Chapter 55: Match Day!!!
The Arena was buzzing, the crowd went crazy. The people couldn't control themselves, they were just too excited.
Clara was sponsored by the principal and not allowed to pay and she was given a special seat alongside Mr. Thomas, in a seating position much closer to the stage.
Around the stage, there were camera drones flying around to capture the event.
There was a match scheduled to take place before Lancelot Jr's match.
Everyone was seated to watch it, but their minds were really on the upcoming match. To them, the next match was all that mattered.
The school had noticed the interest of the crowd in Lancelot Jr's matches so they decided to place other matches around it, to ensure that they gain as much money as possible from every match.
In the present match, a water elemental from class 4 was facing a forest elemental from class 4, both were in a stalemate position.
The water elemental was in fact, Leonard, a roommate to Lancelot Jr.
He had watched Lancelot Jr's match and was also determined to do well.
He jumped up, condensing vapor from the atmosphere, and prancing with swan-like grace, he unleashed a water arrow straight at the forest elemental.
The attack was so superb that those who seemed bored were distracted for a minute, it was too captivating to ignore, even the commentator spoke,
"That was a wonderful attacking ability from the water jet, P.s I wonder why he calls himself that? He is really agile and very flexible, that move caught the forest elemental off guard, he couldn't even protect himself on time...."
The forest elemental was slammed against the wall restrains of the stage.
He later got up and unleashed wooden pegs from his hands, shooting them like an arrow toward Leonard.
As the wooden pegs approached, Leonard seemed to be in a dire situation until, suddenly, Leonard became translucent, as water filled the entire space of his body, the attacking pegs stopped when they came in contact with the water state of his body, he then caused the attack to revert and speed back to the attacker.
It slammed into the forest elemental at full force, knocking him out completely. The referee ran to the side of the forest nation elemental to check if he was alright.
"The Water Jet wins" the referee spoke as he raised Leonard's hand after returning to his side
Leonard was delighted, he walked off stage trying to mimic the manner in which Lancelot Jr had walked off stage in his match, a few people in the crowd noticed this and smiled pointing towards the stage.
It was then finally time for Lancelot Jr to compete, the crowd started screaming, some wanted revenge, some wanted to enjoy a good show, and some didn't care.
"I'm betting on that kid to win, he is an absolute monster", said a person in the crowd.
The commentator then spoke as the selection board started to display faces and names;
"it is time for the most anticipated match of the day, everyone, don't blink, don't even miss a second of this encounter, this school keeps giving surprises this year, let's see what this huge match would bring"
The board images started to change, it then displayed Lancelot Jr's stats, with his picture and name.

The crowd went crazy, screaming at the top of their lungs as the board displayed that, then it showed the words "VS" signifying versus.
The next image started to flip between images, it went through almost 100 images before stopping at one, then it moved to the next one and finally stopped.

The principal got up this time, she was shocked the Emperor wasn't around nor was the god of the Earth nation, but a decree was sent via text to the Principal,
"No changes must be made to the match"
The commentator then spoke after receiving confirmation, even though he was shocked beyond comprehension.
"Uhm, Ladies, and gentlemen, for this match the fire King would be going against the beast titan of level 3 of the beast nation. The
Principal has indicated that there won't be any adjustment to this match and would go on as planned. I think it's dangerous to pit a year 1 against Beast Titan, even year 2 from the beast nation would not want to face off against him."
"Get ready for the show ladies and gentlemen, it's about to start, place your bets and be at the edge of your seat for this mouth-watering encounter."
After hearing the commentator's speech, Lancelot Jr then walked out and the shouts grew louder,
"Give it up for Gabriel Li everybody"
The commentator shouted as the "fire King" chant broke out in some part of the Arena.
After that fierce-looking, Gerald Guye walked out.
He moved with such confidence like he had already won. "Give it up for Gerald Guye, The beast Titan'
More drones flew around the periphery of the stage.
Both Lancelot Jr and Gerald Guye were on the stage. "How is your injury?" Gerald asked with a smile.
Lancelot Jr ignored him as he readied himself for battle.
The principal was having a hard time concentrating. She couldn't sit comfortably, she had to stand up and pace around before coming back to her sit.
The crowd was buzzing.
"You really did it, you got Mrs. Jackson to tamper with the selection board, thank you, now I'm rest assured that all the bets placed using my savings and borrowed money are not in vain." A man shouted happily in the crowd.
"You have Mrs. Jackson to thank for that, after this match, no one would remember this kid again, he would be completely destroyed maybe even killed"
"We all know of Gerald Guye, he is a complete lunatic, he once beat a boy that enraged him using the dinosaur transformation, after beating him to coma, he still went to his bedside to continue the beating, they had to suspend him for a whole year for him to cool off."
The other man listened wide-eyed, licking his lips in anticipation, "In other words, Gabriel Li would be completely subdued, if not killed in this match?"
"Yes that is what I mean" discussions and gossip continued to flow in between shouts.
Lancelot Jr just stood there like a statue, he cared little for the overbearing crowd.
The referee then walked up to the two, "Until your opponent is unable to render a counter-attack, that is when a verdict would be delivered for who wins and losses, ...so. ... "
"fight.."
The referee raised his hand and dropped it before stepping back.
Gerald Guye started to transform, he took on the shape of a ferocious bear, almost twice the height of Lancelot Jr.
The bear stood in an upright position and made a bear roar, "hruuuuurhh" after the nasal grunt, it charged out.
At this point, Clara got up from her seat. She had been trying to stay composed but now she
was terrified after seeing the bear,
"Mr. Thomas, they are going to kill him, they want to kill my baby", she screamed.
Mr. Thomas felt helpless, he didn't know how to calm Clara at this point, he also was terrified of the possible outcome of the match.
"A level 3 against a level 1 that is highly inconceivable, if the Fire king is able to hold his own against the Beast Titan, it could change things for the elemental world, this ravenous beast is on the offensive, look at the sheer size of its fangs, the arms alone would weigh more than the entire weight of Gabriel"
The commentator spoke sarcastically as he watched the match with rapt attention.
The bear swung about with its fist at full speed, Lancelot used air to slide himself elegantly to a safe distance while using smoke to cover the trick, he also produced a small water arrow which he lunched at the bear, it struck its hide but fell off, heat accustomed the water arrow, melting it upon impact to hide the move.
The Bear roared in rage from the move as he sped up to Lancelot Jr again, swinging its arms crazily.
