Chapter 39 - Chapter 34: The Call of Fate

A few hours of the shenanigans me and Na'shi were up to eventually came to an end as the barrier covering the tinted black glass window was removed and the whole place was lit up in bright lights.

All the participants below wore exquisite clothes and had beautiful and elegant masks that hid their faces.

The auction began with a long introduction to the event, about its rules and regulations, as well as introducing some of the creators/previous owners of the items being auctioned off.

The auction began snd numerous items had been presented already. They were nothing major but mainly collector items and such that ranged from a few thousand to roughly twenty thousand septims in terms of value.

There were the occasional item and such that was worth 10 Septims or so, however they were in massive quantities ranging in the dozens to the hundreds.

Nothing caught my eye, that was until the Auction decided to chabge to ingredients and potions.

The Auction is broken up into various parts and would cycle through each one after a certain number of different items was presented.

Recently it was decorative items and before that it was useful day-to-day things.

However, right now it was ingredients and I grew interested when I spotted a certain type of fish that can help me destabilise the trade and economy in the Imperial City for a while, allowing me to capitalise on this opportunity.

I already had an abundance of Fly Amanita

(Fly Amanita - 2G each - Resist Fire, Fortify Two-Handed, Frenzy, Regenerate Stamina.)

(A/n G = Gold = Septim)

The item on the stage is a Glassfish. They cost 1G each. A living one is 15g each.

I purchased 26 live Glassfish for 390 Septims and 50 dead Glassfish for 50 Septims taking the total spent to 440.

Glassfish were useful because of their properties.

(Glassfish - 1G - Restore Magicka, Invisibility, Fortify Illusion, Fortify Speech.)

A few items went by and I waited patiently for something to appear.

"...and these three ingredients are incredibly rare and we've only a low stick of these. Fortunately, it should satisfy any master Alchemist amongst you all. Thanks to the efforts of the sadly deceased Mirili Ulven who travelled to the the Realm of Oblivion, the Shivering Isles, she had been able to document and devise a method to reproduce these ingredients outside of the Realm of Oblivion they were born within. I present to you, Ambrosia, the Alicasia Fruit and lastly the Aster Bloom Core. Let's start of with Ambrosia shall we. We'll Abros-"

I tunned out the man's voice as I was in stunned silence.

Mirili Ulven is a Dumer Sorceress that had the Hero of Kvatch, Bendu Olo, gather her numerous ingredients that only grew within the Shivering Isles. Mania is the region were most of these ingredients grew.

Mirili Ulven wanted to create a Taxonomy Catalog of ingredients found in the Realms of Oblivion.

I guess she was able to grow them outside Mania and the Shivering Isles.

I'm quite thankful to her, Ambrosia has stupidly strong healing and regenerative properties if the records and statements in various books and notes are to be believed.

Ambrosia - 15G each - Restore Health, Regenerate Health, Fortify Health, Cure Poison

Alocasia Fruit - 22G each - Light, Regenerate Stamina, Regenerate Health, Restore Magicka

Aster Bloom Core - 40G each - Paralysis, Fortify Block, Resist Magic, Fortify Light Armour

These items being shown have a fixed amount but if two individuals want the same item but there isn't enough, they can raise the item or ingredient's base auction value.

Fortunately, not many people tried buying it in bulk, but me on the other hand, I bought an large supply, enough so that I can learn to mass reproduce it in my Greenhouse.

This way if I fail with one, I will have another to try again.

Ambrosia - 15G each -> 22 = - 330 Spetims

Alocasia Fruit - 22G each -> 47 = - 1,034 Spetims

Aster Bloom Core - 40G each -> 88 = - 3,520 Septims

Total spent = 4,884 Septims

Overall spent = 5,324 Spetims.

"Finally! Freedom! Hey! What do know! Two F-lettered words in a row...FF...Fanfic? Meh...oi Blind Elf Boy! Why the heck did you spend so much to by my the things I use in my herbal bath water?" An Alfiq cat said as it had escaped the confines of my Storage Space Ring.

"What are you talking about? Do Gods even need to take baths? Also why the heck are these here on Nirn?" I said pointing to the three Daedric ingredients before they were removed from the stage, indicating that the next item will soon come.

"What do you want me to say? Meow? That lady was obsessed with my herbal bath water plants, so I sent her to Punishment Peak."

My whole body shivered in fear when he said that place.

If they Player attacks Sheogorath in the Oblivion game, he'd teleport the player above Punishment Peak only to plumit to their death immediately after. Not even with Godmode activated can you survive!

"Hey, how do these plants even grow in the first place? It should only grow in your Domain." I asked the Skooma Cat deity as Na'shi seemed to be under a hypnotic trance, rubbing her face against Sheo's fimur while Jin'da is unconscious on the couch.

"Huh? That's a stupid question? The Dunmer asked the same thing..."

I took out and held a Yarn Ball, but this one is mo ordinary Yarn Ball, this one is made out of pure cheese!

"I guess I can give you a freebie this time. You just need to poop ontop of a fire, the ground under the fire will become fertile to use to grow the plant on Nirn. How dumb can Mortals be to not know something so simple?"

I stared at him in disbelief for a few moments before dropping the Yarn Ball and falling into depression at what my life has become.

Sheo wasted no time and left at the Cheese Yarn Ball with great vigor!

...

...

...

Hours went by and eventually a whole day was gone.

There was living spaces for us to stay the night rather than make the trip back to the surface.

After staying the night we returned to the Auction once again to continue with the more expensive items.

Yesterday, all of my products had appeared and were immediately sold out.

Military officers, mercenaries, nobles, thieves, assasins, warriors, mages, sorcerers, alchemists and lore all bought the items I had as each one was unique and rather specific to the targeted group of buyers.

A list of my items and the gains are as follows, including the [Hinge's Broken Bone] that Jin'da sold elsewhere.

• Clairvoyance Blood Candle - 350 X 6G = 2,100G

• Thunder Bombs - 68 X 20G = 1,360G

• World Compass (3d holographic map) - 160 X 70G = 11,200G

• Ring of Flames - 500 X 30G = 15,000G

• Ring of Frost - 380 X 30G = 11,400G

• Liquid Luck - 9 X 1,250G = 11,250G

• Dragon's Ligour - 723 X 15G = 10,845G

• Focus Water - 1,000 X 25G = 25,000G

• Mage's Blood - 200 X 80G = 16,000G

• Ring of Light - 1,500 X 20G = 30,000G

• Ring of Danger - 43 X 100G = 4,300G

• Magic Lens - 26 X 200G = 5,200G

• Sapphire Spyglass - 30 X 500G - 15,000G

• Voice Changing necklace - 8 x 300G = 2,400G

• Hinge's Broken Bone - 70 X 130G = 9,100G

• Ring of Poison Detection - 46 X 250G = 11,500G

Total Gain - 181,655 Septims

- 7,266 Septims (Jin'da's cut)

- 36,331 Septims (Auction 20% share of profits)

+ 27,209 Spetims (Pesronal money remaining)

= 165,207 Septims Overall

A few more items appeared in the Auction buy nothing major.

A dozen Ingots of Ebony did appear though.

Each Ingot varied in size, and I needed approximately 35 kg worth in weight.

I knew how much my Ebony Dagger weighed and an average spears weight.

After determining how much I needed I bought 10 Ebony Ingots/Bars each worth 1,000G making the total spent as 10,000 Septims for 50 kg worth of Ebony.

Ebony is the crystallised God's Blood of Lorkhan that can occur when Magma, which is also Lorkhan's Blood, condenses and hardens into Ebony.

No wonder its so expensive, but we'll worth it.

I have 15 kg of Ebony extra, I can use the extra for Na'shi and Rael's armours.

Rael is quite large but if I coat the base armour with the liquefied Ebony it'll help to make a strong layer ontop of the pre-existing armour.

The Auction continued for a while and the whole time I had been observing my competition for the potential item.

The other black glass rooms showed they didn't buy anything, since if we bid then a blinking magical colored light will indicate it.

The Corrium siblings didn't buy anything except for the first few items showcased in yesterday's auction.

They definitely will have a lot of money.

Hours passed and the day was almost over like yesterday.

The Auction would soon end for good and now the best items were being brought to the stage.

I wasn't interested in anything, although I did buy a certain type of ink. This ink would copy the ink used last on a quill when placed into the empty pot. The pot will fill to match the small traces that was left on the quill from its last usage.

Very handy since if you have multiple quills, you can change in between them rapidly and use only a single inkpot.

Also, when changing Inks, you'd need to spill drop a droplet of water into the Inkpot to make it reset to colorless water. When a new quill is placed inside, the Inkpot will match and create the suitable Ink by use the various inscribed Alteration Runes that covers the entire Inkpot in its design.

I immediately bought that as this has become my most valuable item second to the Elder Scroll I still carry in its bracelet form and the Grimoire.

I could start full scale wars and easily fund my kingdom my forging countless documents with the Quill of Gemination.

The Quill of Gemination is owned by Maven Black-Briar and can be used to replicate and perfectly copy/mimic the writing the user has previously seen.

Imagine what I can do when I easily aquire and see documents with the signatures of any Jarl in Skyrim or even members of the High Council. Better yet, the Emperor and the higher ups of the Aldermeri Dominion/Thalmor.

I could do Sun Tzu proud by literally carrying out the truest meaning of "The Art of War".

There is one problem with the Quill of Gemination though, only Maven Black-Briar knows the magical Ink that I'd required to use the Quill as it won't work with any ordinary one.

That however, has easily been solved by the Inkpot I have aquired just now for only 7,500 Septims.

If the Inkpot doesn't worl for the Quill of Gemination, then in the future I'll just create a perfect one that can once I've mastered Alteration magic.

I guess I'll call it the [Gemini Inkpot] in honor of the [Quill of Gemination].

If I remeber, the Quill of Gemination should have been lost a few years before Skyrim's plot in 201st by Vlad when it was being escorted.

It should be lost close to the Riften docks in Lake Honrich inside of Vlad's strongbox.

Shortly after that, Vlad was forced to work for Maven until his debt for losing the Quill of Gemination was paid off. He should be working as Mercer Frey's bodyguard for his home in Riften.

"Okay ladies and gentlemen, we have one of the last few items of the event. Here is the Book of Fate, discovered in a secret room in the Arcane University. The individual has decided he wants to Auction it off here tonight. The writing in the book describes the destiny of its reader, so the words change from one person to the next. Some see only blank pages, and nobody knows why. Perhaps some of us are born with no destiny, or maybe the blank pages signify an imminent death. Regardless, would you not want to know your own fate? This is your chance, maybe you can change your fate once you see its contents that will be specific to you alone! The starting bid is at 5,000 Septims!"

I FUCKING KNEW IT!!!

DAMN YOU CURSED TWINS!

If they hadn't of show up then this Omen would not have come to true.

Shit!

Now I have to buy it at all costs!

I need to know if its real or not, and if it is then I need to see my Fate!

Considering that Calixto bought this and showed it to the Dragonborn in his museum in the game, is doubt it would be fake.

But if that's true then that should mean Lucilla should die soon since if they bought the Book of Fate in the Lore, then Lucilla must have seen blank pages meaning her death and died shortly after.

Calixto then moved to Windhelm in Skyrim and became the Butcher after studying Necromancy to resurrect her sister.

Wouldn't it also show blank pages for him since he would die at the hands of the Dragonborn in 7 years time when the game takes place.

If I'm not mistaken in my theory, the said "mage from the Arcane University" discovered this Book and foresaw his death because the page's were blank.

Out of fear it could mean his death, he took the Book of Fate and intends to sell it at the Auction today and gain a sizeable sum in order to flee to a remote region and live out his remaining days to avoid his potential imminent death.

That seems like the only plausible explanation.

Wasting no time I immediately raised the bid to 10,000 to deter anyone except the Corrium twins from being my competition.

This was a stupid and risky move but since i had showed my interest in the item, now others will want it as well and compete against me.

But I'm willing to go all the way, if needed I'll just kill the Corrium twins and get the Book myself.

I don't care if I have to lose my Humanity by becoming a Murderer, Fate and Destiny are things metaphysical concepts that transcends the entire Elder Scrolls universe.

It is likely that the Book of Fate is an artifact of the forgotten/erased Daedric Prince of Fate and Destiny, Ithelia.

It should be similar to how the Black Books belong to Hermaeous Mora.

Even Hermaeous Mora was afraid of Ithelia's power to manipulate Fate to her whims.

Mora theorised that Ithelia could destroy Reality itself for the TES universe by causing a large scale event to occur.

One way that the Godhead could be awakened from its endless dream is if a event happens that is powerful enough to accidentally awaken it.

When the Godhead awakens the entire TES universe will be erased like it never 3xisted since it is apart of the Godhead's Dream.

Ithelia was one threat that could awaken the Godhead by accident and Mora knew this.

The Book of Fate is not to be underestimated if it really is the real deal.

The Dovahkiin in the game only saw blank pages from the book, but that can be because Fate and Destiny are things that the Hero protagonists of all the games are unbound by because they all carry apart of Ithelia's power to transcend Fate and Destiny which is why they are the "protagonist".

The Corrium twins in the room i had memorised them enter had immediately saw my bid and didn't hesitate to increase it by 10,000.

Damn, they really want it to double my bid.

And so our war began.

We would bid in 10,000s until it reached 70,000 where I did 75,000.

I wanted to see what they would do, I pretended to make it look like I didn't have much left and so I was the first one to lower the 10,000 increase to 5,000 bringing my body to 7,500.

They must have decided to copy me for safety since they put forth 5,000 of their own to 8,000.

This continued and no one else even tried to participate but instead bets in the croud began on whether I would win or them.

Many people were cheering for the both of us as our bidding war raged on.

It had reached all the way to 120,000 Septims and that was when I think one of them talked with the other about the possibility of it being too much or if the Book of Fate was a fake.

And so at 130,000 Septims I won the bid as they didnt try to get involved after that.

Out of my 147,707 Septims I had before, now its negative 130,000 Septims to that overall amount.

Funny how I entered the Auction with around 30,000 and now I'm left with 17,707 Septims.

Almost half of what I walked in with!

I hate this cursed fucking book!

After the Auction had finished and I went to collect my winnings I quickly left before the Corrium siblings can learn of who bought the Book of Fate and I fled the place back to the surface with Jin'da, Na'shi, the Alfiq form of Sheogorath.

I was afraid to look at the Book of Fate's pages and refused to look at it, afraid of what I might find.

Sheogorath fortunately let slip that the Book of Fate was genuine and had a trace of Divine power similar to his but he couldn't remeber where from.

Definitely because Mora erased his and all the God's memories of Ithelia's existence.

So it is true, this belonged to Ithelia.

After that, Sheogorath left and said he was going on vacation and wanted to visit a friend.

I easily guessed that he must be talking about entering the mind of Pelagius the Mad.

I guess the next time I'll see him will be in Skyrim when the game's events start.

As for the me, I stored the Book of Fate inside my Storage Ring and went to sleep after giving my subordinates orders to carry out with all my gains from the last two days of the Auction.

I would deal with the Book of Fate later.

************

Some explanation to not confuse you all:

Magic Academy - Trains skilled individuals with the potential to weild powerful Magic

Arcane University - Branch of the Mage's Guild that solely focuses on pure research and development into a singular field related to Magic or Alchemy

Mage's Guild - Main HQ to train potential Masters and Sorcerers of Magic

(Another chapter out by today with you special Daily Dose of TES Lore!)

ps. I will make a list of all the items that Sivreth Possesses soon, as well as images of the skill trees and what perks he has.

bare in mind that the level shown and perks aquired will not be achievable the same in game since I altered the value modifiers of perk gain per level to balance out his overall level to not be overpowered.

he may have lost of skill perks, but that is because it is reality, he would naturally have those perks with what he is doing.

the overall level is where the individuals power level is at.

the following is based on NPC skill calculator values

example - player skill perk for apprentice Illusion is attained at 25 while master Illusion skill perks is attained at 100.

but in game NPC trainers are capped out at 90 (master), 75 (expert), 50 (adept)

I made these values to represent it, I hope it makes sense for all as I tried balancing it with every being on Nirn.

average - 10 to 15

novice - 20

apprentice - 35

adept - 50

expert - 75

master - 90

legendary - 100
