the venue for it was at a very remote ground very, very far away from life. The convention last year did not hold.
There were no alliances formed because when Fallon sabotaged the cars which took them to the venue, she announced to all that the Alphas were currently stranded and their packs were open for the taking.
The other Alphas had to rush back home because their packs were now open to rogues and rogues would not waste any time to wreak havoc on a pack without an Alpha. The journey which would take them a week with their vehicles took most of them two weeks. As traveling on their wolf form wore them out easily even in their human form it wasn't easy. Also they had their clansmen traveling with them.
Alpha Holden was most annoyed because even as the Alphas were in the forest alone he had to make sure they did not kill one another. When they returned he said that was his most trying period as the leader of the Convention.
This year a letter arrived at Fallon's pack house and when she read it she was proud. In every continent she was known as the Alpha who kept Alpha's away from their packs when it wasn't even war time. She kept nineteen Alphas away from their packs.
She dragged Taylor downstairs as a maid came to announce to them that dinner was ready.
As the two girls went down they were joined by the quiet Beta Jordan Jnr. He gave them a curt nod as he walked alongside them.
Many pack members wanted Fallon to throw Jordan out of the pack after what happened but she didn't. She always said Jordan was competent and he had his uses. Also she could not punish him because of the sins of his father.
She said she had never made a better decision than she did when she let Jordan succeed his father.
At the dinner table she was joined by other pack members who lived in the pack house and they sat to eat their meal.
