Chapter 9 - Player!

Rylex felt as if a bowl of cold water had been poured on her head, dousing the nefarious flames of primal lust rising in her heart.

Jack who saw this giggled in his heart, but didn't say anything rash.

"Rylex, you still haven't told me what happened the day you stabbed me… What are you hiding?" Jack asked as he tightens his grip on Rylex, afraid she would instantly run away to escape his question.

"That…" She suddenly tried to struggle without using too much force to prevent herself from accidentally killing Jack, but found his grip was tightened around her body.

She squirmed violently in his grasp for a while before reluctantly giving with a difficult expression on her face. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"Let me continue the story… Telling you the whole truth…"

Rylex sighed and relaxed her body, she raised her hands and drew something in the air, soon Jack's eyes widened in shock as he looked around.

Everything around him except for Rylex had turn white, and he felt as if he was been hurled forward by a strange force. He looked back, and his heart leapt out of his chest.

In a sitting pose, was his physical body, looking pale and lifeless.

"What the hell…" Jack cursed in fear as he raised his hands to his eyes, and nearly fainted from shock. His heart would have stopped functioning if not for his improving mental strength.

His hands had turned white, and had begun to give off an ethereal glow! Rylex was in the same state as him, floating besides him in the vast void but at her own will- not being hurled forward by a strange force.

"They're over thousands of gods in your realm, with only a hundred true gods, and two Elder Gods. Elder God, Lucifer of the Dark, and Elder God Jah, of the Light."

"What?" Jack was shocked speechless. He was brought up to believe that there were only one true god, and now someone is telling him that there are more than a thousand out there?

"Unlike Low-Gods who ascend to the divine realm from the mortal realm, true gods are far more powerful and each of them has a whole world under them.

Elder Gods police not just one, but a whole network of worlds. Drawing in faith which is used to raise their strength and strengthen their worlds."

Jack attention had been captivated, he forgot about the story for a second and wanted to learn something exciting, "So, the more people believe in a God, the stronger they become?"

"You are correct. Every God has a domain like me, and everyone who believes in the principles of this domain gives faith to the God who owns it. For example, the greater the number of people who believes in the principle of anti-war the stronger I become."

Rylex stopped to catch her breath, and after a while she opened her mouth to speak again,

"Back to the story. The mortal who was killed by the Superior Creator was your ancient ancestor. He was engaged with an older sister of mine, and she had moved on to a higher realm I cannot reach for now.

Jack, your ancient ancestor had this primal desire to destroy anything that offends him. This was his driving force as he slaughtered his way to the top, and began to seek greater power. You already know what happens later…

His children had began to grow steadily in strength with the dormant ability of resurrection only appearing in some descendants every now and then.

Just years ago, my brother who battled against an infamous Netherworld Crane was brought back to the Celestial Realm dead. I knew the key to saving him was with our of the Thompson's.

I was too young then, so I couldn't go down to get one. I waited for years, until I was old and strong enough before hurrying off to find the next Thompson with the resurrection ability."

Jack eyes narrowed as most of the doubt in his heart was cleared. He still had some questions though, some tough questions.

"Why did you stab me? Why did you shiver when I mentioned my 'outburst' in the mansion, and why did you kiss me without building a stable relationship first…"

Rylex's ghostly white face turned blood-red red in embarrassment for a second, before she suddenly cleared her throat and began to speak,

"I stabbed you with a special dagger, Moonlight Soul Blade, that helped in awakening resurrection based abilities by instantly tearing apart the seal that kept them dormant.

The state you entered was the infamous Absolute Carnage Mode of every awakened Thompson. It only only gave you immense defensive capabilities, it could also help against weaker gods as your strength would temporarily rise.

As for the third question… I won't answer, and I don't want to. Hmph!"

Jack rolled his eyes, but before he could say anything he suddenly felt a powerful suction force that forced his mind to go blank for a second as his ethereal body was dragged back and thrown into his body.

"Huah Huah…"

Jack breathed heavily as he patted his chest. He looked around apprehensively and smiled when he found Rylex still in the intimate pose with him, in his limo which had already came to a halt.

"Boss, we're here…"

The chauffeur called out as he pulled open the limo's door with his head lowered. He noticed the obscene posture Jack and Rylex was in, but he smartly kept quiet.

Rylex who wanted to tease the poor chauffeur, gave him an apologetic look before 'trying' to get away from Felix. She 'accidentally' slipped and during her escape her brushed her chest against Jack's face.

"Oops sorry, pardon me…"

Blood spurts out of Jack nose after the magnificent feeling left his face. He became starry eyed for a second before suddenly smiling and giving Rylex a coquettish grin.

"I know what you're trying to do, but please get out of my car before something bad happens here…" Jack spoke seriously as he watched Rylex shift away from him with a smile.

"Hehe, I'd like to know what bad thing would possibly happen between a man and woman left alone in a locked car." Rylex grinned as she spoke out loud, but the rest of her sentence was spoken in her heart, "No bad thing except me ripping your head off your neck."

The chauffeur had become uncomfortable so he began to scratch his head awkwardly. Children of nowadays, they always act so brazen and fearless.

"Me failing to tell you that the last goddess that was with me ended up pregnant." Jack said without thinking, but when he finally thought about his words, his face turned beet red.

"Player!"
